Re: Adelaide Hills Cricket (HCA, TVCA & A&EH)

Lofty and Meadows tie in the season opener
Two ties in the one round

What are the odds!

Based on a detailed analyses of historical results of A Grade HCA one day results over the past 37 years, plus adding in a variation factor of 0.675% ive calculated the odds being 5783.84/1 rounded of to 2 decimal points. :D

Re: India v NZ

The Pakis are making easy work of it

currently 2/435

Pitch is like an Day 2 Adelaide Oval Road from the 1980s.

Windies will never get another wicket as Shannon Gabriel is bowling No Ball after No Ball, some by up to 6 - 8 inches and Paul Reiffel isnt calling them

And after missing about 5 in a row, he finally calls one.

Tests like these are KILLING TEST CRICKET. About 50 people in the crowd. Windies bowlers are the equivalent of about SACA B Grade District cricket.
And thats probably being generous.

Re: Australian International Summer

Du Plessis fined for ball tampering apparently. Does raise the question about why we bother having rules if the ICC are going to be so toothless in policing them. Whether people think it makes a difference or not, clearly Du Plessis did and in cricket, getting the ball to swing even a little more can be all the difference. This is also his second offense. Final wash up seems to be that repeatedly cheating is ok in cricket.

The ICC are the biggest, most farcical, embarrassing joke of a governing sport organization in the world.
The last few decades have been littered with numerous unsatisfactory and blatantly biased resolutions that required far stronger and more definitive actions to be undertaken.

Philander was confident that it was missing leg.... because it would have cannoned into middle

Not saying it wasn't out as clearly would have hit leg stump but as for for ball tracking to suggest that the ball actually straightened up and was hitting middle is utter Bull Crap. Ball tracking still seems very dodgy to me

Re: International Test Cricket

India are the biggest bunch of F&%^$#@D Cheating Wankers in World Cricket!
Theyve taken excessive appealing to a new level. They pressured umpire Oxenford who by the way should NEVER umpire another Test EVER into giving 2 bat pad appeals out off Ashwins bowling after the whole Indian side go running and screaming towards him insisting it was out. Both were reviewed and shown that the ball had missed the bat by a MILE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Its an utter JOKE that they consistently appeal, knowing full well its not out.

Re: Adelaide Hills Cricket (HCA, TVCA & A&EH)

Round 4 done & Dusted in A&EHCA A Grade and still no upsets.

Woodside Thrashing Wistow

Strath playing around with their batting order in their moderate run chase against Ashbourne got themselves in a little trouble b4 the Abbott brothers rescued them again to run out relatively comfortable winners as they did against the Creeks in round 1.

Lobey v Creeks was the tightest looking contest of the round and it turned out that way. Plenty of batsmen from both teams getting starts with no one going on with it to get a big score. Creeks eventually easing to a win with 6 overs and 4 wickets in hand.

Some interesting scores in the lower grades.
Mark Wimberly hitting up 140 for Lobey in a B grade 40 over game and still played on the losing team

Re: 2016/2017 Big Bash League

Would i be right in saying that the so called ADELAIDE Strikers had only 2 South Australians in their team against Hobart?
Precise reason i have little interest in this garbage comp.
Watched a fair part of the game as had little better to do.
Strikers performance was insipid.
Why does anyone get upset when their team goes crap and loses?
The comp cant be taken seriously at all.
Most of the players are just joking and clowning around on the field
Its just like WWE, its just for entertainment, results are meaningless.

The Big Bash has only one positive.
It has seduced a new audience to the game in their droves which has been great for the game. I think?

All cricket lovers should rejoice in the success of the comp for that reason alone.
To get upset over a rag tag bunch of over paid and in quite a few cases over aged players that really represent nothing is simply just not worth it.

Re: Adelaide Hills Cricket (HCA, TVCA & A&EH)

What's the feedback/vibe been in the AEHCA regarding the one-dayers?

Think its been well accepted.
Sure it hasn't solved everything but i think the positives have far outweighed the negatives and im very confident there will be a return of some clubs to A Grade next year which quite simply would not have happened if it stayed as 2 day cricket.
Looking at the Creeks 2 finals on Sat / Sun, both games showed that 45 overs a side is still plenty of time for games to fluctuate back and forth and time for batting sides to consolidate and dig their way out of trouble.
2 days byes were eliminated
A lot fewer selection dilemmas for selectors.

