Re: Things that you rate!

Fired the smoker up last week to get a feel for how much charcoal I needed to get to what temperature and for how long. Think I'm ready to give some cooking a crack so I put some wings in a marinate last night, they're soaking that up in the fridge, they'll be in the smoker by noon on Saturday with a view to making a pig of myself around 5 o'clock.

Gender reveals. What the **** is going on with these? Apparently I've got one to attend in the coming days, I'm going to carve this shit show up.

So, you know what gender they're going to identify with then they grow up then? Might be pissed at the pink balloon when you show the video at "its" 21st.

(To the Mum) You weren't there when they did the ultra sound?

You know, when it drops out you'll be able to tell then if you wanted to surprise everyone?

My brother strolling into town, using up about 250gb of data in 3 days (i have a 300gb limit) and then pissing off to NSW, leaving moi with no wifi until next Tuesday. :?

No, i"m not paying extra to have unlimited, when for the best part I'd never usually even use half of that amount.

Is his car still at yours?

Nah, he drove it to Merimbula to help out a mate after the fires.

Thats a serious porn addiction

The only thing I hear coming from his room is shooting as opposed to moaning, so I think it's X-Box

Re: Things that make you sad.

Overnight our dog Poppy, one of our two beautiful Australian Shepherds, passed away suddenly. She was 13 and a half, and dog with a real character and personality.

She had experienced some mobility issues with her hind legs in the last couple of months, and it was particularly bad last night, but there were no signs of anything more serious health-wise. I woke up during the early hours of this morning and went to check on her, only to find her downstairs, lying on her side, and 'sleeping' with her eyes open. I'm not sure how she died, but I presume her failing back legs may have had something to do with it. I only hope that it was sudden, and that she didn't suffer. I guess it was her time.

Sometimes I'd I wonder how I would deal with an inevitable day like today, and I must say I'm a lot worst than I thought I'd be, constantly fighting back tears which seem to come in waves after periods where I think I'm OK. I think it'll take a while for my wife and I to adjust.

Poppy had a great life, and was a wonderful companion. Rest in peace, my little furry, fluffy friend.

So sorry to hear mate.

We lost a beagle to a heart murmur, we were unaware she had any issues until we saw her "frozen" on the back lawn one day. The vet said we may have missed these episodes whilst we were at work or just inside and didn't see them. Despite going onto medication she succumbed to it, we were there at the time which wasn't something I want to experience again.

RIP Poppy.

Re: Things that you rate!

Wings - Absolutely perfect, fell off the bone.

Chook - Needed 40 minutes in the oven at 200° to finish off, was juicy as can be, rub was awesome, peppery goodness.

Ribs - Not quite fall off the bone, probably needed another hour to be perfect.

Loved doing it, can't wait to do a proper 6-8 hour cook with some ribs or brisket on board.

Fuel was heat beads with apple woods chunks for the first 90 minutes, just heat beads for the last 2 hours. Total cook time was 3.5 hours at 225°F.

Re: Bands coming to Adelaide

Music legends and controversial Hottest 100 toppers The Offspring have today announced a 2020 headline Australian tour, marking their first time here since 2018’s Good Things festival.

But they won’t be coming here alone. The tour will be joined by Canadian rockers Sum 41, meaning it’s going to be one head-banging bout of 90’s nostalgia to remember.

The tour will be taking place in April. Kicking off at Perth’s HBF Stadium, the two gargantuan acts will then take on Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney before wrapping things up in Brisbane.

Tuesday, 21st April
Entertainment Centre Theatre, Adelaide

9ers lost -game total 51 points - Draw/loss - Scored in 2nd half - Chiefs 31 points.

I couldn't care less about other people on the road anymore, go past, slip in the lane, whatever, no point getting upset or angry as you never know when you're going to encounter some iced up crack head and end up with a wheel brace in your drivers window. Life's too short to worry about a car length or two.

Re: Port Adelaide 2020

Did you go to Ports AGM Boon?

Havent seen heard any media regarding it?

No mate, didn't go, was busy sweeping water out of my shed / rumpus room. :( I am catching up with someone who did go on the weekend. Initial reports said it wasn't overly informative, Hinkley spoke earlier than usual as his wife had a birthday dinner so he took off, Thomas didn't speak. Vanstone stood down from the board, not too many board members were present.

Yes, oddly quiet, I would have thought Rucci would have liked to spread the bad news around if there was any to report, perhaps keeping it for this weekends paper?

Bit shabby around the edges this morning, but the icy cold beers, sensational course and the golfing talent I got to witness on display yesterday were all worth it.

Straya!

An Australian couple quarantined on a cruise ship due to the deadly coronavirus kept the party flowing by getting a drone to deliver wine straight to their cabin.

Jan and Dave Binskin, from Queensland, have chronicled their journey of boredom and booze while stranded on the Diamond Princess ship off the coast of Tokyo for the past week.

Fair enough too Mr.Boon, favourite parts of my day there are when I sit in the pub I get a seat that faces out over the ocean and just watch the waves roll in and getting up before the family and reading a book facing out over the ocean. Weather would've been magic.

Blew it guts out all day Saturday, if not for one John Platten and his mates venturing out in the boat ( mad bastards ) I wouldn't have got a feed of crabs!

Re: AFLW - Womens AFL

The AFL made a $48.5m profit last year, down $2m on the year before due to investment in AFLW. Next year the investment in womens football across the country will go from $16.5m to $22.5m.

In the last 12 months females playing or participating in Australian Rules Football has increased by 11% to 600,000.

You should all put your knickers back on and get comfortable, womens footy is here to stay.

THE AFL Grand Final will remain in a day timeslot this season.

The decision to commit to a day game was reached by the AFL commission during its first meeting of the year in Melbourne today.

The 2020 Grand Final – to be played Saturday, September 26 - will likely start at 2.30pm AEST, which has been the case in recent years.
