Re: Southern Football League

Contract Extension:
The Reynella Committee is proud to announce the re-appointment of Gianni Petrucci as Senior Coach for the 2016/17 seasons.
Gianni has coached the Reynella A grade for the last 3 seasons, after joining Reynella as our B gradecoach in 2010, he has taken us to the 2013 Flag and has us in a strong position at this stage in the 2015 quest for the flag.
Our team strength while built around a strong senior playing group have developed even further through G’s work with our Junior groups, seeing some of these Juniors now taking on leadership roles.
G has formed strong ties with Reynella over the last 5 years and along with his family Hayley, Eva, Max and Louie they now call Reynella home.
With G’s strengths to communicate and command the respect of his players we believe that our Club has prospered under G’s leadership and his development of the Juniors over the last 5 years and has placed our club in a very strong position for many years to come.
Please join me in congratulating Gianni on his appointment and get behind him for the remainder of the 2015 season and the future in 2016/17 !!

Re: Southern Football League

I tend to agree with TigerPie, it is a winter sport and not every oval can be the same. Reynella oval would get a lot of traffic because Over 35s play there too . No use complaining ShoeBoy both sides play on it so it is fair for both.[/quote ]

Agree about both sides playing on that deck but that does not change my opinion about the surface or lack of!!

To be fair to you shoe boy you've been stuck on a wetty two years in a row.
Love to put a roof over it but then you'd complain its too hard!
The SFL look after you pretty well, go whinge to them.

Re: Southern Football League

In a year when the standard of umpiring was at an all time low ,how do we get 3 umps in finals?
It should only be about quality and not quantity !

On the w/end I would like to congratulate the Brighton footy club on the win Saturday and wish them and the Reynella footy club all the best for the w/end.

PS Highlight for me was yesterday watching the President of Flaggies giving it to a twat from Flaggies that does that club no favours. =D>

Mail medal tonight ,
My tip for A grade Sheerer and big Shane Comer to win the B grade .
Good luck to all.

SFL on Channel 44

Was at the Adelaide Oval barracking for the Country side, as they demolished the City team. Was talking to Craig Warman the president down on the bench. He was the team manager of the Country side. Good to see the SFL president as the team manager. Craig said that the SFL have been invited to do a segment on Channel 44 next Wednesday during the Sport Show with Phil Symth. The SFL patron Johnny Hall and Craig himself, will be talking on air. Looking at making it a weekly event he said. Awesome work from Craig to get the SFL more publicity on C44. Well done Country on an amazing win today. Well done to SFL players, Michael Shearer (Flagstaff Hill), Jack Carter (Marion), NIck Mott (Noarlunga) and Will Rivers (Brighton) for making the side.

Re: Southern Football League

Great Presentation Night for the Brighton Bombers tonight. We leave the SFL with a heavy heart after 20 senior and 23 junior seasons. The SFL has provided us with the opportunity to grow our juniors from nothing. We joined in 1994 with 2 junior teams because local high school football folded at the end of 1993 and there was no Metro South JFL back then. After 3 years of junior growth in the SFL we moved our seniors over and our club continued to grow to where we are today. Our decision to re-join the SAAFL is partly due to the junior options now available in our area particularly with the SANFL Juniors comp not to mention the continued challenges we have faced with the Public/Private school demographic of our juniors. Despite some issues with a few problem clubs, the administration of the SAAFL has never been stronger and we believe the timing is right to make the move. The opportunity to enter Division 3 was a faIr offer and will give us a chance to make an immediate impact. We will however miss the strong rivalries and respect we developed with many SFL clubs. It's a pity that plenty of outsiders take pot shots at the SFL on the back of some one sided results because there has always been 8 or 9 SFL clubs that would put most other clubs in SA to shame with how well they are run. Then again, there is an old adage that states you are only as strong as your weakest link so that will continue to be the challenge for the SFL and its clubs.

Our winners tonight:

A grade B & F - Mark Jolly Medal
1st - Will Rivers
2nd - John McPherson
3rd - Todd Johnstone

B grade - Alex Pietrus
C grade - Adam Bettineschi
U18 - Jack Chalmers