Always will be a few players who will complain they can only bowl 9 overs or dont get much of a bat etc BUT players not getting a go still occurred in 2 day cricket anyway.

Overall i would say that the move has been a success for sure.

Yes I meant the Junior Colts ('JC" ;) ). Though VH JC may have thought that before Saturday too. At least they scored 20 points against them when the other 6 oppositions had only managed 12 combined! Hope Creek put up some competition.

Willunga 13 - 11
Creek 2 - 0

Hope the Willunga lads enjoy their remaining 12 Saturday morning training runs.
Not their fault they're so dominant. Just not ideal but what's the answer?

Re: Great Southern Football League

I missed the game JJ, interested in your thoughts?

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Was a cracking game of contested footy.
Low scoring 1st half as both teams struggled to break free into space.
Victor flew out of the blocks at start of 3rd quarter with 3 quick goals which i thought might break the Creeks spirit but not to be denied they hung in there and kept answering the challenge.
A lot more free flowing 3rd term saw the scores tied up at 3/4 time.
Game was in the balance with about 10 minutes to go when the Creeks with maybe a little more composure were able to get on top and kick the last 3 goals to record undoubtedly their best win for the season.
Alleway threatened all day for Victor with 4 goals but the Creek overcame that by limiting his supply.
Young Creek ruckman Naylon did a fantastic job for the Hawks with many taps to advantage for them to have the better of the clearances for the day which have been the Creeks downfall in the last year or 2 in the absence of a specialist ruckman.

Umpiring - Generally think the umpiring is reasonably good in the GSFL. All players ask for is consistency. Yesterdays game i have NEVER seen so many frees paid for THROWING in a game before.
They were RED HOT on this to the point where players were almost hesitant to take the ball among opposition players as it seemed even without prior opportunity, if tackled and the ball was knocked from your possession you were pinned with throwing or incorrect disposal. Several very tough calls either way tested players temperament.
This didnt affect the result of the game and they were pretty consistent with this so players adjusted as the game went on.
This was more of an observation rather than a criticism but next match with different umpires im sure it will be a lot more relaxed.
I guess the moral of it all is that players need to quickly work umpires styles out early in a game and adjust accordingly.

Half way mark of the season and it has certainly been one of the most fascinating for many seasons.
Many teams not where many thought they would be on the table can only be healthy for the comp.
Having said that, there's no reason to expect the 2nd half of the season not to even more surprises.
Willunga one would think should finish Top
Yank are looking good for Top 3
Creeks currently 3rd have exceeded all expectations so far this season but are gonna have to keep surprising to stay there. I think they will be in a race for 4th / 5th spot with Goolwa / Pt Elliot and Victor
Mt Compass have had a slow start but are building and one would think they should do enough to finish Top 3. There huge % would suggest that
Victor along with Goolwa / Pt Elliot are certainly finals contenders and are in the mix with the Creeks for 4th / 5th spot i feel.
E Bay - 7th with 3 wins face a huge task to make up the leeway to make the 5. Guess they shouldn't be completely ruled out but ........
Myp / Sellicks, Strath (surprisingly) and McLaren all seem to be out of the running barring a miracle tho all i feel will shape the finals makeup with some upsets in the 2nd half of the season.

Re: AFL round 13

31k in perfect weather. Was the quietest whilst I've been working at footy games there.

No doubt the excuses about time slot will get rolled out. Pathetic crowd.

Whats with the obsession of whinging about / bagging clubs / bagging supporters when crowd numbers are perceived to be lower than expected or below average?
Honestly, Who gives a F**K ?
It is what it is
People have the right to go or not to go as they wish.
31 - 32 K surely wasn't a surprise to anyone considering the time slot and playing the bottom team.
I personally know quite a number of members that usually go but were all involved in their local footy which surprise surprise clashed with the AFL game.
You expect them to desert their local footy to go?
Being live on telly week in week out also is an easy attractive option for people to save some $$$ and stay home and save their money for a marquee match.
Most of the Victorian clubs are pulling a lot shitter crowds but who cares?
Why is it a big deal to people?

Re: Great Southern Football League

Well 1st round of the 2nd half of the season and the upsets continued.
3 teams reversing their Round 1 losses.

Not surprisingly Mt Compass reversed their result against the Creek with a dominant 16 goal win with Pinyon and Hill having a day out up forward.
Completely outclassed the Hawks with the margin accentuated by straight kicking by the Dogs where as the Hawks were well off line with Warren playing only his 3rd game for the season found the ball ok but was horribly lacking confidence kicking for goal as his 1goal 6 behinds suggests and that 1 goal was doubtful as well.

