Re: ASCA 2013/14.

This weekend is the David Lee Memorial game between Morphy Parks and WYC - anyone who knew David (General or Sleazy as he was also known) is welcome back at Morphy's on Sat night - BBQ dinner available, DJ and some raffles to try to raise some money for beyond blue. The first two have been great nights and from the sounds of things this one will be no different.

Re: ASCA 2013/14.

Sunday: Very long day.
Head sore, guts not good & shoulder aching.
Lifting about 38 stubbies & 17 rum and cola cans, plus 7 balls of express pace bowled at Scotty Luders for charity. One has only just landed from memory.
Great day & night though, once again, from memory, which fades from about 9.30ish.
Well done WYC and hope skinny enjoyed his 60th!!!!

Re: ASCA 2013/14.

Well done to Morphy's for another well hosted event for the Dave Lee Memorial Shield game.

Glad we were able to win it but even happier that we were able to raise a few dollars for beyond blue which will hopefully help someone out in their time of need and ensure we don't lose another mate to depression.

The temperatures certainly impacted the turnout but it didn't affect spirit of those there and again a good time was had by everyone there.

It is great to also see the Lee family support the game as much as they do. Something we hope continues for as long as possible.

We look forward to hosting the game next year.
Well said bloods - it was another good day, and the fundraising was excellent - congrats to those involved.

The Lee's were tickled pink that David is remembered in such a way, but equally impressed by both clubs desire to support this incredibly important charity - they need funding to ensure they continue to help those in need, and sadly, there is no shortage of people suffering.

I again would like to thank the players who put the temperature to one side to ensure the day went ahead, but equally importantly and as I said to all of those playing - there is no shame in feeling down - just know that you can talk to family and friends about it.

Re: Para Districts Cricketer gets 5 year ban

Cool story Froffies, don't let some facts get in the way of it.

The said person wrote "The PDCA Executive is run by a bunch of kiddy fiddlers". A couple of executive members took offence and called for a meeting.

Pleading that he was hacked would not of worked as it still hasn't been removed and he has stated that he wrote it.

A brawl took place on the field, no one from the suspended players club gave any evidence to defend themselves nor did anyone reply to a please explain or attend a tribunal, the club accepted the mandatory two match early plea sentence to which the said player went on a rampage on the PDCA facebook page and then pleaded ignorance to not knowing of such a social media policy which is on the PDCA home page and distributed to all clubs at the pre-season meeting.

Some people should just grow up and learn what is socially acceptable behaviour.

Re: ASCA 2013/14.

great effort by morphies park a grade today posting 4/298 batting out their 75 overs.

kev brokensha 90 not out

woodward 73

nurney 51 not out

solid start set up the innings and allowed for the runs to flow at the end scoring at 10 runs an over from the 60 over mark.

And thenbacked it up with there first ever T20 win on Sunday :D

Re: ASCA

Sad day for WYCCC last week with Dave Thulborn, 4 time premiership player at the club passing away after a short illness.

Was an excellent captain, ripping fellow and a class batsman, even with no gloves or thigh pad. Tough as nails too. Played a major role in shaping a generation of the club that saw several players from under him captain teams and captain premierships. Many of these players then had an impact on the next generation of the club.

R.I.P Dave.

Re: ASCA

Good to see the WYC Rangers B Grade take out the Div 4 flag. Couple of good lads in that side who have been stalwarts of the club on field and one has worked tirelessly off the field for many years.

Congratulations @wycbloods.

Re: Hogg Grand Final Thread 2020

Hogg Division V

harryshawks vs. Giants Legends

Wycbloods' daughter Emma is keeping that premiership feeling in the family as she aims to complete the perfect season in Hogg Division V. Either the youngster is a precocious SuperCoach talent or Dad has been the guiding hand the end result is the same 15-0 and aiming for a clean sweep. Standing in their way is another female coach in Giants Legends in this all ladies' Grand Final. Giants Legends are a rookie team so it a Grand Final in their first year is an outstanding performance and naturally both have been rewarded with promotion.

Apart from having the wrong Lyons in the side harryshawks is a beautiful side that would not look out of place in a higher league. Giants Legends are, well, Giants Legends. The Legends have no less than eight Giants in their team (hmm...I wonder who Kerryn barracks for LOL) and generally this is not an advisable strategy in SuperCoach. If the Giants don't do that well then the Giants Legends might follow suit. Against your average Division V side that isn't a problem but harryshawks are not an average Divvy V side. This looks like the most one-sided match up of the round and harryshawks should go on to record a well deserved premiership. My tip - harryshawks by 129 points .

regards,

REB
