Re: Things that you rate!

A good mate passed away several years ago, his wife, considerably younger than him was left single with 3 adolescent kids, it's not unreasonable to say she was sad, very sad, understandably, for many years.

I see on the weekend she was camping with a fella, since then I've spoken to her and found she's been with a bloke for a couple of months and her kids are just as happy as she is. Given my comment in the "sad" thread about Mum yesterday it's a nice little pick me up, couldn't be happier to see her happy, she sure as hell deserves it and I know my mate wanted nothing more than for her to be happy and loved.

Good shit.

Re: 2021 Trade rumours and discussion

Do you think the best of Finlayson would get a gig before Marshall?

I may be on my own here but I think Finlayson has a bit to offer if it all clicks for him.

Not that stats are everything but purely based on stats his 2019 & 2021 output statistically was better than Marshalls

https://www.footywire.com/afl/footy/pc-greater-western-sydney-giants--jeremy-finlayson

Career averages :

Finlayson 196cm 93kg
Disposals 11.9
Marks 3.8 ( 0.7 contested )
Goals 1.4
Tackles 1.6
I50 2.0
Tackles I50 0.5
Hitouts 1.2
Disp Eff 72%

Marshall 198cm 87kg
Disposals 9.4
Marks 3.5 ( 0.8 contested )
Goals 1.1
Tackles 2.0
I50 1.9
Tackles I50 1.0
Hitouts 0.2
Disp Eff 66%

Pretty much a much of a muchness, certainly plays more as a ruckman with the bigger rig.

Re: 2021 Trade rumours and discussion

If the Crows don't make this Dawson deal stick, or somehow wangle a deal to get Horne they are officially a joke!
If Dawson played his best footy to date away from family then how good could he be when he's settled in his hometown?

Or he gets comfortable and plays just average footy for a big wage.

Looking forward to seeing this all play out.

That isn't going to happen. There is no way North give him up.

Re: 2021 Trade rumours and discussion

They didn't do a very good job if that's what they tried to do.

One of the most uneventful trade periods in a long time, wonder why so little movement?

You can't tell me there's 18 clubs happy with their list exactly as it is. Combination of things IMO.
Many don’t think this draft bats too deeply and clubs not really keen to get amongst the draft. Also not a real lot of quality FA’s and the players under contract will cost far too much

The draft might be a ripper, but we don't know because Vic kids have played around 8 games in 2 years.

Re: 2021 Trade rumours and discussion

Yep, 16 to 12 for Port is a little win, Ladhams for 31 is a little win for Sydney and the circuit breaker is Ladhams doesn't take is $400k from his last year to make it all happen.

I reckon it's about right.

At the moment Port Adelaide have 16, 63, 73, 74, 92, so making that 12,31,63,73,74,92 looks better.

Mine are 11 & almost 9 both going on 18 but we make sure we still do these things regularly.

I need a weekend to get over the weekend! Man they sap the energy. Great fun but just relentless.

The little bloke loves me (I'm pretty fond of him if I'm honest) and as most 4 year old's do he has zero understanding of what personal space is. Been a long time since I've had to talk to someone while taking a shit. Hopefully it's a long time before I do it again!

Re: Coronavirus (Covid19)

My wife's Uncle passed away suddenly on the weekend, shattering that his son and daughter are in Vic/NSW respectively and won't be allowed back to comfort their Mum or attend the funeral..

Check on that, compassionate grounds include attending a funeral.

Mum's friend that passed away two weeks ago, her daughter in Coffs applied to come back, was given a pass to enter ( 14 quarantine must be done ) to attend her Mum's funeral. However her Mum didn't want a funeral so they're respecting her wishes and not having one, as such she can't come in.

Doesn't surprise me the slightest.
The state cricketers have had a reputation for 10 years now as being the biggest 'knob head' sportsmen on the city nightclub/pub scene.

Cricketers full stop. There's no doubt the Sandpaper scandal stemmed from these entitled pricks thinking they are untouchable, better than everyone else. Spend a few minutes around almost anyone who has a baggy green and you soon work out they aren't as happy to be around you as you are them. Massive flogs most of them.

Another school mate gone too soon. Heart attack at 40. Admittedly didn't live the healthies of lives but hardly someone you would consider 'at risk.

Getting old and losing mates sucks, this didn't really happen between the ages of 20-30, obviously its only going to get worse as well.

United Districts, Woodville Districts, Norwood ANA
Where were these clubs based just out of interest?

United Districts near the Woodville Hockey Club, Woodville North, Woodville Districts around the corner at Pennington Primary ( made my 1st hundred there ) and Norwood ANA played on the old oval that is now Ikea / Bunnings on the airport, Sire Donald Bradman Drive.

Ok, I’ll admit I was very pessimistic about the Chicken Chef chips despite the hype & publicity over the last 24 hours not to mention the high recommendations from LM, Days & Pag on here.
I couldn’t get near the joint, had to park out the front of Vili’s. I Enter the shop & there are 18 people eating/waiting for their order. In the 8 mins I waited another 23 people came in and ordered. The place was heaving.
Grab my order & almost break into a run back to the van in anticipation. I am not let down. These are THE BEST CHIPS I have ever had - period. Crunchy on the outside, fluffy in the middle - cooked to perfection. The hot dog I had was spot on too. Got halfway through the chips & felt full, finished them anyway. My mouth loves me, my guts hates me. Food coma ominous. Worth it.

Adelaide United’s Josh Cavallo has publicly come out as gay, becoming the first male professional Australian footballer to do so during their playing days.

The 21-year-old young Socceroo made the announcement on Wednesday, declaring he was “proud to publicly announce I am gay” in an emotional statement on Twitter.
