Re: Coronavirus (Covid19)

Got a good story about those lunch bags and canteens.

Is this one of those facebook posts where you have to ask? Ok, I'll ask....

DO TELL!?

Ha!

Mrs Boon helps out in the school canteen from time to time, she was in there one day and as the brown bag was getting emptied to small bags of meth fell out with the $4 for the lunch order. Mum and Dad Deadshit obviously forgot where they were hiding their shit.

Imagine if the kid had played with it? Imagine if another kid had played with it?

Sooooo
What did Mrs Boon do with it?

Re: Things that make you sad.

So much hate flying around social media of late.. are people growing restless and weary from this lockdown stuff? Are we becoming more vengeful, racist and narcissistic the longer this goes on?

So sad, so many people who act entitled and like the world should adhere to their opinions and views.

Why cant everybody love everybody.. :(

Don’t get social media and the real world mixed up.

It’s why I don’t use that crap(social media).

Each to their own.
I have a 38kg Dalmatian lap dog
We have a dog flap so he can go in and out as he pleases but when we are home he chooses inside 100% of the time. When we are not home, he's got a choice between outside or laundry (where the dog flap goes into).

X 2 for our dog.

The kids love having the dog inside.
The dog gets cleaned and eats better than I do most days.

Re: Coronavirus (Covid19)

Us Coronavirus update :

Confirmed cases : 1,035,765 ( Trump said when they had 15 cases it would go away like a miracle )

Deaths : 59,266 ( Spain and Italy had just under 51,000 combined )

New York deaths : 23,144 ( Only Italy has had more )
How many people die from the flu in the US each year approximately? I heard it's up to 60,000 people. Is that correct?

Re: Coronavirus (Covid19)

July is what I'm hearing atm, and that's with social distancing measures in place.
FFS!!!!!!!!!

Why the rush? Its a nice to have, not a need to have IMO.
Strongly disagree.

Me too.
There are some older people out there who treat their local and the people in it as family.
Not sure what they are doing during lockdown but I hope they see it through and can attend the pub shortly for a catchup.

There’s one old bloke I chat too who has no family(well none he speaks of or too) that I fear for.
I have no idea where he lives or even his name as I only know him by his nickname, so I can’t even drop by to say g’day.

The pub is more than a place to just get tanked.

Re: Coronavirus (Covid19)

Anyone on here been tested?
I got tested on Saturday.

Friday evening I had a slight temp and a dry cough so thought it best to book an appointment with the doctor Saturday morning.
It was a Telehealth appointment due to my symptoms.
Booked in for 11.45am Saturday.
Doctor rang me at 11.30am as he said he was ahead of time(that never happens normally).

He asked me several questions which I replied No to everything but he said as you have a slight fever you need to get tested.

He said go the Repat at Daws Road and I’ll fax/email the referral through.
I live 5-10 mins away so drove there and there was 1 car there getting tested.
Got tested straight away.

A swab in the gob and one in the nostril.

They said they will SMS the results in up to 48 hours.
I was deemed low risk so had to wait the full 48 hours.

Had to isolate for those 48 hours.

They SMS this morning to say it was negative.

Thank **** for that as I need to get out and get a real coffee!

Plus I can see/hug the family again.

The whole procedure was great and managed well.
Big tick for SA Pathology.

Re: SANFL Clubs

I can see the SANFL bailing Port out but in return they have to have no association with the PAFC in the AFl. A separate ground, membership and Admin Areas. They will have their own CSO etc. Much like it was. Players to be split between all 9 SANFL clubs. That includes the new SANFL Port.

That would be a dream come true for us Port fans who have no interest in Port power

They should never of changed it originally.

Shut the doors of the Magpies forever please.
It’s better for all that way.

Re: SANFL Clubs

With the AFL now in Ports control , I would like to know if the AFL deliberately not allow a Crows reserves team in the SANFL? It may turn out that neither franchises aren't part of it but I would not write off a 9 team competition next year. It changes quickly.
It will make it very interesting as I cant see an AFL reserves competition.

That is news, Booney and LMA will be more smug.

Yep, thats why we ended up going with someone we know and has done good work with some friends and other people we know around the area.

As we sold some shares and cashed some LSL to pay for our set up I'm going to monitor the savings pretty closely. Will report once we get our first bill which should be soon.

On a average winters day with half sunny/half cloudy we find we are off grid from around 9am to 9/10pm. If full day of cloud cover (yesterday) that reduces to about 7pm, if a fully sunny day (today) we usually go to bed with some battery charge left and it runs out in the small hours of the morning.

