Re: Adelaide Crows Reserves 2014

Why do so many posters on here have a go at the crows for having a reserves side in the SANFL when the AFL club they support (some very passionately) do the exact same thing with the VFL. Are they on the VFL forum saying that Hawthorn, Essendon, Collingwood etc should not be in the VFL & its an absolute disgrace that they are. Hypocrisy is the word that comes to mind.

In a high scoring week of SuperCoach not too many in this league went along for the ride with only the Topes racking up a big one with a Divvy VI record of 2513. The Evil penguins were the unlucky team to cop the massive percentage hit. Other sides have bigger immediate problems with Brendamage and Failed Creation falling out of the top eight after they both copped defeats on the weekend.

Failed Creation in particular can feel hard done by as 2198 would normally be enough to get you the win in this division but they were no match for the Raging Hooligans who are going from strength to strength at the moment. Brendmage also scored a reasonable score for this league but not enough to trouble another top four side in Loose Husseys who did the business.

The top four sides in this league appear to be locks to go up to Division V next season as teams such as PowerFailure and Failed Creation have gone off the boil a bit. Sturt B and iSwiTch appear to lack the conistency so perhaps the main threat could be thekickingkangaroo who has hopped into the top eight this week. They have a pretty good side in place and could do some damage if one or two tweaks are made to the roo's outfit.

This league is probably a twelve horse race at the moment although Leisas Lovelies are starting to struggle after copping an upset loss at the hands of Play4RedTins who got a good score for once. Once again, Strawb's Mustangs are holding up the rest and they look a good thing for the spoon with Thiele and Eags close challengers for the honour.

After last week's big scoring in SuperCoach land the injury to the little champ Gazza lowered the boom on many coaches. It didn't seem to affect the big four who all managed to win again to increase the gap to a massive 12 points between fourth and fifth. Double chance settled. It will be very hard for any side outside of the big four to gain promotion into Division V you would think.

With Gazza out teams that did not have him in their lineup prospered such as Leisas Lovelies who got back on the winning list with a massive percentage booster over the Thiele Cows. Failed Creation overturned some indifferent recent form to defeat Sturt B team who looked a top four chance a couple of weeks over but that window of opportunity has now passed. Fellow mid-table challengers Brendamage and IswiTch suffered losses to top four opposition allowing the Lovelies to make some gains. The Lovelies are perhaps some chance of sneaking into the eight.

The big news in struggle street was Strawb's big victory in the annual grudge match against MightyEags but the Mustangs' 178 point victory wasn't enough to lift the stangs off the bottom of the ladder.

Three weeks to go till finals but promotion looks settled. Over to you, mid table teams.

Re: 20-1 REBs worst AFL Guernseys

5. The Powermint

Getting down to the business end of the countdown now and I'm amazed that some one rates some of these jumpers, the Jaffa in particular. This particular entry was suggested by a Port fan so clearly this is the red headed step kid that even Mum doesn't love. Resembling a wrapper for some kind of Mint this jumper is so bad that the Fireman can barely contain his mirth.

Released after the 119 debacle, this jumper is so bad that it successfully made Port fans forget about the game. Only Cats and Crows fans still talk about that one. The Power were once again struck by lightning and the result was shocking. Truly appalling.

Re: CH9AFL Division 1 2016

is this due to the incident earlier this year?
I'd dare say so, that's crap.
If true, i do agree with you. The club did the right thing and took care of the issue itself and from what i understand advised the league along the way. Although, as devils advocate. The probation was set and the conditions on this occasion were not met. Hence probably the deduction. Not good for the club two years in a row. Hopefully they can finish off stronger than they did last year after losing points. Div 1 is certainly stronger when Salisbury North are there and up and about.

Re: CH9AFL Division 1 2016

I've been informed it was just swearing on the last occasion.

On the previous occasion I know for a fact the umpire was called an f..ing cheat by a 5 foot 60kg uni student who can't even grow a beard.

I agree it isn't appropriate but no other club has been punished like that. I think prejudices are shining through at HQ.

Re: CH9AFL Division 1 2016

Questionable decision at the end of Goodie Saints v SNFC game to gift Goodies the game.

I wonder why there have been some language towards an umpire reports coming out of SNFC games. If you're not doing anything on the weekends, come watch the umpiring display during SNFC games.

User off.

I can tell you now, I was at the game and watched the whole A grade and SN were a far better side all day. The umpire in the hat was very good, paid the blatant ones (apparently his first div1 game) the other young lad I swear is a Goodwood member he was nothing short of a disgrace. Watchs far to much TV and thought the game was about him.

