Re: Daily Golf - Where you are playing and how you go

Stableford round on cored and top dressed greens! Yuck.
(Done now for club champs in about a month)

Started really well on the front 9 getting my approach shots fairly close to eliminate distance putts over slow top dressing went out with 20 points pretty happy. Go to get my putter out of my bag on 10 the head has snapped off! clean snapped. Being a comp round, I had to finish the round ‘putting’ with my 3 wood for disgusting results. Come in with 10 points, yep 10.

F**k Golf......

Well I’ve just returned him from the gentleman’s where we were world economics over a glass or 2 of the regions finest they had to offer whilst puffing on cuban cigars looking down at the peasents gather at the door way looking for crumbs, ability or any other thing they can scavage

So upon arrive home as discussed I’ll indulge on my what could’ve been great day on the hallow turf we call Mawson Lakes.

First 5 holes- Par-Par-Birdie-Bogey-par at this stage I currently have a rock hard boner that the great John Holmes would be proud of, single figures here I come! Next 4 pffft won’t bore you with them.

On the turn 22 points the world is my ostyer- some prick get me bacon pieces cheese and wosty sauce cause I’m on!

Bang! That’s me hitting earth.

10- 1 point, 11 1 point, 12-1 point

I spit the dummy and have a moment! My marker says your 25 points after 12 holes relax!

13 through 18! 4 pars a birdie and a bogey.

40 points

10.2  1 more good round I’m single figures! :supz:

FYI- Rose Tattoo weren’t bad, Jets weren’t loud enough and the tempo on all played was down, Bank St social is full of f**k wits, Electra house WTF! Woolshed line was to long. Corporate box today. :drinkers:

Re: Port Adelaide 2019

If the product is crap the price point is irrelevant.
If they improve on field they’ll increase their membership and prices to go with it.

Just fingers crossed and hope they exist by that point hey.

BTW most people would agree the ‘product’ is rubbish these days compared to the late 90’s in particular yet that hasn’t impacted membership numbers.

Refer to opinions on the ‘AFL has lost me thread’

AFL clubs have the luxury of a captive audience, there are two types of AFL membership purchaser

1/ will literally pay anything to be a member every year, loyal to death. Take Booney as a classic example, whinges the AFL is losing him, disenchanted with the club, questioning the price.....will be the first in line for sales next seaaon

2/ supporter who jumps off at the first sign of no onfield success, will use any other excuse to defend their non attendance. Wouldn’t purchase a $50 membership if there Team wasn’t winning

Re: Daily Golf - Where you are playing and how you go

Murray Bridge today absolutely cracking day for it and the course is in unreal condition, for $29 seriously underrated course.

Golf was pretty good, tee to green was awesome, actually felt like I couldn’t hit the ball any better struggled with putter today, certainly not the greens fault put I kept leaving everything short :-?? Possibly playing so many different greens of late, they were pretty wet early also.

73 off the bat 5 over (par 68) 7 bogeys and 2 birdies. 3 putted 3 faaaaaaaaarking times and one of them was still a par! Have an eagle putt and make par that’s pretty ordinary

Was well behaved, I took 8 red cans and only finished 4 all on the back 9.

Mrs is still talking to me as I got back to the farm still in reasonable condition. That’s a win.

Great comment by Punter re: Marnus.

He should be not allowed to pass judgement on a DRS.

I’m sick to f**king death of Marnus, who does he think he is? This whole no ruuuuun bullshit, the over exaggerated leaving swinging the bat around and the way he carries on trying to be Steve Smith then every time he gets out there’s an excuse or a reason backed up by the media. Then we he bowls every ball is a wicket. Every time they get a wicket runs straight to Steve Smith to lick his a55. I Can’t stand the prick

Re: COVID-19

Wonder what people’s thoughts on the 8 team 14 round seasons are now? It’s not ideal but neither is our current community scenario. Based on current events you’d be kidding yourself if you’d think we’d get through an 18 round season plus finals without interruption - Even if the government in charge changed hands…
The arsehole in me hopes the season is interrupted by covid and a few clubs are relegated due to circumstances (or cost a finals position).. might actually make some of the narrow sighted, self indulgent people at clubs sit up and realise they need to look long term/bigger picture than just their precious 18 round season.

Celebrate the draw you pea hearts

Warm froths and pickled eggs will be flowing tonight.

They faught out a hard earnt draw. As they should take something out of it. Morale would be at its lowest point I’d imagine in the dressing rooms. They’ve had a tour from hell of course they’ll take this as a small win.

Jim would say they’d be pea hearts if they lost, but then call them pea hearts when they fight out a draw. Regardless of the result.

Fact is, Australia like usual, are far to cautious with declarations. That’s Langer, anyone who thinks that Cummins is kidding themselves.

Captains trophy yesterday- Stroke round, certainly didn’t add my name to list of winners, I was only 11 shots off the winner!

Actually played a pretty solid round, 76 off the bat nett 73. Missed a couple of 3-4 footers, but also sunk a couple of 10-12 foot putts so that probably evens out, went in the water on 15, that was actually a decent ball but it hit the 100m marker and took a left in to the water. Prick.

I was only really pissed off on the 12th approx 350m par 4, I’ve nailed a cracking drive putting it dead centre of the fairway, pin is back left on a ‘smallish’ green pull out my wedge landed it a foot or so passed the hole and it has dead set ripped back to the front of the green! I generally get a bit of spin with my wedge, 54 and 52 but this was insane, I was filthy as it’s the birdie hole, should’ve been a tap in birdie instead I’ve got a 15m putt, which I subsequently 3 putted and walked off fuming #-O

C grader off 28 finished with nett 62.
