Re: PDCA

You never know, it’s a closed set up.
Not sure I agree with that, i've sat at AGM's and watched people stare at the floor when nominations to join the committee come around.

Most people either aren't interested, or are too invested / busy with their own club.

Fair, however with the lack of activity on their socials they do not pop up in peoples feeds. They should have a Database of every players details to have ever played in the competition. Surely an email to all that AGM in on said date would not go astray though. Does it change people looking at their toes or resolve the issue of no one getting involved - no, but it does present an open forum.

Re: PDCA

So there has been a de-registration, 18 match ban, multiple 14 match bans handed down from the weekends match? Anywhere one can read the penalties?

Re: PDCA

I’ll say it till I am blue in the face, get rid of 2 Day cricket. Become the best Limited overs competition out side of Grade Cricket.

Help clubs get FrogBox set up and stream all A Grade matches.

Get Sponsors and incentivise winning Grade 1 and 2 Premierships.

Stop charging clubs per team registration and charge an affiliation fee. Clubs should be rewarded for increasing participation numbers not hindered. A club with 5 or 6 teams forks out $1250-$1500 a club with 2 teams pay $500, charge a $1500 affiliation fee and encourage clubs to increase their participation numbers.

Encourage LO1 and LO2 clubs to wear colours and utilise the FrogBox highlights to package up weekly packages for social media.

Get serious with the rules and time restrictions, 40 Over matches first innings to be completed within 2 hours and 15 mins plus a 15 min drink break. Start at 13:00, overs to be completed by 15:30, if you have only bowled 36 overs at 15:30 you face 36 overs in response but still complete the 40. This will see more spinners bowling and greater urgency in the field. Not half cocked rules where it’s now a 37 over game because it is.

LO1’s 45 overs, LO2-LO4 40 overs, LO5-LO7/8 35 Overs.

Unfortunately the biggest detriment to summer sport is the time away from families, if you can get the girls to the cricket and enjoying their days, the lads will play. Need to encourage clubs social calendars and promote a family friendly environment. Which I believe the above would. It is very hard to structure a social calendar when fixtures are only released the week prior to round 1, but I also understand how and why this is the way it is.

Re: PDCA

Interesting letter from Central United being circulated…

..........so what is the content.
From the brief look I got titled ‘Racism in PDCA’ and general jist is something along the lines of ‘we are all for inclusivity and diversity if you look like us, walk like us and talk like us’ ‘please bring a rule in to only speak English between the hours of 08:00-20:00 on Saturdays’

Virginia have communicated in Greek since Jesus transferred from Bethlehem to Jerusalem, with more families coming into the area from non English speaking countries I would have thought understanding and education a better way forward than calling for a silent vote to remove a club.
