Re: The South Australian Political Landscape

Koutsantonis has the same self belief of his image that Foley had, and has many of the same attributes
Difference is, Kouta has the shoppies boss onside - very close friends
Kouta has seen Abbott win, despite similar personality flaws, and that's given him the confidence he can do it as well

Re: Scams

How many freaking SPAM calls am I getting at the moment!!!

((((((((((Ring ring))))))))))
"Hello, Jimmy_041 speaking"
............pause........................
"Hello, is that Mr 041?"
"Isn't that what I just said?"
"Don't worry, we're not trying to sell you anything"
"Really, that's a relief because I get very abusive with those sorts of people"
"We are just doing a survey on your household water"
"Really.....that's good because I use normal mains water and it tastes terrible"
"Well, you're in luck, I'm from Puratap and we're in your area next week"
"Well that's great - a free Puratap system"
"It's not free"
"What does it cost?"
"Our representative will discuss some options with you when they come out"
"I thought you weren't selling anything......"
((((((((((SILENCE))))))))))
!@##$^&%*&^_(&%$&^$#@@%#*&(&_ (as promised)

Next one:
((((((((((Ring ring))))))))))
"Hello, Jimmy_041 speaking"
............pause........................
"Hello, is that Mr 041?"
"Isn't that what I just said?"
"Don't worry, we're not trying to sell you anything"
"Really, that's a relief because I get very abusive with those sorts of people"
"I'm from the Victor Harbor Hearing Centre and we are offering you a free hearing test"
"Really.....that's good because I keep hearing a background din in my ears and I yell a lot"
"Well, you're in luck, I can make you an appointment next week"
"Well that's great - what happens if I am going deaf"
"We will assess you and have several options for devices that you may consider"
"Really, that's great, especially seeing they're free"
"The device won't be free"
"I thought you weren't selling anything......"
((((((((((SILENCE))))))))))
!@##$^&%*&^_(&%$&^$#@@%#*&(&_ (as promised)

My favourite one:
((((((((((Ring ring))))))))))
"Hello, Jimmy Jnr speaking"
............pause........................
"Hello, is that Mr 041?" (Thick Indian accent)
"No, I'm his son"
"Can I speak to one of your parents please?"
"No, they both died in a car crash last week"
"Oh, sorry"
"Yes, it was bad. I'm orphaned"
"Well, you'll be needing a mobile phone now then, wont you....."

Re: Abbott/Liberal Govt Watch

He comes the karma bus ... he'll end up being the fall guy for all the broken promises now that he's done his job and got the coalition in with his wrecking ball.
Completely out of his depth now.
You may have a point.
I've been actively campaigning to some figures in the Liberal leadership about my view that we do have to break promises to improve the debt situation, but should be upfront about concluding that - and that MPs should show sincerity about it being a genuine crisis by taking a demonstrable hit themselves.

Only Malcolm Turnbull replied personally: "As you can imagine it isn’t possible for me to respond in a substantive manner prior the Budget which will be handed down on May 13. In the meantime I have taken your concerns on board and will share them with my colleagues and in particular with the Treasurer."

I guess that's the best I could expect at this time.

well we know who the real mover and shaker is behind the scenes for the LIberal Party, especially if Malcolm gets the leadership....

Re: 2014 Tribunal News & Discussions

My gut feel, having seen it live on the day and then again on replay, was that it was probably a 3-4 week suspension, then with a good record down to 2-3 weeks. But, the Tribunal must have seen it worst than that and offered the 5 weeks. Looks like the Magpies will appeal it...

I hope the Tribunal realises their mistake and ups it to 8

Re: Collingwood 2013

Absolute crap
WTF is going on with this full court press basketball game?
Collingwood fell for the idiot cows game plan of playing U9's football of 18 players on the ball playing keepies off
Only problem is they failed miserably and kept losing their feet and dropping the ball
At one stage Cloke was at CHB with no-one in front of him
Guys were looking up at HBF with no-one to kick to
How can a team play such good football one week and that $hit the next?
Keep serving up that crap Buckley and you can f*** off
I'm glad Tommy Hafey wasn't around to see such a disgraceful performance
Who TF would pay to see that!!! That is NOT football

“And if you hear someone bagging us, you know, stand up for South Australia,”

Over my life, I must have seen thousands of Mission Statements and Visions.
They are all useless unless there are goals and a practical and tangible plan to achieve them.
That's what sorts out the wheat from the chaff, the bull$hit from the meaningful.

Here's what the Premier said:
What I will not do today is describe the key outcomes we want to see over the next three years for each priority

That's to ensure they are totally unaccountable in 3 years time. They can say see what we achieved even though it might only be a drop in unemployment of 1%. I love the way he tried to take some credit for the achievements of Beach. I couldn't see them there, but I reckon they would have choked on their bread rolls

Koutsantonis at is absolute best this morning

Re the car parking tax:
"We went to the election telling people what we proposed so Parliament should allow it to go through"
Governments should be allowed to pass their budgets

Well Mumbles, only 35.8% of voters actually voted for you (and only 47% 2PP), and if you think Governments should be able to pass their budgets, then stop bitching about the Feds.

The Coalition went to the election (and got 45.55% of the primary vote with 53.49 2PP) with a clear policy of getting rid of the MRRT but your idiot mates still opposed it.
Now Australians won't be getting an increased SGL, purely and simply, because Labor wouldn't let the Repeal Bill pass, although the voters clearly gave them a mandate - something which you certainly did not get
