Do you know for sure they are not forced to do it?

You would think as a minimum club members would get free entry to AO.

All out 166

Would think the Australians will bat again

No doubt about that, could be an entertaining 2nd session and a bit, get a lead up over 400 and send them back in for the last hour tonight

No way, with 2 more tests coming up in short time they will grind their bowlers well into tomorrow, 500+ lead IMO

Why not play the SANFL game after the AFL game?

Solves a lot of issues and you may get a bigger crowd hang around rather than turn up 3 hours before

Re: Soooooo, how's this weather?

Just check something.
Mine did the same Tuesday & remembered that last Christmas when it shut down I checked the unit & the outlet pipe on the unit was frozen over, turned it off for a few hours & she was hunky dory. It's a refrigerated system

Yep, it was working but blowing warm air so I called one of my clients who told me a few tricks, gave the filters a clean, gave the unit a rest for a couple of hours and when I put it back on I turned down the speed a bit also. He asked if the unit is in full sun, which it is in the arvo, he says the best units in the world will struggle with day after day use in the full sun. Now working fine thankfully :)

Might have to shout the system a service, its been a few years.

Re: Things that you rate!

As some know we had our trip to Bali cut short in March last year as my MIL's cancer suddenly got on top of her, we raced home and got to spend the last 24 hours with her. To get home the same day we had to fly via Perth and just paid whatever we needed to make it.

Anyway Ive been putting off contacting Jetstar about the return flights we never used, had some time today so got onto their live chat service, thinking Id have to fill out forms, send multiple emails etc just to get the value of the flights back, about $400.

After they asked a few questions and I uploaded the Death Certificate, it took about an hour, but they came back and said they are arranging a $1,000 credit for us to use and we will have the email in the first week of Jan. I was taken back cause the return flights only cost us $800, but then remembered that the flight we took from Bali to Perth was Jetstar and that cost us around $900 from memory, that was obviously considered.

They have copped a bad rap lately but well played Jetstar :)

Will use that to get back to Bali for Dec next year for our 50ths

Re: School Absentee whilst Holidaying

As i've mentioned on here before me and the family including partner plus a 11, 8 & 1 year old are spending 5 weeks over in Europe. This means to two older children will be missing 4 weeks of school.

I'm a big believer in the ability for real world travelling experiences to be great educational learnings for children and i want my children to gain some of this whilst on holiday.

What have others done in regards to their kids missing school? Do schools still give the kids work to do whilst away? Should i get them to keep a journal? Provide them with a project?

Thoughts?

We have regularly pulled the kids from school for a couple of weeks to travel, as we prefer to travel outside of school holidays due to it being much cheaper (get some great deals in off peak times) and if we go to popular places (gold coast) it is quiet at all the attractions etc. We have just had a chat to the teachers and they usually dont provide much info other than saying have a great trip, they generally believe you will learn more on the trip than if you stayed back in the classroom.

If ther eis a bit of downtime a journal would be good idea and they could even present back to their class when they return.

The incredible amount of know it all’s on Social Media who are all of a sudden professionals on Natural Disaster Management, prevention and politics - Both sides of the fence and from many angles. The amount of finger pointing is something I have never seen before...

Couldn't agree more, people trying to make political points in these times amaze me, doesnt matter if their point is valid or not, should be one sole focus on what we can do to help those in need and control the fires, nothing else.

Re: Restaurant & Pub Reviews

Yeah i did eat there. Due to the prices we only ordered the 'fried chicken' which was 3 pieces of chicken and a bowl of fries. Still come to around $30 i think. The food came out in about 20 minutes which we thought was reasonable considering we were there to try beers/gins.

The food was real nice but barely touched the sides.

Have noticed this place on SM, will check it out next time we are up there, being a regional area I reckon come winter when they rely more on locals they will sort out their pricing to be much more reasonable otherwise they wont last long.

If in the area its worth a drive to the Sunny Hill Distillery at Arthurton

Re: Daily Golf - Where you are playing and how you go

My son played at Flaggy yesterday, shot 160

Him and his mate got on for $10.

I went and had a hit at Willunga, twilight after 3pm $20, haven't played there for years. Shot a 93, which is my best round for over 2 years so pretty happy with that, mind you had a 8 & 7 on last 2 holes so could have been better.

Course in good knick, greens dont look real flash but I found they rolled very true, albeit slow. Good fun round, got around in 3 & 1/2 hours.

Re: Things that you rate!

Had a appointment yesterday morning in the Hills, so after it I took the opportunity to have a look around the fire affected areas, pleased to see a couple of people I knew from up there had their houses still standing, one was gone though. Incredible how many properties were burnt everywhere but the houses were saved, must be an incredible story for every house that was saved. Pretty spooky driving around some of the back roads imagining what it must have been like.

Anyway what I rated was struggling to find somewhere to have lunch, through Woodside and Lobethal all the bakeries and cafe's were choc full and absolutely flat out, great to see people in the towns and getting the cash registers pinging, the flow on effects cant be underestimated in the local community.

Will make sure I take the family up there one weekend in March/April for a drive, feed and buy from the local stores.

Re: Things that make you sad.

Lost an old footy teammate on Sunday to Cancer, top bloke who sadly I hadnt seen for about 25 years ... Day before the missus lost one of her friends suddenly and unexpectedly. Last week my old man found out he has an %80 blockage in his Corotid artery and now his missus has just been diagnosed with early on-set dementia. Not sad as such, understand how life turns to shit for everyone at some stage, but another reminder of how quickly things can change and to "make hay while the sun shines".

Yup, seems to be more of it around, or maybe just cause we are older...

Re: Cricket

I put a few of these on for interest in the BBL, this one is getting interesting -

Wells 54 runs in front of Weatherald
Inglis 15 runs in front of Marsh
Webster 45 runs behind Marsh but Marsh is finished, 2 games to get 45
Vince 53 runs behind Phillipe with probably 4 games to go

$389 shot which I estimate is now into around a $15 chance.

Re: Media Coverage

Will be interesting to see the quality of broadcast from the Digital Pass in season 2020.

After 20+ years with the same contractor providing the filming and platform for broadcasting, there is a new company involved this year.

To my knowledge, Peter Walsh is still employed by the SANFL to coordinate the Commentary Team.

He has been communicating about bringing in new people but haven't heard any names, as yet.

Time will tell.

We are doomed if Walsh is still involved, he provides no credibility at all sadly.

Wont happen but need to get rid of Thunder and Renegades, make it a 6 team competition, play each other once home/away = 10 games each, start before Christmas and have it all finished on 2nd last weekend of Jan, with a finals weekend at one venue, top team to host.

Friday night 1v2 = winner to GF
Double header Saturday, in the Arvo 3v4 then winner plays loser of 1v2 on Saturday night
GF on Sunday

In England they have a finals day, 3 finals all on same day at same venue to determine the Champion team.

The Consolidated Statutory Net Profit for the year ended 31 October 2019 for the Glenelg
Footballers’ Club (Venue) and the Glenelg Football Club (Football) was $447,050. The prime factors
were that of an improved Licensed Club result and the benefits across both Clubs for winning the

With many ovals going to all white when they replace their posts, its refreshing to see someone going the other way. Looks fantastic.