The up and down Goolwa / Pt Elliot Magpies inflicted Willungas 1st defeat for the season in well and truly comprehensive fashion trouncing the Demons by 50 points whilst restricting them to a miserly 6 - 3

The other Major upset was Strath also reversing their Round 1 loss to Victor by a surprisingly easy 46 points restricting Victor to just 5 goals in perfect conditions.

Bays got over the Hapless McLaren Eagles by the same 4 goal margin as their 1st round to keep their remote finals hopes alive whilst McLaren continue to be very competitive without winning.

Yankalilla consolidated 2nd spot on the ladder with a relatively comfortable win over Myponga / Sellicks despite having 1 less scoring shot. An accurate 9 - 2 surprisingly being enough against the Larks 5 - 7

Round 11

Creek host Goolwa / Pt Elliot in what could be a season defining match for both. Had a Draw in Round 2 and both are locked on 11 points each in 4th and 5th spot. Form lines from last week could not be more apart but that seems to account for little these days.
I feel the Creek will need to snatch a win here or their early season confidence and momentum gained could diminish quickly and see them tumble from the finals race.

E Bay will need to get over the Mudlarks who have performed well in the last month to keep their Finals hopes alive

Strath will certainly find out if they are back on track after an abysmal 1st half of the season by hosting Compass who seem to have finally awoke from their Premiership Hangover

Willunga should bounce back after a wake up call last week by accounting for their neighbors McLaren but certainly wouldn't want to take them too lightly.

Yank hammered Victor in Round 2 and have been consistent since where as Victor have certainly been up and down with their form.
The Roos narrowly went down to Willunga by only 7 points, then Beat Compass to suggest they're the real deal but then follow up with losses to Creek and Strath and that on top of being the only team to lose to McLaren. Certainly hard to follow.

Not making any tips for any matches as nothing would surprise me.

Re: Great Southern Football League

4 rounds to go and i'm tipping the 5 is set after yesterdays results.
Creeks eliminated the Bays finals chances by thumping them yesterday and should seal their return to finals action for the 1st time since 2014 by defeating Myp/Sellicks next week
Bays wont win another game for the season, kept trying hard all day yesterday but are too undermanned it seems allowing Creeks to kick too many easy goals
Victor are the team that could kick Goolwa/PE out of 5th spot and they get their chance to do that this week
Given their respective draws for the last 4 rounds, a Victor loss should see them out of the race and even if they do win, i'd still favour G/PE to regain 5th with the easier draw they have.
Strath with their upset win over Willunga yesterday are still mathematically a chance to grab 5th and should at least win their next 3 games and finish with Yank which they'd be every chance to beat now they have got some of their quality players back. That would give them 18 points which 50% of the time is enough to play finals but maybe not this year as i can see both Creeks and G/PE finishing with 19 points at least.
Only possible change to the Top 3 is Compass grabbing top off Willunga. For that to happen, Compass need to win their last 4 matches which they would be likely to do if they start with beating Willunga this week. Then they would need to bank on Willunga dropping another game, Against the Creek at the Creek a possibility.
Tipping the table after Round 18 may look like this
1/ Willunga
2/ Mt Compass
3/ Yank
4/ G/PE
5/ L Ck
6/ VH
7/ Strath
8/ E Bay
9/ Myp/Sellicks
10/ McLaren

Re: Is Cricket losing its appeal to the general public.

Not sure about the General Public.
Obviously the Big Bask has been a big hit with the public along with Night Test cricket at Adelaide Oval
Other than the Ashes, i think the rest has all become a bit Ho Hum.

Personally i've been a SACA / AO Member for over 30 years but i will NOT be renewing my membership this year and most likely ever again.
I guess thats a sign i've lost interest at 1st class level to a degree. Have ZERO interest in the Big Bash. Test matches have been live on telly in recent years so easy just to stay home. Shield cricket i used to go to but are now at Glenelg or when at AO are during the week these days so not convenient to attend.
Used to go to Domestic 1 dayers but SA dont even get to host them any more.

My interest in cricket at my local club is as strong as ever and appreciate and enjoy following the fortunes of my local country mates playing for fun 100 times more than the over paid Internationals playing for the sake of earning as much money as they can not that you can blame them tho.

