5 from Broadview, will they get them all?

I wonder if they have the 15 point rule or if there has been a special arrangement for starting up a new club, oh wait they are not new, oh they are, im confused!

Re: Ch9 AFL Division 7 - 2015

North Pines will smash D7R surely??? give em a solution.
Um Play against A grade teams as they are a A grade team? lol good call. What i meant was what do they do with the b grade because that'd be only 6 in b grade meaning extra byes because there'd be 8 in a grade with two of those without b grades
Yea I know it is hard but doesn't seem right to have 7 teams in 7 and then have 10 teams in 8. About time the league told clubs where they are playing and not other way around. Surely some of the bigger clubs in 8 could step up to 7.
This is based upon 7 not being about A grade clubs playing each other as highlighted by Pines in 7r.

Have to love Mawson Lakes form, we have been trying to get a clearance for a "c" grader. Looks like they are going to take the 10 day's before we even get a answer and we have rang them only to get the run around. The lad going to miss 2 games.

Unsure why a club would try and stop someone from playing a higher grade but each to there own.
Will Lodges next move be pay us what we were going to pay Trent for the year and you can have him?
OR maybe they are making him honour the contract he signed with them

Ok so they go down that path, bloke doesn't end up playing at all or you have a bloke who plays for you who isn't really interested and leaves at the end of the year anyway, what do you achieve?

Re: C&CCA Season 2015/16

Discussion raised last night at the Delegates meeting over the consideration of exploring one season of complete One Day matches next year.

Option to have maximum of 10 overs per bowler instead of 8 thought.

Peoples thoughts? Comps obviously barely surviving.. might not be the worst idea.. although for the purists who like 2 day cricket its pretty ordinary.. :(

If it did turn into a One Day comp, i would like to see games start at 10:30 with a potential early finish. That might entice a few more players. Would it still be 40 overs or would it turn to 50?

50 over a side cricket would be a long day. Like the idea of early starts, but that might upset a few with Saturday morning work, and clubs that have school cricket on it, in the morning.

I like the variety we have in our comp now with 5 X 1 Dayers, 5 X 2 Dayers and 3 X T20 matches.

Thats because your batting is as boring as bat shit and you would probably have to retire. Which would be a good thing and entice a few back to Rose Park that left because they fell asleep watching you bat.

Re: CH9AFL DIvision 4 2016

While i agree that the committee may have made some mistakes, i still believe the players have a lot to answer for. I believe you play for a club and if that is your club and you dont agree with who they appoint as coach for a year big deal, you suck it up and play.
Players to walk because they dont like a coach is weak IMO.
How is the premiership reunion going to look in 10 years ( if there is a club ) when blokes sit around and have a beer there and think, yeah it was a good flag but remember when we pissed off the following year and the club couldn't field a team and had to close. Pretty week IMO

I blame Rose Park for the comp in decline, blokes should learn to share some premierships around.
I mean how much would it burn blokes having structured training's during the week and training hard to know these blokes dont even train let alone have a clubrooms to go back too.

Unsure at this stage. I actually have spoke to a couple of people but time will tell.

I have heard that Carey has spoken to one of his previous clubs, so maybe Salisbury West, Salisbury North, Paralowie, Peake, Central United or Southern Eagles are looking for a coach. With the iron in that many fires he is a chance!

Re: CH9AFL Division 6 2016

The Situations:
West Croydon - Can Not lose top spot, will get a week off next week, and the perfect run at a GF.

Woodville South - Can Not lose 2nd spot. Would need to lose to Ingle Farm by 184 points to lose 2nd place. Question is who they play in the 1st final. Lose to Ingle Farm and they host them next week again at home. If they win, and Brahma account for Adelaide Lutheran then they host the Tigers.

Ingle Farm -
Win: Finish 3rd, earn double chance and play Woodville South (Away).
Lose and Brahma win: Finish 4th, host elimination final vs 5th spot.
Lose and Brahma lose: Finish 3rd, earn double chance and play Woodville South (Away).

Brahma Lodge -
Win and Ingle Farm Win: Finish 4th, host 5th place in elimination final
Win and Ingle Farm lose: Finish 3rd, earn double chance, play Woodville South (Away).

Fitzroy -
Win: Finish 5th, play in elimination final vs either Brahma Lodge or Ingle Farm
Lose and either of TOS, ML or MP win: Finish outside the 5.
CAN NOT BE RELEGATED

Trinity OS -
Win and Fitzroy win: Finish 6th.
Win and Fitzroy lose: Finish 5th, play in elimination final vs either Brahma Lodge or Ingle Farm
Lose and HD and MP win: Finish 9th, get relegated.
Lose and either HD or MP lose: Finish outside the 5, avoid relegation

Mawson Lakes -
Win and Fitzroy lose: Finish 5th, play in elimination final vs either Brahma Lodge or Ingle Farm.
Win and Fitzroy win: Finish 6th
Lose and HD and MP win: Finish 9th, get relegated.
Lose and either HD or MP lose: Finish outside the 5, avoid relegation

Mitchell Park -
Win and Fitzroy and Trinity OS lose: Finish 5th, play in elimination final vs either Brahma Lodge or Ingle Farm.
Win and either Fitzroy or TOS win: Finish outside the 5, avoid relegation.
Lose and HD win: Finish 9th, get relegated.
Lose and HD lose: Finish 8th, avoid relegation.

Houghton Districts -
Win and Trinity OS and MP lose: Finish 6th, almost impossible to make up % to make the 5.
Win and TOS and MP win: Finish 9th, would need to win by 20+ goals, and ML lose by the same margin.
Win and ML and MP lose: Finish 7th, avoid relegation.
Lose: Finish 9th, get relegated.

Re: Adelaide Footy League Division 6 - 2017

So after speaking to a couple of mates from two different clubs who have played a top team in the reserves over the last two weeks, you have to love the arrogance of a certain club who actually puts a spare footy behind their goal posts to be given to the boundary umpire once they kick a goal to save time and get it back to the middle quicker. They even have there players grab the footy and give it to the umps. One team on sat nearly lost there match ball due to this club throwing the spare footy to the ump while the host club ball was still being collected after a goal.
I umpired a game last year where a team kicked 23 goals in a quarter, it went for 39 minutes. The next time I had the losing side from that day I insisted we follow that procedure.

I also love doing a B Grade game when someone boots the ball a mile when they're 5 metres out from goal, free money.

Funny thing about this is that if it is the club im thinking, before the start of our game i asked my son to ask the timekeeper how long the quarters were, there timekeeper insisted on 20 minutes to which i told my son no they are 22, my son did try to tell the timekeeper but he was insisted on it being 20 minutes. In the end i was happy we only played 20 lol

A lot of clubs rely on the numbers both nights of the week as well for money over the bar and that.
Makes life tough for a coach who wants to try achieve things and structures up training drills to suit a few things u want to teach the team and you get bugger all because off all the weak excuses that come out these days.
In saying that, i think the lowest we would have had would be around 30 so i guess that is good.

Re: Adelaide Footy League D7 - 2017

The thing they will learn - and we struggled with this and still do somewhat - is your football club doesn't operate in a bubble. How you conduct yourself on and off the field reflects on your football clubs marketability.

If you get a reputation of being a bunch of wangs, perception or otherwise, then it will affect sponsorship. It will affect recruitment. It will affect how you operate.

We played them in there first game ever or trial game ( cant remember which one ) a couple of seasons ago and when their player kicked the first goal of the game and grabbed his jumper and the crest on it and started pulling on it and running around the crowd high fiving everyone like he had just won a grand final in his 250th game, i had the same thoughts as you.