If he was a club umpire blokes would be on here going off about him and calling him a you know what. The other word that starts with 'C' and ends in 'T'

Re: Ch9AFL Division 1 - 2017

Just something I heard yesterday at work but I'm hearing Salisbury nth are in a bit of trouble. Apparently couple of there recruits have left already as not happy with numbers on the track. More than likely just gossip but the source that told me his wife was the recently appointed head trainer there and she has already left As her son was one of the new recruits and his gone back to Kilburn. For the hawks sake hope it all works out..
Heard the same early last week so it must be gaining some traction. Like you mate i hope its not the case. Div 1 is much stronger with SN in it. The same with any grade. If as a club you have committed to filling a side/s and to have the types of numbers i'm hearing, its pretty disappointing for SN coaches and committee. Hopefully they can regroup ad do it quickly. Not much time left. I know the usual rumor and innuendo will come out as to why but there's a lot of good people out there and a friend is out there so i hope they can get it all sorted. And that's IF it is 100% true. Haven't spoken to him yet.
I heard they had 9 players at training last Tuesday night, which includes the lad who has pulled the pin and going back to Kilburn.
Wasn't the only one. Howden back to North Haven as well I'm hearing.
Yes to my surprise Jack trained with us on Thursday. I was talking to him about this, he said they have barely anyone on the track as blokes have either left or are not interested in playing. From the outside and not knowing much about SN it seems a bit bizarre that this can just happen all of a sudden as I've always considered them to be a strong, healthy club.

Re: Adelaide Footy League Division 1 - 2017

Good too see the league giving SN are good start to the year. What s joke. How can they fixture 1 side to have 7 away games and 2 home games in the first 9 games. They finish with three games at home in a row.
But we all know how hard it is too win away games and once you start getting behind the 8 ball as in wins and losses. It's hard to come back. You would never see them fixturing the college sides like this.

God work SAAFL

Has happened to us for the last 10 odd years

I must say that I'm looking forward to the Blueprint being applied yet again this Friday night gentlemen. I also can't thank you blokes enough for moving to a ground that has similar dimensions to Cat Park (never mind the data bollocks it's long and skinny close enough) and moving away from the Cat Graveyard Football Park. Next time I'm in town I might head out to West Lakes just to dance on its grave with devilish glee!

Re: Adelaide Footy League Division 1 - 2017

Huh?

Your previous comment seemed to be having a go at the Tribunal for the 5 game suspension given to the Salisbury North player. If that's what you were implying, you were way off the mark, they got it spot on.

I'm confused... Drainer was the last red card SN had. I thought that got overturned as SN were appealing. My mistake.

Did not know they were appealing the Drainer decision, that will be interesting! Video was pretty damning what I saw, so don't fancy their chances.

Heard he had his suspension reduced tonight from 5 matches to 4? That was a waste of everyone's time tonight then. Under the Leagues rulings and guidelines with the actual report, he had to get 4 or 5 games, so appeals tribunal had only two options, keep at 5 games or reduce to 4, looks like they took the latter option.

Only because Enfield are entering an extra 2 day side, and can’t see the exec having them in the same grade.. was just speculation.

As it is, since i posted that, Para Vista have indicated they’re fielding one day sides only and there is still questions over Central United, so no doubt Pines would go up as well.

Brad Robertson back to Salisbury North.

Lol at Joe Hay in the Advertiser "We’re not a high-paying club so we don’t try and compete with clubs on the money front".
I hope he's comparing them to clubs in the Barossa etc and not to other ammo clubs. I understand they lose players to the big country money, but they are the Man City of ammo clubs (without the trophies to show for it). Lol. They pay more at Salisbury than Salisbury North

Well I'm getting paid -$350 for the season, so you guys must have some expensive subs. ;)

I'm sure our top guys may get equal to or more than your 18th-21st guys, but on the whole, I reckon you'd have us covered by a bit. No grudge, I'm jealous of the resources you have and wish we had them.

I agree that SN can get priced out when dealing with some close-in country clubs (everyone north of GJ Road is in that bracket), but they wouldn't get priced out when dealing with fellow ammo clubs.

Will be interesting to see all the in's and out's when the dust settles, I did hear rumours that Angle Vale were trying to drop down to Grade 2 as they had lost a heap, the Gardens' score indicates that this is possibly true.

I see Shaun Lay is trying is hand at Trinity, I heard Dom Costanzo went out to Dublin also, Woody back to the Units, Wilson back to Craigmore, Mark Gebauer from Craigmore to Smithfield and Willaston is still a composite Craigmore/Smithfield side with two more crossing over, nearly had Johnny Owen too I hear.

As it wasnt out in the public sphere I held back posting this earlier.

But this morning the president of the PDCA Andrew Quinlish (Quinny) passed away from a heart attack in his home.

Very sad news for his family especially his partner and kids and the large circle of mates he has.

My father in law passed suddenly in the same way and its a massive shock for the family to deal with as well as the sadness.