Re: Great Southern Football League

I note on the SFL thread that they are considering a 2 div comp, well, actually just pushing Marion and OSB / Lonsdale to the C grade! Unfortunately I think SFL is cooked. Out of curiosity, throwing it out there for discussion. If a SFL club formed / created a partnership with a netball club and had sufficient teams in both the footy and netball, would you allow them to enter the GSFL?

How many teams would you consider to join?
what do you think would be the pro's and con's?

GSFL has been a stable 10 club comp for the last 40 years
10 seems to be the ideal number and i would be shocked if they moved away from that
Only 2 new clubs have entered in that time
Willunga replacing Milang in the early to mid 1980s and McLaren early 2000s? when Port Elliot merged with Goolwa
Cant really see any advantage at all in increasing the number of clubs

Creek beat Willunga
Victor beat Compass
The game at McLarens was a ripper
Strath and Pongy decided by less than a goal

Seriously, how good is the GSFL??

Next week's games are rippers too

Strath v Yank
GPE v Compass
Vh v the creek will all shape finals Something i bet the SFL is envious of [emoji108][emoji108]

Wow Weeeeeee
What a round of results!
4th beats top
3rd beats bottom by a goal
6th beats 2nd
5th beats 8th just
7th who recently easily beat top beats 9th by 4 points

Just when i was predicting with confidence what the final 5 would be in order, it has been thrown into chaos after todays results
And after the season we've had, we shouldn't be surprised.
Willunga, Compass and Yank who have held the top 3 spots for the 2nd half of the season are all spluttering into the finals.

Willunga WILL finish Top
Yank currently 2nd could finish 4th if they lose to Strath and Creek beat Victor and Compass beat Goolwa?PE
Creeks 3rd (WOW ! Who saw that coming, won last 6 in a row) Will keep the double chance if they beat Victor and can finish 2nd 3rd or 4th depending on results
Compass who have the BEST % are 4th believe it or not and are now reliant on other results to get the double chance
Golwa?PE 5th need to beat Compass to ensure 5th spot or run the risk of missing out if Victor beat the Creek.
Strath are the other form team of the comp in the last 5 weeks but cant make it but can spoils Yanks party tho

One of the most even topsy turvy seasons ever in GSFL with basically 3 finals next week of vital importance b4 the finals even begin.

Willunga must still be in the box seat tho as finishing top under the final 5 system is huge even tho a fair % of minor premiers have failed to win the flag over the years.

More than ever, teams that have the ability to field close to their full side during the finals will go a long way as it seems injuries and absentees have had a major influence on results this year.
Credit to the Creeks on their season so far, coming from 9th last year with not a lot different side to then but have been fortunate to meet many teams when they have been vulnerable with players missing but have been good enough to take advantage of it. Dont think they can win the flag but the way this season has gone, NOTHING should surprise anyone.

I think a lot of country leagues would love to have the evenness of the GSFL atm.

Having said that , Willunga are a fair chance to win ALL 4 Flags and people may have reason to think otherwise.

Re: Great Southern Football League

Is that actual legit?!!

Sure is.
Not an uncommon sight.
Flooding of the township is a result of the Bremer River flooding which has its catchment in the Mt Barker Area.
The Oval goes completely under on average about every 7 -8 years. Went under 3 times last Sept / Oct and before that was Sept 2010 when the Grand Final was transferred to Goolwa at the last minute.
Oval was under water as shown in the photo 14 days before the start of cricket season last year and play went ahead as scheduled. Not a bad effort considering they play on turf wickets.
Allowing for reasonable weather in the next 2 weeks the oval should be in reasonable condition for the 2nd Semi Final
If Mt Barker cops 30 - 40 mm of rain on any one day in coming weeks then the repeat will happen and the Finals will need to be shifted.

Probably miss at least 3 anyway with the injury received from the incident he retaliated to. What actually happened?? Was it something that LCFC considered submitting a club report?

I Wasn't at the game so can only go on what i was told
From what i can gather it was an allegedly unnecessarily forceful strike to the midriff in the act of play. Unfortunately suffered an internal injury as a result from it that may see him miss the entire Finals series.
Not an incident a club would consider worthy of reporting.

Not sure what would constitute a report these days especially if one tries to make sense of the AFLs MRP rulings these days

Re: Great Southern Football League

Umpires role 1st and foremost is to umpire the game. To expect them to accurately determine who is the fairest and most brilliant player is a bit much to expect.

