Re: The never ending No AFL in the SANFL whinge thread

If you Centrals chumps put as much effort into raising money for your own club rather than obsessing over Port you wouldn't be rattling tins.

Taking advice on how to save your club from a Port fan. Seriously any mirrors at Alberton.

What’s next people from Wuhan telling us how to run the Central Markets

I have a better plan for us Centrals fans moving forward. Let’s raise money for our club whilst continuing to laugh at PAFCs demise.

Clearly an observation not advice. I couldn't give a toss about your club and it's red dirt, bull ant infested surrounds.
lol, as opposed to the possible tumble weed, bulldust infested outer at Alberton. :D :D

And stay away from our beaches, St Kilda's your beach. Worst thing they did was build that expressway :D

Re: Things that give you the sh1ts

Australia Post.
I know they’re busy because of Easter and everything else happening right now but how hard is it to deliver parcels from Melbourne to Adelaide
in a timely manner?
Been waiting over 2 weeks now and the tracking app just says it’s been delayed.
No shit Sherlock but when will I get my parcels.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, Australia Post are the worst organisation for customer service you will encounter.

Ordering through Catch I don’t think you get a choice of courier.
They are by far the worse in my experience as well.

Still **** waiting for my parcels.

I think Semaphore is officially the beach of the Elizabeathians. Taken in a peaceful, bloodless coup. :D

Damn straight, basketball singlets everywhere down here in summer :D
and hordes of lesbians, Semaphore must be the leso capital of Australia.

I was thinking the same thing. I was wondering whether Elizabethan is another name for Lesbian

Re: Netflix

Yeah, I'm really keen to watch it too, and I can't stand basketball. I'm also of a similar vintage to Booney, and can't not think of the 90s without Michael Jordan ( I did have a pair of his shoes, though ), so there's a slight nostalgia factor there as well. The doco seems to be more about the dynamics and tensions of the team environment, which appears to be what gives it such broad appeal.

I had 4's, 5's, 6's and 7's, a Bulls bomber jacket, a Pippen singlet and a full Flight tracksuit. Should have kept the clothes.

As Dutchy said it would be very easy. The camera/commentary crews are all set up it’s just a matter of negotiation.

LMA wrong again. Who would of thought :-)

We'll see. Is the footage and commentary up to standard to broadcast nationally on a platform like Foxtel though?

Have you ever got a hypothetical that could be possibility and may or may not eventuate right? Moron.

Re: What Are You Listening To Now?

There most recognizable, Berlin Chair. That whole album I love.

I go through phases where I can't get enough of 'Tuesday', while at other times 'How Much Is Enough', 'Soldiers', 'Trike', 'Damage' and 'Purple Sneakers' get a flogging.

Top 10
1. Berlin Chair
2. Everyone's to Blame
3. Jaimmes Got a Gal
4. Rosedale
5. How Much is Enough
6. Soldiers
7. She Digs Her
8. Purple Sneakers
9. Gray
10. Adam's Ribs

Very biased towards their first 2 albums

Re: I need to know....

Does anyone know what the percentage tax rate is when you cash out long service leave?

I thought I heard once it was 49% but I could be completely wrong.

My understanding is it will be treated as normal income tax unless a redundancy or termination has occured. An increase in percentage depends if it puts you into the next tax bracket. The most you'll pay is 45% if that given pay period times the amont of pay periods per year equates to over $180000 per annum. Go to pay calculator and add the Gross total of LSL to your normal wage and pay cycle.

Re: SANFL Clubs

Cant we just agree we have no idea what will happen? Know alls that know nothing.
Port wont be part of it as they will need the AFL lifeline as they did the SANFL.The SANFL does not need to be restructured IMO. The League competition will change but I think back to a 9 team fixture with the Crows just fielding a lot of top up players.

You've changed your tune

Re: AFL 2020 Season

Im with the players on this. If, as reported, they are in a hub for 20 odd weeks i think its a bit much to ask them to be away from partners / kids for that period of time. Mental health issues will go through the roof and not fair on their partners as well. Need to be an alternative to at least allow contact with families.

Would be a serious bout of blue balls getting around which could lead to more aggressive acts on the field :)

Flair or Confidential (maybe different publications?)

Re: Good Movies

I saw this a while back on Foxtel and I couldn't believe the age differences of the characters from when they were in the series. Shit they'd got old. I enjoyed it though. I loved Deadwood.

It was weird how it affected some more than others (albeit thats a fairly standard part of life I guess). Charlie Utter, Bullock and Sol all looked at least 20 years older, but the rest scrubbed up pretty well relatively speaking. Joanie Stubbs still looks mint for her age.

Another interesting aside which was either my memory letting me down, or a change for the movie version, was the several references for Jane becoming "Calamity Jane" (which we always knew she was anyway).

Have had this on my watchlist for so long. Even having daily emails from our new accounts lady named Trixie hasn't prompted me to watch it. I think I'm worried that it won't live up to what forever changed viewing for myself and many others.

Re: Food, Glorious Food

Quick tasty cheap meal:

Chuck some Jasmine rice in your rice cooker
Slice up some spring onions, green part and red chillies
When rice is done fry up an egg or two on both sides in a bit of peanut oil on high, the yolk must be runny.
Spoon rice in a bowl, top with spring onions, chillies, fried egg and Oyster sauce.
Break the egg up and mix around so the yolk cooks in the hot rice.

Re: Port Adelaide 2020

Because it's not just the same colours...they are both black and white stripes.
Eddie even said last night, throw some teal in there with the same jumper design. There may be black and white stripes on both, but the jumper designs are clearly quite different.

Notwithstanding that the One Club 1870 stuff is nonsense, I don't see why Port shouldn't be able to wear whatever jumper they want, at least for home games, and away games where there's no clash, like virtually every other sports team in the world.

I'm not sure why Collingwood cares so much - does Eddie think Collingwood supporters are going to switch to Port?

I seem to recall Port wore the prison bars against Richmond in a home final because Richmond didn't have a clash strip . I'm pretty sure Collingwood don't either. Why are Victorian teams allowed to forego clash jumpers even for away games and force other teams to find something else?

The whole guernsey thing in the AFL is a joke.

I've said it before, substitute common sense in for egos, and it's not an issue.

Richmond wore a predominant yellow guernsey in that game.

The professional era has ruined the game, and it can't be unchanged. As a prominent pundit said the other day, supporters support their side, but not the game or competition. Noone likes it until the end of the season when the premiers supporters are alright with it but noone else.

Said it a hundred times over recent years if it wasn't for tips, punting & supercoach I wouldn't watch it anymore.

Looking very likely that McKenna plus 5 others will miss the Carlton and Collingwood games whilst in isolation.
Names announced tomorrow morning but sounds like it’s McKenna, Merrett, Saad, McGrath, Stringer and Stewart

They should be playing Melbourne before Carlton or Collingwood. Rolling fixture, no crowds, they could play Melbourne tonight and then Carlton on next Monday or Tuesday night.

Higgins, Norths most skilled player needed to take it upon himself and snap that goal in the dying seconds rather than pass off, a perfect example of players nowadays getting instincts coached out of them in favour of team rules.

Could we re-title this thread 'Learning to Cry' REB?

Seeing as I'm naming them after songs this year I'm open to 'crying' song suggestions. My Straycat Strut side has been in the wars right from the start. Going so badly there I haven't even cracked 2 grand yet. Embarasking.
