Re: Good Movies

I saw 1917 on Friday night with mates and overall I really enjoyed it. I can't remember loving the start of a film more than I did watching the start of 1917 with the soldiers in the trenches, the way it was shot was just so immersive and gave you no time to look away or zone out of what was happening on screen. The second half of the film is a bit messy but as whole it is a great film mainly because of the way it's shot. It really gives you a sense of how horrible trench warfare was.

Seen this last Sunday. Agree the start is brilliant.
It makes you wonder why this type of filmography hasn't been done before.

Re: Interest Rates/Aust economy discussion

Down again.
0.5%

Morrison/Frydenberg will have to throw another stimulus package out in the very near future. With the bushfires and coronavirus impacting upon the market, the lack of consumer confidence and it's clear the RBA has no confidence in the government to turn things around we're heading into dangerous territory. Expect to get yourself a new TV in the next 6 months, or, you might get that Keginator you've been wanting. [emoji38]

So made the call yesterday, im playing cricket and not attending the wedding.

Feel very comfortable with the decision.

Thanks for everyones point of views.

As long as it sits well with you, that's all that counts.

Yeah my Saturday cricket is so important to me and my mental health and well being. Especially as i get older and cant really play rugby anymore.

It's only an amateur sport but i **** i love it. Now the pressures on.....better make some runs, a sccchweepppes classic catch and maybe a wicket or 5[emoji3]

Re: Daily Golf - Where you are playing and how you go

Monthly Medal off the Blacks.

Mother Nature had a dodgy curry, bloody windy AF out there this morning.

1st got away with a bogey 6.
First time we managed to get a earlyish 1st tee slot, so take that and move on.
2nd....the gust is heading to the dam on the left. Play hybrid off the tee....hit a tree on the right....it bounced back to end of the path[emoji23][emoji23][emoji23] anyway we recover for another bogey 5.
3rd - poor tee shot, recovery was sublime....par.
4th.....oh dear...i pulled the drive a tad and breeze then blew it towards trees and range on the right....walked out with a 7..[emoji849]
From there the game really picked up.
6 pars and 8 bogeys....but did give myself some good opportunities, but just let down with the putter....

So we ended up with 84 off stick...best round for a while.....dont wanna peak to early in the quest for Seniors tour...[emoji16]

How do you cook your pork Belly in the air fryer? I want perfect crackle

It is perfect crackle.

Use a good amount of salt.
After 20mins or so then with paper towelling soak up moisture. This also allows Pork to get too room temperature.
Apply oil and extra salt into skin.
Air Fryer 20mins on max temp (200)
Then another 30mins on 160.
Was around 1.2kg.

And im not a massive pork lover as it doesnt sit well, given its fatty content. But now with the air fryer i find it much more palatable.

Re: Coronavirus (Covid19)

Coles at Christies Beach

3pm today

Every checkout open, when normally only 1 maybe 2 max.
Overheard other customers say Woolies just further up the road is out of everything that people are stockpiling.
Coles were out of Toilet rolls, tissue, baked beans, hand soaps, even weetbix was nearly all gone and empty shelves where other cereal lives.
I really dont understand the hysteria.

Re: Coronavirus (Covid19)

My next question is, is anybody here stockpiling goods??

Or are we all sensible?
We always have at least 50 cartons of wine in the garage that cost us nothing as my missus works for a wine company.
Whilst I don't normally drink wine I'm willing to compromise in the case of an emergency.

Our only other concern is dog food. I know where im bunkering down....

Re: I need to know....

Just go to a normal clinic. Mrs went to Docs friday but was only going to the Docs for a script, she mentioned she wasnt feeling great, turns out she got tonsilitis.
If you're not feeling great, the older work colleague may still be at a higher risk to catch whatever you may have.

In this current climate, better to be cautious.

Does she take online orders and how far does she have delivery?
Just last Thursday I got some flowers sent to my mum.

Perhaps SAFooty members could help out with flowers for their missus.
I'd buy a bunch to help out.

Thankyou.

Yeah she can take orders.
Facebook probably the best place to go.
Flowers Aplenty. Does have credit card facilities.
As we are based at Christies, generally here to the city, but allowances can be made.

Sent from my SM-A520F using Tapatalk
Is this the website? It seems delivery is only down south?
Could send some flowers to my ex but I don't think that would go down well! [emoji38]

https://m.christiedownsflowers.com.au/delivery.asp?page=christie-downs-suburbs I think that is via a flower network and just set deliveries for southern area. But you can order directly via facebook or call her directly on 0414 922 478.
She has delivered to Prospect, West Lakes etc.

I know we aren't the only ones in this situation. So i do hope amongst all this, we can help out the small businesses where possible. Local butchers, fruit n veg etc.

Re: Coronavirus (Covid19)

Perhaps to be evenly balanced that chart you showed Dutchy, they should show what happens with cash compared to staying in the market when you move to cash at the top of the market and do a 5/10 year comparison.

People need to seek professional advice and not look at charts of tops/bottoms scenarios. As you can cherry pick your way to suit the angle of multiple opinions.

Absolutely moving to cash at the peak of the market is an ideal scenario if you are close to retirement, Ill be trying to nail this myself in a few years time.

But we are discussing the bottom (or near to it) of the market, where it is now, and what the best options are now.

Agree, everyone's position is different and professional advice should be sought .

Thats why I visit SA Footy. To get the professional help needed to guide through these situations