No better example of this than Round 18 Victor v Creek
Best 3 players for the Creek on the day were Howell, Derham and Kellock with daylight to the others.

Mail Medal Votes were

1 vote - Tarqiun Brown (VH)
2 votes - Damien James (L Ck)
3 votes Thomas Derham (L Ck)

Damien "Roudy" James has been a consistent hard at it, no nonsense contributor for the Hawks over a long period of time but on Saturday had a real downer by his own admission and probably wasnt in the Creeks top 15 best players yet received 2nd Best on ground by the umpires.
Umpires obviously didnt notice or rate one guy for the Creek who had 46 possessions and another who slotted 6 goals whilst playing on the ball or
also the numerous Victor players that played well also.

If this wasn't a blatant mistake in the recording of the votes, then it really is obvious the umpires have no idea.
As ive said before, There are plenty of games where it wouldnt be easy selecting best players but this match was about as easy as it could get.
So if this error / Mistake / cock up / gross mis judgement happened in the very last match that comes to mind, how many other matches throughout the year have there been bogus votes awarded?
At the end of the day, the recipient Nathan Daniel by all reports was a very worthy winner no doubt but so to may have been a few others close up that may have been denied votes due to scenarios as mentioned.

Anyway, onto more important discussion - Finals

Creek v Compass
Score is 1 win each this season.
Creek getting over Compass in Round 1 when it seemed Compass were still basking in the glory of their 1st flag for 36 years.
Come Round 10 when Compass with a near full strength side, UTTERLY DECIMATED the Hawks to the tune of 16 goals.
Since then the Hawks have really put some good footy together to string together 7 wins on the trot whilst Compass have been a bit patchy with their form and were lucky in the end to grab back 3rd spot and the all important double chance.

Tip - If Compass are near full strength then they should be too good for the Creeks who will be fully tested for depth as after having had a relatively good run with injuries throughout the year certainly have some concerns coming into the Finals.

Elim Final Yank v Goolwa / PE
2 teams that have been hard hit by injuries in the latter part of the season by all reports.
Yank will be bitterly disappointed after basically being assured of a top 3 spot all season only to see it snatched from them in the last round.
Whilst Goolwa / PE are counting their lucky stars after ultimately relying the Creeks to knock off Victor to retain their 5th spot ranking after being pummeled by Compass.
Hard one to pick for sure. Guessing it depends on which team has most of their list available as both have shown with close to a full list they would be genuine Flag contenders.

Re: Great Southern Football League

Creek v Compass game was interesting for the fact it turned out to be surprisingly close after Compass looked to have it in the bag at 3/4 time
Certainly wasn't a game for the highlights reel as was mostly a scrappy, error riddled affair
After an even 1st term where both defenses were on top, Compass flexed their muscle in the 2nd and 3rd terms to build a match winning 31 point lead at 3/4 time.
With the Creeks having no bench left with Mortensen, Domonish and Lally off for the match injured, one would have expected the Dogs to run away with the match but to the Creeks credit they dug deep to amazingly kick the 1st 4 goals of the last term to get within 5 points with 5 minutes to go and Compass appeared to be out on their feet before ultimately scoring a late goal against the run of play to halt the Creeks momentum and scrape home by 11 points.

Yank Thrashed Goolwa / PE by 98 points which was surprising considering their recent form.
Didnt see the game so hard to judge how impressive they were.

1st Semi Final L Creek v Yank
Score is 1 - 1 in the Minor Round
Tough to pick. Again a lot hinges on either side getting close to their best line up on the field.
Creeks have a few injury concerns out of Saturdays game which may / will see a few changes at least.
Ben Warren returning should give the Creeks a better looking set up up forward as this is where for 3/4s against Compass they looked non functional
Brother Nick has served his suspension and maybe available if recovered from injury.
Yank should be full off confidence after their Elim Final win and knowing they outclassed the Creeks easily early in the season when they were up and running.

2nd Semi Final Willunga v Compass.
Score is 2 -= 0 to Willunga in Minor Round. By 1 point when the game was called off in Rd 6 and then 8 - 5 to 4 - 8 in Rd 15
Again hard to tip as both teams coming into finals had patchy form
Wouldnt be surprised if its a hard fought scrappy congested low scoring affair despite playing on the shortish Creek Oval which should be in reasonable nick despite being under water a week ago.

