Re: Gaelic Football in South Australia

Well done to Port as well on there first success in winning Div 2. It must have been Troy s game plan. :D

Alex*

Yea was a really tight contest. Port lead the whole game but Flinders came home with a lot of momentum. I thought they were going to steal it at one stage. Really quick game; moving from end to end with minimal errors (particularly for 5th v 6th).
Hopefully both teams are still competing next year.
Good day at St Marys - the Mens Final was a quality game, enjoyable to watch without having a connection to either team as it always is.

Nah smith would own him. Holm wouldn't know how to man up on him if SPOC had the ball.

I'd take him any day of the week over Holm.

Re: Rnd 1 - North v Adelaide Post Game

Not one post about the football itself just 3 pages of BS and pissing contests.

I was impressed by Norths ball movement and apart from some late soft goals Norf could have won by 12 goals. Andy Read on debut was excellent across half back getting 21 touches and blanketing his opponents and Amato looks like he is going to have a real break out year.

As for the Crows I assume they will improve as a unit but had a few lads who looked a fair way off it. Any news on Porps, I was right behind him when he got his hit and it was brutal. Was it a report. Looked pretty nasty.

I thought the crowd was pretty decent and a good atmosphere. There seemed like there were a good smattering of people mainly kids in Crows guernseys but the novelty may wear off real quick if they don't improve and the idiotic abuse they will cop being the away team every week.

Overall I thought it was a good day and North look like a top 3 team to me.

Re: Northern Areas gossip

Had the pleasure of watching Orroroo host BMW on Saturday and was pleasantly surprised by the standard of footy on show on what might be the biggest ground I've ever seen. That oval is massive.

BMW too strong in the midfield and as the game opened up they ran harder and used the ball better than Orroroo.

Re: Round 9 Yak

I need 71 from Jimmy Webster to get a W over Scos swimmers in divvy 4. Cant see it happening.
Ablett has had a 60 odd and a 90 odd v St Kilda recently, We both have Ablett as C and Beams as VC. I am thinking of taking Beams 104 as VC and hope Ablett goes under this. If Ablett gets a 90 will only need a 57 from Webster which is more achievable.
Big risk but one i may have to take,
Thoughts??

I wouldn't. St Kilda are rubbish and I reckon the odds are more in favour of Webster jagging a good score than Ablett going under a hundred three times against any opponent. Looking like an L either way but you could damage your percentage if you make the move and Ablett guns it.

Re: Hogg Division I 2015

Happy to be skipper
Good man macca... I would of done this to help REB out if no one else could. Happy to supply the league points and rankings just don't have the time to do the write ups.

Looks like a tough league again, at least I will be in Australia for all of this season so hopefully be a little more competitive..

Re: Ch9 AFL Division 2 - 2015

Wouldn't worry about Gepps too much. They've got some good young kids coming through. In speaking to a few out there (those that know what's going on) they've lost players who weren't worth the money they were getting anyway. Will probably play above the level of where their list is at on paper I would think.
And yes, 15 is definitely a slight exaggeration.
Thurgood and Stengle (div 1 medal winner)not worth the money?????? , can not see any replacements on the clearance link except for two juniors. if I was a member, i would be asking questions. a lot of good people at Gepps, they deserve better.

They were 7th and 8th in the club b & f. One could be right in saying they were not worth big money if that's all they could do last year. Gepps probably did the right thing and stood firm if you ask me.
