Re: Things that make you laugh

Don't know if it makes me laugh.. or if I rate it.. but last night on Kayo I discovered ESPN Ocho (think that's what it was called).. brilliant!

Cherry pip spitting
Pizza Acrobatic championships
Chess Boxing
Stone skipping championships
Juggle Dodgeball

WTF comes up with this stuff?!
Shame you missed the greatest moment in ESPN Ocho's history, about 15 years ago Peter LaFleur lead Average Joe's Gym to win the Las Vegas Open Invitational with a come-from-behind, sudden-death dodgeball win over White Goodman and the GloboGym Purple Cobras.
Full credit must be given to Patches O'Houlihan for the intense training with minimal preparation time.

Some fine commentary by Cotton McKnight at the tight stages.

None of this would have been possible without Chuck Norris.

Re: Adelaide Crows 2020

Does your boss fine you when you do something illegal such as being caught DUI?
This is a fine on top of what he will get from the courts, its a huge penalty compared to the rest of society. As for role model, what rubbish, only 4000 of the Crows fans would know who he is.

My boss wouldn't fine me, he would sack me though as i'm sure would be the case with a lot of other people
If it is specifically written into your work contract, then that is fair enough.

Re: AFL 2020 Season

So when will the AFL announce there dates start day pretty much the same as the NRL.

Absolutely no chance the AFL would give the NRL a 'leg up' not find a way to get games on TV screens.
This would only ever apply in NSW and QLD. I doubt an AFL fan from anywhere else in Australia would change codes just because Rugby League is on TV and the AFL isn't. I would still prefer watching old games of footy rather than live Rugby League.

The exact market the AFL has been trying to crack for how long now!!

Geez they are having to fund two entire franchises to crack the market, you think their going to lose any gains they've made over a start date.

They will find a way to have some games playing within a week or two at most of that start date. Even if it means split rounds to start with.
Yeah, was just a general comment.

They might even look at getting the NSW and QLD teams playing the first games if they are really worried.

agree with this comment. I only ever watch Eels games and the likelihood I'd watch Penrith vs Canberra is very very slight indeed, despite it being live.

Go the Panthers!

All AFL Teams Team

I had a crack at putting together a starting 18 using only 1 player from each team, below is my result. I put this together off the top of my head in about 20 minutes so don't come at me. I will have a better think when I have a bit more time to spare. Definitely some things to tidy up, but not a bad side overall.

Has talent but is just horribly lazy.

A few years too young for Geelong to recruit him.

He would be better off staying at North and winning a flag or 2 in a few years and then going to Geelong.

They are going to back in Burns

Terrible terrible terrible
If Warner and Pucovski aren't available, what options are thete? Burns recent form is poor, but his test record is pretty good.

Harris and Marnus can open.
Though Burns test record is pretty good like you said so that may get him the nod.
Leave Marnus where he is making runs. We need to pick 2 Openers, not promote a batsman to fill a gap.

Re: R12 Eagles v Glenelg Sunday 1335

Excellent game. Similar to the same fixture in 2019 when Glenelg kicked away in the last few minutes. Lively crowd on Sunday, and the audience participation award probably goes to the Bay bloke to the right of the Percy Fox Stand who grabbed the match ball from an out of bounds on the full call against the Tigers and refused to return it, for what seemed like an age, until the Glenelg defensive lines (all 18 of them) were intact. Not much the umps could do!
I'm sure they contemplated awarding the Eagles something.

Re: Round 16

Games start on 7 Aug with the GF being played on the long week end of the 3rd October.

SANFL press release
https://sanfl.com.au/league/news/sanfl-releases-updated-fixtures-for-2021-season/

'“For many years, the October long weekend was a really successful tradition for the SANFL Grand Final so both the League and Clubs agreed this was the most favourable date to conclude what has been another unprecedented season due to the Covid pandemic,” Mr Chandler said.'

Since the SANFL believes having the GF on the long weekend is so successful, they could consider leaving it there.

It worked well with a 21-game season, but with an 18-game season the season would have to be started very late April or have lots of byes/split-rounds to drag it out to late October.

21 game season with 8 teams would work.
