Re: Hawthorn 2017

Great to have a win. Like the look of O'Brien and Hardwick. Keep em in for an extended run.

Most of all I loved the presser:

"There's no account by a bloke who should know better than to throw up bullshit about our players. Hold some of these people to account because the hysteria it creates is just absolute rubbish. Particularly Carey of all people. We've spoken about this before. He shouldn't make too many comments about other players because we could just go to town on him"

I love Clarko.

Re: Daily Golf - Where you are playing and how you go

Mattee G

You playing Thaxted on Sunday?

So our lads copped both barrels trying to get them off the course before Pennants. "Play the next 3 holes in 15 minutes or you are off the course"

No mention of it before they tee off? Or even some communication during the week stating there would need to be some urgency to get through the round quick as possible?

As it was all the lads were there at 8am, they could have been asked to get going straight away.

They did this to us about 8 years ago, booted us off after 9 'because pennants was on'. Finally given them another chance over the past 18 months and this happens.

Thaxted can go **** themselves. We will be cancelling our next booked round.

Re: Worst Movies

Despicable Me is one of my all-time favourite movies. DM2 nowhere near as good, but OK enough. DM3 though is just crap unfortunately (kids still enjoyed it enough thankfully, but it's a snoozefest for adults with very very few laughs).

Really? Actually was looking forward to seeing this one with the kidlets this week.

'I'll be back'!

Interested in your thoughts mate, maybe I was a little too tired/hungover, but I dont think that was the issue. They should never have gotten rid of Victor/Vector

After seeing it, I think it fits more in the MEH movies. Certainly not as good as 1/2 or Minions movie, but the kids were glued and I got a few chuckles out of it.

Re: Daily Golf - Where you are playing and how you go

Picked up the $45 for winning the C Grade at Flaggy.
2 times our group has played there has resulted in someone winning.
First time we had a 2nd placing.
Then on top of me winning we had one get the NTP om the 9th and another got the ntp approach on 16th.
Blackwood on Saturday. Haven't been up there for years so looking forward to it. My fading recollection is that its quite a nice track.

Played there in Feb and it was top notch. The recent wet may give it hell.

They were saying on Footy Classified last week that Riewoldt wanted to play on next year and he and his management were disappointed the club were still dicking him around whether to give him another contract, I guess they just gave him their decision.

Would have been so much easier when there was 16 (or 17!) teams way back.

Assuming DIv 2 would also play on Saturdays, how can you assume all those C grade teams this year would be able to fill a Div 2 'A' grade?

Re: Daily Golf - Where you are playing and how you go

Played Blackwood yesterday morning. Ripper nick.

First game since late August. 37 points, no Scrubs, 3 birdies. Good was good, but had a few stinkers- Even had a fanny on the 2nd. Won the cash hole ($40!) and another NTP.

May have another 3 month spell if my first ups go like that.

Course staff polite, let us know we had to be off by 1 due to a charity afternoon. Even came over to us with 1 hole to go to let us know not to rush as we were making good time. Had a fair gallery watching us on the temp 8th (our last hole). My 2 group members both hit absolute shockers, much to their mirth. I then knocked a wedge to about 3 foot to amend the laughs! And holed the putt. Was pumped!!

Picked up a Cobra King F7 Driver (stiff shaft*) from Golfbox for $248 . Ever so keen to give it a whack on a real course situation.

Being awarded the Spartans Players MVP award at our club presentations on Saturday night.

The award is voted on by all players, coaches and club officials.

It was a massive surprise. This is the most meaningful award I think I could ever win. Not only because it's voted on by my whole team, but because it's in memorial to a great guy who passed away in 2016.

Played a 3 ball Ambrose yesterday at Blackwood.

I (11) played with a 25 and a 30 handicapper, and we ended up with 5 under off the stick, including a team eagle!

I sprayed a few which didnt matter, but it was the best I've hit irons in a long time (2 NTPs). And the F7 Driver is starting to burn off the tee, put a drive to 50 m on the 9th (our last hole).

Course in great nick.
