Re: Tasmania

4 weeks until we get back to Tassie, for those who have been along the East Coast what are the must see's? We have a wineglass bay boat trip booked and going to skip Maria Island this time

Out of St Helens we did a Bay of Fires drive and had a swim, great beaches up there. You could do this in 2 hours or spend all day. Quick drive to the lookout at Binalong Bay then up to The Gardens where there's numerous beaches, we swam at Cosy Corner North. Coming into St Helens, 30 mins away is Pyengana Dairy and St Columba Falls, both on the same road and worth a quick visit.

The Lobster Shack and The Blowhole at Bicheno were good stops on our way to Freycinet NP. Highlight by far was a Freycinet scenic helicopter flight, was only 25mins but worth every cent, even spotted a decent size shark lurking off Friendly Beach.

Re: Things that make you sad.

Not knocking* anyone who participates or participated, but I could never bring myself to visit those places.
I know blokes that are quite happy to shell out $100 a week to have an empty as it ends up far cheaper and painless than having a woman.

Each to their own, they’re happy blokes who do what they like when they like and bang a hottie once a week

For a Granny Smith, reckon they're bangin a Barry, not a Hottie

Re: Tasmania

What a place, will definitely go back. Weather was perfect except one day in Hobart.

Highlights:
Wineglass Bay Helicopter flight - Jaw dropping view of the Bay & The Hazards
Port Arthur Site - A must visit for all Australians
Tasman Island Cruise - Up close to the cliffs and marine wildlife
Swimming in Stewarts Bay - Forest neets the sea, clear, calm waters, super refreshing
MONA - Good vibe, some weird shit
The Wall of Wilderness - Super impressive wood carvings that tell a story
Lake St Clair - Stunning morning walk
Gordon River Cruise (Red Boat) - The journey out to Macquarie Head just as good as the river itself
Western Explorer Drive - Remote, awesome country for most of it
The Nut - Sea fog rolled in while up there, challenging climb
Cradle Mountain - Great walk around Dove Lake
Beaconsfield Mine - Overwhelming, the dedicated section to the resue bought a tear to our eye

Food Highlights:

Bruny Island - Oysters, fresh sourdough from a fridge on the side of the road, cheese, distillery overlooking the water
Lobster Shack - Lobster Rolls were delicious
Freycinet Marine Farm - Casual setting for fresh seafood
Derwent Bridge Hotel - Medieval looking pub run by a Sri Lankan, best Chicken Curry I've eaten
Food Van opposite the Post Office in Strahan - amazing Fish n Chips, hard to go back to Flake after experiencing Blue Trevalla
Hursey Seafoods Stanley - Fresh Crayfish
Black Cow Launceston - Best Eye Fillet steak I've eaten

Accommodation Highlights:

Freycinet Lodge - Coastal Bay Pavillion for our anniversary, luxurious and private, mini bar included daily
Stewarts Bay Lodge - Great view of the Bay, easy walk to Port Arthur site and swimming beach
Tiny Escapes Cradle Valley - Unique accommodation in a tiny house, lucky they have a sofa bed though but the stars at night with bourbon in hand were out of this world
The Inlet Stanley - Private farm with beachfront accommodation

Things we missed out on that we wanted to do:

Wilderness Railway - reduced journey due to maintenance so didn't bother
Tahune Airwalk - Got cancelled due to bad weather
Huon Jet Boat - Slept in after a big night out drinking with a Yankee couple in Salamanca
Aspley River Waterhole - wanted to pop in for a dip but rsn out of time

Re: AFL Round 3

Why is neither North or Carlton wearing their traditional jumper?
It's Norths home game, I know, but they could be mistaken for the Bulldogs.
Brand is everything, what's Norths?
Shinboner, blue and white stripes.

Unlike a Collingwood supporter to not understand the wearing of an alternative strip :P

Probably to do with The Good Friday Appeal, a limited edition guernsey would hold more value being auctioned off perhaps.

Re: AFL Round 3

This quarter will decide the Crows season.

Play this bad....lose and go 0-3 they arent coming back from that.

Somehow find a win despite playing so bad....1-2. They can regroup and find some confidence from winning.

Was always going to struggle tonight when one of their leaders is the Starting Sub ;)

Re: Rd 2 Dogs v Crows @ Elizabeth Sat 2:30

Dogs looking solid. The midfield additions of Barry and Dittmar add class and grunt . Gaspar adds class upfront.

Pudney had a good debut, Presbury to half back is working well.

Pearce kicked 5, that cost me a round.

When is the last time dogs started the season 2-0.

Bit like his old man, who played a handful of league games for Port in the early 90s.

Harder to watch, that's for sure. The game has been tinkered too much, often as a knee-jerk reaction to a small sample of incidents.

Re: AFL Round 8

So what are the power supporters thoughts on rozee? Everyone knew he wasn't going to last if he played. Don't blame the medical team. I remember they cleared Holmes in a gf and the coach overruled it and reid got cleared too and longmire played him and he was ****** by half time. End of the day, the coach makes the call. We all knew he was ****** if he played so why did Ken let him play?

Ken Just admitted he got it wrong, it was his decision alone. Owned it

Worst 10 year 1 club coach ever , how he keeps getting a contract is mystifying

We'll get on a streak again next year just before contract time, smart man Ken

Re: What Are You Listening To Now?

Pearl Jam’s latest album, Dark Matter is really, really good (Got to Give my favourite song)
IMO their best since releasing Vitalogy in 1994.

Had a brief listen and liked a couple of songs instantly. I've listened to it a couple of times now and don't mind it, I like the title track Dark Matter.

I can't agree with you there Spargo, I absolutely love Yield and to a lesser extent No Code, I like Backspacer and really love some songs off Binaural, Riot Act and Pearl Jam but not the whole albums respectively. Lightning Bolt has some memorable songs too like Future Days. I probably haven't listened to Gigatron enough to make a comparison to Dark Matter.

What are these albums you speak of, did someone say Ten and Vs ;)
