Re: Coronavirus (Covid19)

Quite a few changes today :

1) Effective immediately: Quarantine period for household COVID contacts in SA goes down from 14 to seven days – effectively immediately.

2) Effective from midnight tonight:

– Person who has had COVID can now only be considered a close contact after 12 weeks – up from eight.

– Definition of close personal interaction goes from 15 minutes to four hours.

– Masks at Adelaide Oval required indoors only.

Mr Malinauskas says the change to isolation rules “brings us in line with the rest of the nation”.

He also said he is working towards removing general mask mandates by 14 April – “all being well”. Still required in certain high-risk settings

The new Premier using some good Ol’ common sense.

Re: No more Adelaide 500 - Super Cars

I've no interest in motor sport but I wouldn't have thought that up to four days of irritation every year was that much of a burden to bear? Particularly if the race generates crowds and money. At any rate, public roads are closed for all sorts of things these days.

we close king william street every weekend when there are AFL games on at adelaide oval dont we? just as an example

people only complain about things being a problem when they arent personally interested in them.

i go to the V8's every year, so i dont mind the closed roads (probably helps i live north, not east too :) )

I live in the west and work in the east and have to battle this each year.
Small price to pay given the $$ and excitement it creates.

Re: CRICKET AUSTRALIA REVIEW

Been saying since the start he was a certainty.

Not that you get a good glimpse but all throughout the broadcast and news footage etc the players always seemed to be getting around McDonald. He seemed to have strong relationships with them.

When Cummins came out and talked about the style of Langer and how that didn't suit the team it just has to be McDonald who is the complete opposite from Langer, I met him and saw him operate during his time at Port Adelaide and he was very measured and calm.

No redhead is measured and calm.

Re: I need to know....

Robe!
Any good suggestions for things to do/see/eat/drink this Easter.

Got the Pubs and the Brewery all sorted just need other suggestions here.
We go every new year for 2 weeks,
the chicks go to Holiday every bloody day & buy clothes,
the blokes go to the brewery, the beer is shite but young uns like it,
Sails food is excellent, the Caledonian is nowhere near as good as it used to be, the old Robe pub up closer to the marina is much better & has a fantastic view,
Cape Jaffa winery is excellent,
Nora Creina is stunning, take your fishing gear,
If you like 4WD'ing, go the Little Dip track from Robe to Beachport, or get off at Nora Creina, great fun & magnificent coastal views.
Woodsoak winery makes a nice drop & they usually open a little cellar door on the main street,
eat the local Gummy Shark, it's delicious.
Go to the marina and ask if you can be a dekky for a day,
Go to Beachport & go to the cafe opposite the jetty & have a fresh crayfish roll, magnificent!
Day trips to the Coonawarra wine region,
drive along the Robe beach & stop & have a picnic/bbq,
I love the place & could retire there (in the summer).
Enjoy!

There’s a new brewery in Beachport next to the cafe.
Opened 2 days ago.

The beers way better than the Robe brewery.

Re: ANZAC Round 6

Charlie Spargo had taken over from Sicily as the most punchable face in the AFL

'Cory' Weightman is a contender

Jack Ginnivan is firming, will be odds on after ducking into a few tackles today.

No one else is in the contest, Ginnivan hands down. Oh for the old days when a little upstart like this wouldnt have seen quarter time.

Honourable mention to Chad Warner

David Rhys Jones would have had a word or two to him by 1/4 time for sure.

Are you sure for 2K a night it is "accommodation" you are paying for? Is the room hosted?

I’m there in a couple of weeks for work.
My work budget is $300 a night.
I might have to chip in the difference here if it is ‘hosted’.

hopefully you have got something booked, i just had to book again for 5 July and theres very little on offer, got in at the Oasis for around 200 a night

Nope.
I normally book last minute.

Re: Things that you rate!

I rate breweries. Now that may seem obvious but I'm talking about the breweries that have popped up in the last 5 or so years.

Pirate Life, Big Shed, Sweet Amber, Smiling Samoyed, Shapeshifter, Little Bang, Shifty Lizard, South Coast, Goodieson, Swell, Vale, Kick Back, Bowden, Bright Star, Blackwood, Prancing Pony, Barossa, Bond Store, Brew Boys, Lobethal, Rehn Bier, Watsacowie, Western Ridge, Meechi....that's just the ones I've visited!

Their introduction to the SA food / brew scene is brilliant, one of the best "trends" of the last decade I reckon. I rate beer!

Cheers for the list.
A couple I haven’t been too so googling them now.

Re: What The F***

Whilst I don't agree with Ricky Nixon reaction there has to be a law or a terminology someone can use that requires the media to stop asking questions if they don't wish to answer them at that point in time. From that point on it becomes harassment from the media's end.

Ask the question fine but no one should have to answer a question or be required to deal with people following you repeating themselves.

Photos/video from a distance I think can somewhat be tolerated but people following/harassing and entering personal space is another matter imo.

I was thinking the same thing when I watched it.
I don't know what I would do if someone did this to me - I wouldn't hit him though.
Probably something personal like "did you shower today" or "did you clean your teeth today?"

Or, "FU** OFF!!"

He said sorry straight away.
