Re: Things that you rate!

I rate South Adelaide for giving my daughter the following to take with her on a week long volunteer trip to remote Kintore (530kms West of Alice Springs). She's going with the red dust organisation that were shown on the Front Bar in May. They encourage Indigenous youth to learn more about health and make healthy lifestyle choices through the mentoring and influence of positive role models in sport, art, music and dance.

https://reddust.org.au/

I also rate my daughter for volunteering for such a great cause, should be an amazing experience for her too!

Edit: I contacted North Adelaide and they've done the same! :)

Picked up the gear this morning from North and was overwhelmed! They told me they couldn't provide much on short notice but still managed 6 full size footys, 5 pairs of shorts, 5 guernseys, 3 jackets, 17 singlets and 2 polos!
Footy clubs can be amazing places, really moved.

EFA ;)
Come on! You'd need a Project Manager, a Business Analyst, a Systems Analyst, a Programmer, Hardware Engineers, a Test Analyst, independent testers, an Automation Enginer and a host of support including 3 levels of help desks! Throw in HR support/management and you're looking at least 30 jobs.
Much more efficient than 2 kids on the counter. ;)

Re: Things that you rate!

The photos my daughter is sending me back from Kintore in the NT of her volunteering trip with red dust. The people and kids especially look so happy despite having so little. Very moving stuff, just wish my old man who was one of the stolen generation was still around to witness what she's doing, he would have burst with happiness and pride.

Of the gear she took the footys have gone down an absolute treat. They're over the moon to have real footys to kick around. So proud of my girl!

It's inspired me to look at making a visit to East Arnham/Boraloola to visit the area/people of my father's tribe and take his ashes there.

Going to the Gaslight on Saturday night to check out "Spoonfed", Grinspoon cover band.

Mate plays drums for Spoonfed. Great bloke. Used to go by the login tazz here.

Good Norwood lad ;)
Tazz is a great guy and a good drummer. Seen him inaction a few times. He also sought me out after the GF last year. Quality lad.

Re: 2019 Qualifying Final - Powerserves v Crowserves

This really is like a poor trial game between two teams that don't care.
Chalk and cheese compared to the Elim.
I almost feel sorry for the poor morons that are still there.

It's still disturbing that the Power Reserves wear the guernseys of the club they killed off. Completely disrespectful.

Re: 2019 2nd Semi Final - Glenelg v Powerserves

Would Glenelg be better off with a close loss with no injuries and a win next week so as to avoid another 13 days off?
Probably the age old question of minor premiers under the final 5 but the last time a minor premier won the 2nd semi and then the GF was 6 years ago!
Mind you those figures are a bit skewed because of 3 traditional Eagles chokes.

Re: Danny Frawley RIP

Something like this really does put things in perspective, even the rest of the footy finals seems irrelevent to me atm.

Can't possibly see how Bounce could ever happen again, Spud really was the cornerstone of the show. Even before we got Foxtel we used to make sure we were at the pub on a Sunday arvo and would get the pub to turn up the volume to one of our favourite shows of the week. Even people that didn't normally watch it would turn around and have a laugh mainly thanks to Spud.

Will be very sad over Spud's passing for quite a while.

Just waiting for a Wedgie doom & gloom forecast (before the first bounce) & the wifes super is on
Haven't had a chance to think about it as for the first time in years I worked Mon - Fri and had a 11 hour day today who was insane.
Just catching up on Facebook and Safooty and to be truthful I can't get into tonight's game, I'm still devestated about Danny Frawley passing, the footy seems irrelevant. :(

Thinking briefly about it I think the Cats will get up but does it really matter as it's most likely Richmond will kill whoever they play next week.

Re: Glenelg V Port Grand Final

Well, it seems the SANFL has over turned it's original decision and when it seemed the Port Adelaide Cheer Leaders wouldn't be allowed to perform they have been granted permission to perform on the day. Tradition is alive and well at Alberton.

Ill only accept its the Magpies playing if there is a Black and Gold coffin being transported around the stadium.

Or there's some d!ckhead with a mullet wearing a Trigger Tregenza t-shirt, that's two sizes too small....

Re: Glenelg V Port Grand Final

I know i jumped back on board the bays this year after taking a year or two of really caring about the bays. Poor club decision and my growing lack of interest in the sanfl were the reasons why. I ain’t pretending I am a die hard. But growing up going to see the bays play at footy park was a real treat. I knew all the players and Followed them religiously.
But I was four when we won our last flag. This is special cause of my Nanna. She wouldnt let us in her house if we didn’t follow the bays. She was one of those ladies at the bay oval who sat on the fence. She may struggle now to even grasp what is going on today, and today is special because of her.
That's the difference. I can't
imagine too many port supporters would be "devastated" by the loss.
They'd be about as devestated as the Eagles fans who's reserves lost today too
