Re: Chuck Sacked

Agree changing the coach isnt enough, clean up the boardroom and get the chequebook out, need to go and get 3-4 decent players from other states.
Think I heard 6 or 7 of the Vics side in the Shield final are not from Victoria, time for us to follow suit. If the players coming up through the grades aren't up to it then we need to look elsewhere

I know the current Vic skipper is from Tassie ;)
Absolutely, I think luring KP to play would be #1 on our list.

Re: Ch9 AFL Division 4 - 2015

Probs here a couple of pages back.

I'll have a crack

1 Kenilworth
2 North Haven
3 Hope Valley
4 Kilburn
5 Pooraka

6 Westminster
7 Eastern Park
8 Glenunga
9 Salisbury
10 Hectorville

Kenilworth will be hard to beat this year. a lot of in and a new coach. If they can use their big ground to their advantage they will run teams off their feet.
Top 5 are very strong teams this year, with Westminster being a big danger throughout the year.

Eastern Park will struggle this year, depth and fitness is a big concern there i would say

Why do people always fall in the trap of the results in trial games they mean very little as side's always have players out or try players in new positions etc dont be foolish and naive!

By what I have been told the kooks were missing some players due to cricket finals...

Re: World Cup 2015

Chasing 298 from 43 overs against Steyn & Morkel is an amazing feat IMO, South Africa batted too slow initially, they won the toss and elected to bat so they can't complain too much about the D/L, they were just lucky that they got to go out there for that 5 extra overs.
The New Zealand chase was exceptional, I thought the 298 was a fair adjustment and was going to be a tough ask chasing 7 an over for 43 overs, they've earnt their right to play inn the final, good luck to them.

Re: Things that give you the sh1ts

The fact that every time I ask for 10 cocktail franks at the service deli, they give me 9 or 11. Without fail they do this. I have never once been given 10 after asking for 10. Today they gave me 14, which wasn't so bad - it's the bloody odd numbers that annoy me. I have two kids. I don't want to have to cut a f***ing cocktail frank in half so they can have the same amount. How hard is it to count to ten?

Re: I need to know....

More likely that "black box" was originally used in the systems engineering context - ie the interface is designed so that the inputs and outputs are known but the plane (or anyone else) does not require actual knowledge of the inner workings.

Another fun fact - it was actually invented in Australia, by David Warren at DSTO (DSTO ftw)

Re: Gold Coast theme parks

it you are trying to make a choice between dreamworld/white water world and movie world/sea world/wet n wild i would go dreamworld etc.

having said that, i think movie world might be the best partk overall.
Well I took my 12 year old daughter and 9 year old son, our package only included Wet "n" Wild, Seaworld and Movieworld, I think Dreamworld would be more attractive to the post teen generation.
We found Movieworld the best one out of the 3, but my kids would rather "do" than "watch" so walking around looking at fish and stuff wasn't that appealing to them. Each to their own.
Movieworld was unpredictable, you'd be walking through the streets and then Catwoman would break out into a fight scene against the Cops, it was very interactive.
Mmmm Catwoman.

Re: Ch9 AFL Division 6 - 2015

Do people think a 9 team division makes it easier or harder for sides to qualify for finals?

I realise one less side is one less position to finish above, but it's also 2x less games that might be possible victories (or losses).

Even if Brahma Lodge go 0-3 Saturday are they really in danger of missing the 5? Mawson Lakes, Ingle Farm, Central United all look like bottom 3 sides, and with Fitzroy & West Croydon playing each other this week, they'll only be 1x win back from one of those sides and 2x wins from the rest of the pack with a softer draw coming up in the following weeks.

Easier, only have to finish in the top 55% of your group not the top 50%.

Although it's not crisis time at the Lodge I'm sure they would've sub-conciously lightly penciled in round 1's home game against Ingle Farm as a likely win. It would raise some alarm bells as to where they are on the pecking order as it will come down to who beats each other from the middle group of teams.

Re: Bali Nine - is the death penalty justice?

So they did the wrong thing. Big deal. They are not murderers or pedaphiles.
They have tried to right their wrong, grow from it and use art as their healing. They deserve forgiveness.
The Bali government and the people who pull the trigger today are the criminals. So barbaric and horrific
It is, it's also enough of a deterrent to avoid the risk.
Obviously not much of a deterrent if they are still having to execute people.
It's enough for me to not traffic drugs in or out of there.

While I'm at it, the Greek on Halifax does an amazing banquet, we quite regularly go out for dinner through work and this place reigns supreme out of any of where we have been.
I wasn't sure on what to expect as besides the odd yiros I wasn't too sure on Greek cuisine, I left there totally in awe though.
Everything about the place was brilliant, great wine and beer selection, great service and the food, starting from the entree's was to die for.

Well worth the $55 per head asking price, I left there full and satisfied and the range of beers kept all of us happy.

Hi All, last night I received a phone call from the committee advising me that I am no longer the coach of Brahma Lodge Football Club. Right now I'm quite angry over this and not willing to comment further. I wish all the players the best for the remainder of the season, as I feel that they are the losers out of this, and good luck to the rest of the teams in Div 6. Thanks

Re: Restaurant & Pub Reviews

The House of the Red Dragon at Smithfield has always reigned supreme for my Chinese fix.

I tend to go twice a month and usually buy enough for the 3 of us to have a couple of days worth of meals.
The kids love their massive spring rolls that are $3.50 each and full of meat and veg in some awesome pastry and then one loves the honey chicken while the other is pretty keen on the sweet and sour pork so they are usually a given, well priced and decent servings.
Their Special Fried Rice is a meal on it's own with huge pieces of various meats through it and well priced so an Extra Large serving is always on our list.
I tend to sway between the Garlic King Prawns or Satay Steak (Their Sizzling Steak is also amazing).
All up, feeding the 3 of us a couple of times for generally under $70 rates highly with me, especially when we eat so much that we don't even feel like dessert. I've never left there disappointed.
9.5/10 for quality and price.