Yeah keep us posted.
I’m happy to pay a bit extra to get it done right.
The wife’s working from home indefinitely now even post Covid(whenever that is) so it makes even more sense for us to do it.

Re: Coronavirus (Covid19)

Working in rec centres and whilst Job Keeper is helping with our P&L's its killing us at any operational level.

We have primarily a casual staff force. We had staff who were previously working 10 hours a week roughly $250 a week who are now getting $1,500 a fortnight whether they work or not.

Do you think the casual staff are making themselves overly available at the moment or will to pick up shifts etc when in 'their minds' they are working for free.

Yes legally we can terminate them if they refuse to work shifts but legally it's almost impossible to enforce especially being regional where reasons such as 'im in Adelaide', 'im helping out on the family farm' are legitimate regardless of whether we see otherwise on their social media etc.
Like several similar government policies it was well-intended but poorly thought out and implemented too hastily.

I would liken it to Kevin Rudd's $900 GFC payments. Not a bad idea, put some money out on the streets to stimulate spending - even if most of it went on Plasma TVs. But the implementation of it... My missus had gone on maternity leave in the year prior and her earnings fell just under the tax free threshold. Since she paid no net tax in the previous FY she got $0. Myself, I earned a little over the threshold at which the payment reduced. So we got $600 between us. Conversely, my dear old granny copped the full $900 - this despite the fact that she had passed away some months prior!

Now who is most likely to put the $ back into the economy - a couple with two small kids, or a dead person? Similarly the Job Keeper plan is well intentioned but poorly targeted.

Why?
Geezus, where to start?

People who werent earning a cent suddenly got $1500 pf, people making a living working full time suddenly got nothing.
Two people doing exactly the same job for exactly the same time could have one get it and the other not dependong on circumstances nothing to do with them.
Employers are abusing it, employees are refusing to work.
And they couldn't even get within 50 billion dollars when costing it.
I could go on for ever but thats the tip of the ice berg.
Most amateur effort ever by a governement.

The government had to act quickly and they did.
Did they get right?
Time will tell but you can’t really blame the government for dodgy employers or employees taking advantage of the situation.
The government were on a hiding to nothing either way.

Angaston were rusty today in the first half being 2 goal down at half time. It was then the Summerton show as he put on a clinic in the 2nd half to win by 5 goals

Re: I need to know....

Changed a fuse in my car today and when the dead fuse was pulled out, the prongs decided they wanted to stay inside the fuse box. Of course I didn’t notice until I tried to put the new fuse in and wondered why it would only go in half way. Would I be right in thinking my next step would be an autoelectrician? The prongs aren’t sticking out or anything so can’t use pliers/tweezers to pull them out, which has been the most common fix for the issue I’ve read online. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200806/96cbf525a9da26cbd7c89a2b7e95c3ed.jpg

Re: Coronavirus (Covid19)

I had a test last week but there was no instruction for the rest of the family to get tested which I found odd too

we specifically asked when i had mine. was told to not share bathrooms, keep my distance from the rest of the family, but that was it.

might have been a different answer if i was getting tested as i have had a close contact or something though? i was only going as i had some sypmtoms, basically a head cold.

Thats because you have more chance of winning a SGM than catching Covid and the Doctors know it

Re: Coronavirus (Covid19)

This is my take on things:

If I'm going to get worked up over what somebody I don't even know says on a faceless forum then I'd be thinking that I'm the one with the issue.

If you don't like what your reading, skim past, for all we know Apache could be 2 twelve year old girls winding up a bunch of middle aged blokes.

I think there's a little more to worry about in our lives than what happens on here.

Totally agree, LM. I like to read this topic as find out good info, but just don't read what those couple of posters write at all anymore, so this works a treat. Scroll past as soon as see their name, easy fixed!

Why do people only read stuff that they like or agree with?
How do you educate or better yourself with that theory?
I enjoy reading some of the stuff on here I don’t agree with.

Apache has brought a different dimension to this thread.
Boring as bat shit if every one shares the same opinion.

That’s why this place is worse off without HH3, Morrell, Carey, BennyMacca etc.

I agree with you both, they have become tiresome. They derail the thread with all sorts of garbage, call people sheep & then contradict themselves, or change their argument to suit the latest lot of dross they have unearthed.
Whilst I don't agree with them I don't think they derail the thread, they create traffic if anything.

I actually appreciate their views, we can't all be the same, I am yet to open any of Apache's links etc. as there is nothing I can do as an individual to fix anything, I can only follow government advice and do what I think is right.
