Re: Adelaide Footy League Division 6 - 2017

Mawson Lakes vs Elizabeth
A few ML players might of had to cancel their round of golf this Saturday after the news swirled through on Wednesday morning. However their smiles then turned upside down when the game was called back on. No doubt about it their going to need an improve performance from last week otherwise they could be looking at another flogging by 100 pts. Elizabeth would be disappointed in the way they performed last week allowing Houghton back into the game after halftime. The only difference was Darryl Cotter due to Houghton not having anyone strong enough to go with the key forward. Look for Jordan Stewart & Austin Reeves to continue their strong starts to the season.
Elizabeth by 97 pts

Pulteney Vs West Croydon
Game of the week sees Pulteney host WC and many questions will be answered after this game.
Can Pulteney win against a Top 5 side after playing Fitzroy, Houghton, SW & ML to start the year?
How will WC pull up after a hard fought win against Ingle Farm?
Jack Turner was crucial in the first half last week kicking 5 majors playing as a small forward and rolling through the midfield at times. Can he continue this on Saturday?
Will Luke Nicholls be able to stop former South Adelaide back turn forward Josh Giddings from adding to his already growing goal tally?
The Blues have made 4 changes to their side the most they have had to make to start the season will this affect their chemistry?
Pulteney by 17 points

Ingle Farm Vs Fitzroy
Well Fitzroy finally got that first win for the season which they'll be hoping they can transfer this Saturday. After 2 weeks of 4 changes to the team lineup can the lions finally find that settled formation? Its not a good start with last weeks BOG Damian Harvey missing this weekends action. Ingle farm would be disappointed with how they played as team last week especially with how easy WC managed to win the ball out of the middle after half time. The Bulldogs will be pumped for this one after 2 loses in consecutive weeks expect a response. A lot of responsibility will be given to Steve Gannell as the farmers are without three of their best this weekend Grae Grant, Paul Bone and Anthony Spence.
Ingle Farm 22 points

Brahma Lodge Vs Houghton
Brahma Lodge had the game won at half time but threw it away after injuries took its toll and SW run became to much. McIntyre only booted 3 goals and the tigers will be looking to supply him some more ball to improve his favoritism to be the goal kicking god in Div 6. Houghton on the other hand would be reasonably happy with their performance against Elizabeth. They struggled early on but coach Almond would be happy with how his players fought till the very end and got within a couple of goals in the 3rd quarter.

Re: Adelaide Footy League Division 6 - 2017

Well done yesterday Zartan (B Grade) excellent game to watch in the terrible conditions.

I thought Cassius was your best player on the day when you needed a spark or some run he always delivered and put the Elizabeth boys under pressure.

There were some anxious moments in the last minute very gutsy kicking across goal with that wind but your boys held on well congrats!!

Should give your lads a lot of confidence heading into the finals.

Re: Adelaide Footy League Division 6 - 2017

Elizabeth will have too much class tomorrow and beat Brahma Lodge quite convincingly. The eagles also have the depth as their bottom 4-5 players would make BL team with ease where as Brahma has a couple players who have only played 2-3 games at A grade level and one player who hasn't even played one match in the A's. Look for Upton to intercept everything that comes McIntyre's way while Makris, Hann, Reeves and Greenshields dominate the midfield. I haven't even mentioned Woodland, Shepard or Cotter any other team in Div 5 would be jealous to have such an formidable forward set up. They are the team to stop going for 9 wins inarrow its a well oiled machine which will continue to roll on. If BL has any hope of securing the upset win McIntyre needs to kick a HUGE bag for any chance.

Elizabeth by 52 points

At Rowe Park this will be a much closer affair and history has shown these too teams always comes down to the last couple of plays. On their home deck the farmers have a clear advantage with Steve Gannell in ruck but the question will be how well can they use their strength and supply the midfield. Anthony Spence will be the first player Trinity will try to stop as the forward/midfielder is in career best form having kicked 19 goals and getting in the best players 11 times over his 16 games this year. Trinity on the other hand have quite a number of players returning from holidays/ injuries so will they be match fit come Saturday? Winning back will strengthen their backline which has looked a bit shaky at times and will also provide that critical run from defence where they draw up much of their set plays.

Re: Adelaide Footy League Division 6 - 2017

Hosie,

I know you read this forum religiously (probably mostly in the hope you get a mention), so here is some feedback.

If you are gonna stick you big ugly pig head on camera, and you're gonna report/congratulate sides on their premierships.. PLEASE FFS do some research and get the names right!

"Congratulations to Mick O'Leary and the lads at Pulteney on the D6 premiership"

Correct me if i'm wrong, but isn't O'Leary the coach of Old Iggies in Div 2?

Pretty sure Will James was the coach of the Blues this season.

Sincerly,
The bloke who knows more than you.

TJ the only one with actual intel on the games the rest just read off the website shits me to tears!

Re: Adelaide Footy League Division 5 - 2018

Woodville South Vs Hectorville
Woody south has their second game of the season at home against a very enthused Hectorville Hounds. I feel as though the cats are the sleeping giants in this division any time you have an ex AFL listed player in your team they can really take control eg like last week kicking a lazy 8 goals. The Hounds will also need to give a bit of attention to Brett Hains a skillful mid who gets plenty of the ball. Hectorville caused the upset of the week in round 1 they will be a tough side to crack on their own ground this year. Woodville south to win comfortably due to their bigger bodied midfielders in wet conditions.

Re: Adelaide Footy League Division 5 - 2018

Kenilworth Vs Blackfriars
Kenilworth would be feeling deflated after what was looking like a good start to the season ended with multiple casualties on the sidelines. They’ve made 4 changes to last week’s team and will need midfielder Henry Stewart to play another solid game for the kookaburras if they have any chance of a win. Blackfriars were up at three quarter time against their rivals Lockleys and again were unable to get over the line. Brincat and Adam Pearce will make an excellent rucking partnership this year and expect them to kick over 60-70 goals between by the end of the season. Aaron Smith will be a great pick up for the hounds the ex Immauel College student will add some much need class across half forward.

Re: Adelaide Footy League Division 5 - 2018

Media Ban on Div 5??

I think most people reckon that the teams playing this weekend are basically playing for second spot.

CBC have locked up the premiership and the rest are playing for promotion. :)

Woodville South are playing the best footy heading into finals with some pretty consistent games over the last 6 weeks:

Lost CBC 4 points
Won Pulteney 52 points
Won Smithfield 33 points
Won Kenilworth 38 points
Won Lockleys 10 points
Won Blackfriars 46 points

They have an even spread of their best players across the field Smith (Forward/Back), Hains (Midfield), Summer (Forward) and Brusnahan (Back). They also have the height to match key forwards down back and the strength up forward to kick a big score. The most impressive part for me is their young kids that play on the wing good luck in catching them. They might of finished in 5th but they'll be CBC's biggest challenge if they can remain unbeaten.