Re: Australia Tour of Bangladesh

Can the umpiring in this match get any worse? Long just fires the batsman out Bat / Pad. Replay showed he missed it by 3 feet !!!!!!!!!!!
Australians only half appealed as well.
Thank Christ for DRS as imperfect as it is

Re: Australia Tour of Bangladesh

Wins by the Windies and the Bangers in the last 24 hours has been one of the best things to happen in Test cricket for YEARS
For Test cricket to survive and Flourish, it cant afford to have countries consistently at the bottom of the heap and uncompetitive for up to decades at a time.

Re: AFLW - Womens AFL

Anyone watching the SOO Vics v Allies??

Why the F*** would anyone ?
Only heard about this match yesterday.
So they play a 7 match season in Feb / March and then out of the blue have a S.O.O. match in September .
Was this just an afterthought by the AFL to play this to try to fill in the BYE weekend?
AFL wont bring back S.O.O. for the Men but have one for the Women which is just utterly pointless?
Even more so when one team is "The Allies"

Surely the World Domino Chamionships are on one of the other channels to entertain me?

Re: Adelaide Hills Cricket (HCA, TVCA & A&EH)

Announced at tonights AGM

Mt Barker are to step back up to A Grade for the 1st time since 2011/12 which will eliminate the Bye thankfully

Also Milang are back after being in recession for the last 2 seasons. They're looking at fielding a B Grade which is great news.

Looks like the A Grade BYE is back in ?

BUT for a good reason

It appears Hahndorf are set to resume in A Grade again to take the total teams to 9

Seems the decision to go to an ALL one day comp for A Grade is paying off.

Re: Finals Week 1

How many chances did Port have to basically seal the game in the last few minutes of normal time and then again in Extra time?
I reckon at least half the team will be having sleepless nights for weeks knowing that they individually basically had the chance to seal the win and CHOKED BIG TIME

Port have a shocking record of losing close games in recent years.
They simply have too many players that lack composure under pressure.
West Coast may have been lucky to win but Port were certainly NOT unlucky to lose.
And FWIT i think W Coast were unlucky in extra time with a numbers of Free kicks that the umpires missed.

Re: Finals week 2

Newtons 3rd law of motion - "For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction".

Well that applies to footy as well it seems

After apparently coming off the Greatest season EVER for great games and close and amazing finishes, We now cop the SHITTEST FINALS SERIES EVER with boring crap one sided matches.
Even the close match was SHIT with only the closeness of the scores making it exciting.

Re: Adelaide Hills Cricket (HCA, TVCA & A&EH)

Mt Barker have pulled the pin on their return to A Grade which means its back to 8 teams
Gets rid of the 2 Byes meaning there will be 18 Qualifying matches for each team instead of 16

Re: Finals Week 3

Glad the AFL have their minds on ensuring the YES vote gets over the line rather than what is turning out to be the most Boring, Uninspiring and Shithouse Finals series of ALL TIME !!!!
And Gill the Dill still wants to keep the F*&^%^&G bounce despite the clowns in Green stuffing every second bounce up

Re: Finals Week 3

Martin gifted a Free kick and goal with the SOFTEST FREE KICK EVER for holding.
If youre gonna pay a Free kick for that then there should be a Free kick paid at EVERY SINGLE MARKING CONTEST.
Soft free kicks should be outlawed in Finals.

Re: 2017 Grand Final : Adelaide v Richmond

Thats a disgraceful decision. No consistency whatsoever.

The MRPs lack of consistency and logic is an embarrassment to the game.

I think everyone knows by now that under the rules and guidelines set down that Cotchin was guilty of at least some charge which would have seen him miss next week but we also all knew that the MRP wouldn't have the balls to follow through with making the correct decision because of the frenzied Chaos that would have followed and it was easier to make the sentimental decision.

Re: 2017 Grand Final : Adelaide v Richmond

Has there ever been such a shit, uninspiring, one sided Finals series such as this one? Apart from the Port v West Coast game which was shit as well, was just the closeness of the scores that made it interesting, all the games were over by early in the 3rd quarter if not at qtr time.

Amazing how on the back of just 1 loss after being the best team all year that Crows supporters are bagging so many of their players for not being up to it and need to get rid of half the team.

Re: Australia Domestic Season 2017/18

There have been a few adjustments to the laws of cricket over the years that have just kept the game up with modern times but this particular law is quite simply an unnecessary bolt from the blue. Since when has there been a problem with the type of conduct they are talking about that supposedly brings the spirit of the game into question? Surely a law change like this may be more appropriate for u/10s or something but not competitive senior cricket !
