Re: Sheffield Shield Season 2015/2016

Is there an Australian Selector on duty at the game.... does anyone know?

If we get the chockies, and host the final, will Junior or Bacchus be taking an interest in the game?

Sayers is close to Aussie selection, and Head just made another ton, on what WAS a difficult wicket, with Bird a current test bowler in the line up...you'd think they would be interested... right?

Rod Marsh was there yesterday.

Doesn't mean a thing.
I'm sure he makes decisions to try to prove he knows everything that other people dont

Will be interesting to see if Abbott takes credit for that being his policy

Time for Fester to go public to tell the story publicly via the media if his story his true. The NFC will support him going by his admission of his reputation at the club. Norwood should instigate this because as it stands now Fester is wrong due to media personalities. Fester over to you so the truth is told.

Re: Job Scene/Employment in SA

I work in construction and it's the slowest it's been in my 14 years in the industry, across all trades. I've never had so many guys asking if we're employing because they know a few blokes looking for work. In the downtimes it's usually the dead wood that get the chop but good tradesman are finding it hard now, which is a worry.

Cant be right: I got a letter from Pyne tonight saying hes delivered the 12 subs to SA

Re: Abbott/Liberal Govt Watch

Interesting.....

He's actually saying he helped secure 12 new submarines but it is crafted to look like they are being built in SA along with the future frigates

Koutsantonis' $20,000 ad in the paper stated that the SA Government steel procurement policy mandates the use of Australian Standard steel.
“Australian Standard” steel does not automatically imply “Australian made”
As for saying they can't find out how much imported steel was used in the nRAH or Adelaide Oval is just a blatant lie.
All of this detail would be readily available

Re: Restaurant & Pub Reviews

Went to the Thai by 3 Monkeys with the family last night after rave reviews from a member of the family
I thought it was so - so compared to my favourite Thai restaurants
No heat in the dishes at all compared to the chilli-o-meter on the menu
$50 ph was also expensive for what we had

Out of interest mate, which Thai restaurants would you recommend?

Parade Thai - I still go there before Norwood games seeing Banger decided we are the only football supporters in the world that doesn't need a BBQ
Star of Siam
I used to love Lanna Thai but it shut down - the Larp was magnificent
I asked Mrs 041 last night what she thought about 3 Monkeys whilst eating her homemade meatballs in chilli basil tomato sauce by candlelight
"I make better Thai food" That not arrogance at all seeing she's a magic chef and taken Thai lessons including in Thailand

I've made a typically rock solid suggestion.

If a club elects to drop divisions, A graders who leave may not be allowed to return for a determined period.

Here's a rock solid suggestion that will solve a question that's been confounding scientists for centuries
Next time you play Salisbury West, swap your B and C Grades so we can finally sort out whether a D1R side could beat a D7 A Grade side

Re: Game Of Thrones Discussion (TV Spoilers, NO BOOK SPOILER

The Iron Fleet is now a critical part of the story. Who will Yara & Theon align with?

Interesting to see what part they might play. Whilst Yara & Theon could side with Jon and Sansa, Aeron (and his brother if he shows up) is the type of nutter that could well side with Ramsey.

Best thing that could happen this season would be for Tormund to have his way with Brienne, then cut her head off afterward. Can't stand her so be happy to see her gone, but must confess I'd be glad to have a peak beneath the armor first (or after for that matter).

Highlight of an average day for the Hawks was the Kransky roll.

I did suggest to the PAOC BBQ Grandmaster at yesterday that the ROCS chilli kranskis are better than his cheese ones and got a Gordon Ramsayesque response......

As a user of the Gawler line - it ain't fine.
Whats wrong with it and how would you be better off with it being electrified taking into account electrification doesnt alter the timetable and would make the line reliant on one part that has no replacement in the world?
As I said my only gripe is more carriages arent put on, electrifying them would make that possibility even more unlikely.
Seafood line shut down again tonight leaving passengers out in the cold and rain, bet those northerners are still jealous with their reliable service.

Re: New Clubs for 2017

Have Hectorville gone a bit rogue the last couple of years?

* Jumping into SANFL Juniors in defiance to the rest of the NEMJFL
* Pushing for extra clubs to be relegated in the case of new additions to the league
* Wanting new clubs to buy into a share of the league (around $40k) in order to join, even though they could never claim it back if they left.

This letter was actually very good and was meant to do nothing more than create debate
It covered most of the issues surrounding the possible entry of new clubs

Some (I) would say they were 8 months ahead of everyone else (ie) they foresaw the issues now being discussed on here

I have nothing to do with permits so this is a personal opinion.
On the face of it, 9 / 7 means he was one game the wrong side of the equation and the fact he played the last 7 games in the B Grade would probably have tipped the scales. I would suggest if he'd played 7 B Grade and then 9 A Grade; he would have been drinking beer at 12.15
I don't have a problem with the permit. Good common sense approach

Re: New Clubs for 2017

Actually, think you'll find PNU has had a shocking run with injuries across the A and B grade this year, which made things worse for the C grade

The dozen or so blokes who elected not to play football this year (and/or got jobs outside of metropolitan Adelaide) in mid to late March is what proved most difficult. Somewhat ironically our teams in the earlier trial matches were the strongest we've played all year. Them be the breaks.
Surely they would have pushed the better players up from the D-Grade tho, or is @marbles on the money?

Sent from my SM-G900I using Tapatalk

Hence why half a dozen of the D Grade Finals side had to be coaxed out of retirement at various points in the year (owed to the particular skill of the D Grade Coach).

Marbles probably has a reasonable point in that it's easier to coax someone out of retirement to play D7R (and C3/C5) to D7

I should add an erudite member of the forum commented to me during the PNU PAOC D1R match that the PAOC C Grade could beat our reserves side that day. I assured him he was indeed correct, the PAOC C Grade side had beaten most of those blokes twice already in D7.

Just one of those years.

So, your discussion with this erudite member of the forum was with respect to the question........

Would a D7 side beat a D1R side?
