Re: Things that make you laugh

This may be controversial but here goes.

I cannot believe the women cricketers chasing equal remuneration. Last weekend channel 10 shoved what I believe was the worst standard of any sport I have seen telecasted live for 2 days.

I would like to point out I love cricket , I have a mother , daughter and sister and am not against women in sport but don't attempt to promote a product that is so poor .

If my sister , daughter or mother was playing I would watch and attend but outside that no thanks . Now before I am shot down ,yes I can turn the channel as I did BUT when I go to a BIG BASH game at AO I do not want that crap played as a curtain raiser . I would rather watch our under 19 development players or alike .

Ex Christies Beach FF Dan Nobes has kicked 18 in his first 2 games for Waikerie. Kicked 7 against Barmera-Monash who are one of the contenders, which he sprayed a few so should of kicked 10..........

Was anyone in the SFL able to stop him? Bit of gumby bloke who isn't real quick, but his size & hands are pretty solid!!! Interested to see who can stop him down in the riverland, not many clubs play with a tall full back haha. Will kick a 100+ easy by the looks

Re: 2019 SANFL Season

Up she bobs again !! Firstly emu Name 1 player that South have rorted from local clubs, used or abused. They have been allowing players to go back to their local clubs if not picked or when byes have been allocated. They have also provided coaching clinics for GSFL clubs and SFL clubs and had SAFC players attend local coaching clinics. Senior and junior coaches at South have attended local footy matches to support players that have gone back into local footy and supported inter league games as well. Secondly shoe boy all the support given to Hayden McLean was above board, transparent and inside all the rules applied. Yet another barb from the vocal local. Here's a thought Why don't you guys focus on your local footy and maybe every now and then turn up to an sanfl game and support them. Your absence is noted.

Barracker1 , I regularly attend SA games including the 16 game on the wend !
I asked a simple straight question .

Re: Great Southern Football League

Can umpires ever please? Miss free kicks they get slammed, pay too many free kicks they get slammed... Its loose loose situation.

With regards to 50m penalties a stricter interpretation of the rule is always going to increase the number given in a game....
The GSFL and SFL have the same umpiring panel,

If the umpires just called the obvious and let the game go (as they do in finals) every one would be happy .

Re: COVID-19

I might be speaking for a minority here but im astounded at the negativity around trying to get football underway.
Whilst I understand people are concerned about loss of income crowds etc I think we all know the SANFL and the government would have plans to support this. I would have thought people would be hanging to get out have a kick and get back into it....what`s the alternative ?? sit home and mow the lawn 4 times a week? Maybe its a sign of the times but football used to be a major part of people lives who would jump any obstacle to get out on the field.

Couldn't agree more, imagine getting to early August and all restrictions are lifted and there is no footy to be played or attend. The impact on the communities cannot be under estimated.

The problem is the SANFL and government dont have plans to support clubs going through current landscape .(just the restrictions from SA HEALTH and SANFL return to play COVID-19 restrictions which MUST be strictly adhered to) We all want football to continue but the landscape is something we all have never seen including scientists , doctors etc . Clubs at grass roots level are run by volunteers who have the whole club from seniors too mini grades to consider .

No reason, This is a landscape that none have seen before.

Re: Southern Football League

If you are going to make comments make sure they are accurate !

No agreements were made by clubs at the last league meeting just a discussion what a season would look like and a starting date and finish.

What was put on the table was all clubs to have nominations to the SFL by the 19/6/2020 .

What's with the negative feeling towards the league SB ? Senior Players bagging the SFL online... Not sure what else you expected them to do? Maybe you wanted them to cancel the whole season because you knew you were struggling?

I dont know where you get an idea we have an issue with SFL ? I cant comment for players as comments made are not reflective of the NFC .

As for my personal opinion on the whole football community within the state the SANFL including the community football league has been a circus where decisions made have pitted club against club league against league player against player and community's against administration's in a time where most volunteer time and time again .

Dont forget the decision makers have a fat cat mentality where they have a vested interest to look after themselves without making decisions for the betterment of football within the state . Remeber the HUB 10 AND 15 cash grab same decision makers ! Review and restructure of SANFL???? This is my opinion and not reflective of NFC.

Re: Adelaide Plains Football League

Leagues don’t make the decisions! It’s voted on by league delegates so all the clubs approved Bute coming in with 20 points.
This year was always going to be a kick n a catch. I’ve heard already players have season ending injuries and it’s only the first game.
Clubs asking for more points is clearly from the influx of players from none playing leagues which any good coach would be asking if we can fit these players in.
If you are going to direct your disappointment at current state of play direct it at the SANFL and the Community Football League who have made this mess where we see player v player, club v club and league v league with just a vested interest on their pay cheque more than what is best for football in the whole state.

Why are Flaggies wasting any more time in a lingering competition. The 2021 premiership side doesn't look anywhere near the strength of their earlier ones either.

Would currently be a top div 3/just below middle div 2 side from what I've seen in recent times. They would be capable of reaching the top division in a few years.
Or they could waste time in the Ammos that doesn't reflect anything like SFL , OR wait and become a player in a divisional comp that will be the envy of grass roots footy in this state.

Re: International Politics

Is Putin's demands of returning Crimea to Russia and the neutrality of the Ukraine really that extreme? Depends on what is meant by neutrality.

If the Ukrainian people want their country to enter into alliances, or have closer ties with the West, then that's entirely their business; not the Russian government's.

NATO is no threat to Russia, which is of course free to enter into its own alliances or unions if it wishes.

The aggressor here is Russia, and while I suppose making demands themselves doesn't harm anyone, the fact that the Ukrainians haven't accepting them is no justification whatsoever for Russia's actions, IMO.

In some ways Ukraine is already neutral - it has not really done anything to Russia.

Also, Ukraine is a democracy, albeit it a flawed one. Russia is not, and thus you're playing a dangerous game if you cave into its demands. Really I should be saying Putin's demands, as it's not at all clear the extent to which the Russian people support the invasion.

In terms of Russia demanding Crimea to be given back, well, if every state or province which was formerly part of a different country was given back, the world map would look very different. Part of Europe's stability since 1945 is owed to the fact that political borders - though in some cases arbitrary - have been respected (mainly).

However, if the Crimean people want to join Russia, then no that demand isn't in and of itself one that I would call extreme.

There has been Russian insurgents(freedom fighters) fighting for the past 8 years.
As for NATO would the US accept Russia suppling Venezuela , Mexico , Cuba with weapons and Russian military bases?
