Sounds like you're making excuses ;)

Could be worse, they could've given their Premiership winning coach the arse.

Re: 2021 Adel Footy League - Division 5

Obviously can never make up for losing a flag, but reckon Kenilworth would feel pretty chuffed and gain some degree of vengeance being the side that stopped Lockleys progressing to the major round this year.

Re: 2021 Adel Footy League - Division 5

Congrats to pooraka football club on winning the premiership and also to there supporters who really got behind there team in great numbers.
Lockleys winning the b and c grade premierships, you lads seem like a cracking group and supporters were right behind there players. Clubs are built on cultures and from what I seen lockleys has a fantastic one.
Kenilworth man that a tough day to earn the right to play off in 3 grand finals to pull up short in all off them would hurt. To there supporters and players good luck next season hopefully success comes.

Thanks to all the players for putting on a show and also a big thanks for keeping our change room in a pretty decent state. Hopefully everyone enjoyed the effort the kilburn footy club put into hosting the finals and really appreciated the support and had success in all area. Bars, canteen and the bbq all doing extremely well.

Cheers to all and good luck next season.

Re: ATCA

What a great win by Ingle Farm yesterday .... so proud of the boys. That's 2 A1 premierships in 3 years, but this year is so much more satisfying that how we won in 2020. Chris McLean won the toss which gave the Farmers the chance to bat first. This would prove to be critical. They got off to a good start with Matt Cuconits looking rock solid, but Tyson Roling struck twice just before tea. A critical moment straight after tea, when Jhaih Baxter gets a leading edge to his first ball and it ballons over cover. He survives and proceeds to blaze 59 off 50 balls before he holes out to big full toss from Carey. Lachy Sandercock starts hitting bombs, but gets run out after some brilliant fielding by Cam Williams, his 28 is very valuable. Ingle Farm achieve their aim and bat to 80th over with 225 on the board. Roling and Carey were both brilliant with the ball, as they have been all season.
At the start of day 2 both teams would have been quietly confident. Para Hills have a very powerful batting line up, but Ingle Farm would back their bowlers to defend any score over 200. The Farmers get off to a quick start with Luke Pickford picking up both openers. Parton and Williams steady the ship and get to the tea break with both looking rock solid. ..... but there's still a long way to go. Pickford and Sandercock bowl really well before and after tea and the Para Hills bats get bogged down. Pickford gets Williams and it game on. When Curtis Wordsworth is dismissed, you can feel the tension because Para Hills have their big hitters lined up. Robbie McCard gets run out attempting a single that wasn't there and Tom Parton is brilliantly caught by Maurie Sandery off his own bowling. That leaves Kyle Parks and Dylan Hiscock at the crease. For brief moment Para Hills are back in the game. Chris McLean has done his hamstring and is off the ground and a couple of big bombs by Hiscock, but Sandercock gets one through him. Tyson Roling takes on Sandery's arm from the boundary and loses, Parks holes out and Sandercock wraps it up .... joyous scenes for the Farmers! Tom Parton's innings was full of class, but the Ingle Farm bowlers, in particular the three quicks led by Luke Pickford were brilliant. Well done to Para Hills on their season, they have played great cricket all year.
Congratulations to Chris McLean and the boys ..... you beauty!

Re: Horse Racing Tips & Discussion

Really, an odd/ungainly action?

I haven't seen it run in person and I didn't get to see the run today because of vision issues with Sky. I hope to watch the replay later tonight. I got on it at $4.60 prior to the favourite being scratched. All up I got it at about $2.98 on Sportsbet. Not too bad. And a win which is good.

The field looked pretty week without Sioux running but all you can do is beat the others, hey?

Re: Horse Racing Tips & Discussion

Watched it's 4 starts, it can't jump with the field, it's either wide or boxed in on the rails.
Race it won came from 2nd last on the outside in a field of 8.
Worth a dollar each way maybe, although the stable can produce big priced winners at times.
I think the odds balloon on their horses because the jock is crap and every now and then they get gifted a peaceful run.

Asheligh Stanley Jockey. This season 30 starts 1 win 1 place

Last 50 starters.

Re: Horse Racing Tips & Discussion

AR 5 # 3, Garrire
Should’ve won first up, apprentice couldn’t control it coming around the home turn, lost countless lengths. Flashes home for fourth beaten a length.
Same grade, senior jockey aboard today - $4.60 looks generous.

Re: 2024 Adelaide Footy League - Division 6

Coached to play bruise free, out in the open football, bashed up in both finals and the players had no idea how to respond.
Maybe that speaks more about the players than the coach.

Is pleasing to hear they are scared of a hard ball given some have gone to Eastern Park this year.. :D 8)

winning the hard ball is still a thing these days?

Re: 2024 Adelaide Footy League - Division 6

You seem to be bit touchy Password Please  Firstly scottroo is a passionate CLG man and often makes tongue in cheek comments. After all, this is a forum not to be taken too seriously.

Secondly I’ve seen Pooraka close up in the last 2 seasons in Div 4, and this conversation should probably be taken to that forum. After all we are taking the spotlight off the mighty demons, flag faves.

Thirdly from what I saw of Pooraka, there is no real failure there. They progressed really well in the last 2 years under Hickey and changed the age dimension a bit this year which was a plus. Week off first week of finals then lost a home final to Lockleys which most expected them to win but I said to many during the year that I believed Lockleys and CBC were the best teams in the comp. So the 2 finals losses has had a negative impact with many looking to different reasons to leave, maybe the expectation was too high after finishing on top. The problem now is rebuilding it again.
