Re: Who's got a Solar Power System installed?

I got a quote last week for a solar power system, late last week.....I didn't get a chance to speak to the guy as I was at work (my wife was home when the guy came around).

As I didn't get a chance to speak to the bloke, I'm having some difficulty knowing whether the quote was reasonable or not.

All up, its about $7,000 out of pocket expense.

What are the main things I should be looking at on the quote to determine whether I'm getting a good deal?

System size is 5.4KW.

Feed in tariff and inverter. All the panels in that price range are made in China anyway, even Canadian Solar!

Jump on solarquotes.com.au awesome site for research, if you put your details in people will also bid for your job.

I used Adam Solar and was very happy, local company

Re: Who's got a Solar Power System installed?

Thanks for info, heater & Ash.

Ive looked at the quote, but cant find anything mentioning "Feed In Tariff" (is that known by any other name?)....Inverter listed in quote is "Fronius".

Im planning on contacting Adam Solar soon, to see whether they can offer a better quote.

Your feed in tariff is the amount you get paid per kWh for feeding into the grid.

Many, many moons ago my boss got 60c per kWh, but only on a 1kW system.

I think it's now about 16c ( or less ) per kWh.

Its determined by the electricity company you are with so shop around.

Fronius is Austrian which is good, I have SMA which is German, from memory I was steered that way as they had a better warranty but that may have changed

Naming the first 22 for Round 1 this weekend, got 47 kids who have been slogging it out in pre-season for 10 weeks, just natural some kids are going to be disappointed, our second team doesn't start for another week so they can't put any form on the board this week. I don't have any issues during the season as you can base selection on form, Round 1 is the hardest of the year IMO

I reckon there will be quite a few forfeits. Teams right on the cusp with numbers only have to lose 4-5 and its all over for that game at least
Absolutely, even some coaches would probably had penciled in a getaway.

Re: Things that give you the sh1ts

Kids football side.. they are allocated one night a week to train (Friday), haven't trained in over a month due to coach being sick, stuck at work, weather etc. etc... they don't learn anything, pre-game "warm up" consists of the kids just kicking one oversized ball a kid brings from home for goal.. but they have some talented kids and bigger kids so all is ok because the big kids dominate

I'm fed up with it, why invest time and money for kids to play sport and they're hardly getting anything out of it!?**

*Note* - I'm glad mid-year when I got sick of the lack of training I got the kids training with one of the other jnr sides during the week as well. but still i'm cranky

Our junior teams are each allocated 4 x senior players to help out with training during the year.
While I was taking the 15xU6s through drills on Thursday night one of the A graders had pulled a kid aside to fix his kicking action.
That sort of help is invaluable at this age group and ties the Seniors and Juniors together.
4 of our junior sides are coached by current senior players which is great

Re: Netflix

Also, I watched the first episode of Good Girls on Netflix.

I enjoyed it. It's a lot funnier than I thought it'd be.

Mrs HH3 put on Hannah Gadsbys special after seeing a lot a glowing reviews. From what I could tell, she just tells you shes a lesbian over and over, and Mrs HH3 (who is a big LGBT-LMNOP supporter) ended up turning it off. I could tell she really wanted to like it, but she visibly cringed a few times.

It's more of a speech than a stand up routine.

Finished Good Girls yesterday while I was supposed to be doing budget forecasts.

Some funny parts and easy to watch

Re: I need to know....

Work now use TNT, slightly better than WINC (formerly Staples), who were just useless. Staples delivered everything promptly.

Dont get me started on Winc.

Came in, gave me a big spiel about being the cheapest in stationary, yadda yadda. I spend my precious time organising a product list of what we buy.

They come back with a quote with every single item a fair bit more expensive than what we pay.

Our next meeting got rescheduled to a "phone meeting" where we said our final goodbyes. Winc, arrived at one of our sites. They had gone to the Client entrance. Security directed them around to the Security office through the main building entrance. They simply ignored it, went back to van and gone....
All caught on CCTV.
I complained, every order was wrong. At one stage I thought it was just us, until my manager at time said it was happening all over Australia.
NFI why we put up with them for so long.

Mrs had issues with a courier mob, startrak I think.
They left a note on the computer tracking system saying noone was home.....when at the time my Mrs was on the phone to the Melb depot where its its there HQ...and I was watching tv in the lounge and noone came!!! She went nuts!!![emoji16]

Happy Friday.

I can cheer you up. I rolled in late after lawn bowls last night, boss had a bacon and egg sandwich on my desk and tells me he's going around 10:30 and won't be back.

I can also cheer you up. I just got up after a fair few froffs last night. Heading into town for “brunch” and then going to wander down to Adelaide Oval and watch some cricket with some beers.

Ambo car comes up quickly behind me with lights flashing, stops behind me and promptly turns the siren on. For those into bizzaro documentaries, check out "Tiger Kings". A look at the weird world of Americans who keep lions/tigers etc in private zoos and sanctuaries, and the rivalries that emerge. We're a couple of eps in so far, and the people in it are totally off the wall.

For example, there's a guy called 'Joe Exotic'—a gay (has two husbands), mullet-sporting, gun-toting “cowboy,” who also makes his own country music videos.

https://thenypost.files.wordpress.com/2020/03/200317-joe-exoctic1.jpg?quality=80&strip=all&w=978&h=652

Where do we get on?

Heccies have named 37 and Houghton 20

Same game multi, Q does all of those before Junior Boon does. Gamble responsibly :D Hectorville go from forfeiting last week to naming 37 this week.
