My collarbone surgery recovery has been set back 6 weeks, and has all but ruled me out for the whole season. It feels ok though, which is the most annoying thing.
Did you injure yourself or something?

If things go our way in the A grade this could be the third year in a row you miss a GF. From not being good enough to being too good and now being injured!

He's not "doing us a favour". He's getting paid to umpire. Exactly the same as the umps in the A's. So by your logic, no one can "sh=t pot" any umpire, ever.

Thats Boosh's opinion. He has lots of them, and most are pretty spot on.

Re: Restaurant & Pub Reviews

What's everyone's thoughts on gouchos? (Sp?)

Been there twice I think. Altho expensive as hell some bloody mean steaks

I went to Gauchos for EOFY dinner when I was doing a traineeship at a financial planning firm when I was 18. The directors (husband and wife outfit) thought they were pretty fancy (they lived at Greenacres and drove a Camry) and I hated them with all my heart.

Anywhooo...myself and the top accountant had a competition who could rack up the biggest individual bill for the dinner. I ordered a steak that was around $80 and smashed the $14 Coronas all night. I think it was pretty close in the end, but he would've won. Would've been about $250+ each.

The steak was awesome, except the only topping was huge chunks of garlic. No sauce, no nothing.

Caught the train home from city to Smithfield train station at midnight on a Friday night, alone and drunk. Never have I had a more carefree train ride ;)

Thats my story anyway.

Re: Things that give you the sh1ts

I think it would be about even all the way through history. The only difference now is thats its easier to interact with more people these days with social media. So instead of only talking to people you actually meet, you are talking to sometimes hundreds of people you dont know every week, and its much easier to tell someone what you actually think of them over the internet, with little to no consequences.

I know when me and spargo meet in real life, he's too scared to talk shit about me like he does on here, coz obviously I would drop him

The usual suspects, bacon, scrambled eggs, sausage, the best mushies ive ever had, tomato, and some inch and a half thick bread. With a hot mocha on the side. Couldn't ask for a better start to the day.

He definitely seeks out people with disabilities to show on tv. He probably does talk to intelligent people, but those interviews will never go to air because people won't laugh at people similar to themselves. People are ****, and are always up for laughing at people less fortunate than themselves.

Sams a rich, semi-intelligent guy. He openly thinks he is better than most people, so of course he's going to seek out people that make him look even better when he stands next to them, and mock them. He's a cockhead.

To me its pretty simple Don't like it don't watch it. Majority of the people on Street talk have a smile on their face, no signs of bullying to me.

This is pretty much my point. Plenty of other stupid shit out there too of you care to look.

Im not outraged. Its just my opinion that happens to be different to yours.

You never know how much shit these people cop afterwards from family, friends, and other people they come into contact with.

I dont watch it because I dont find it entertaining. The only part i like is Almost Footy Legends. I have a problem with that too, because the best display of talent never wins, its always the ump getting hit in the nuts by the footy.

The best footy show at the moment is Talking Footy (on free to air). I actually dont mind Darc in it.

Re: 2014 Rising Star - Lewis Taylor Brisbane Lions

Luke McDonald was robbed. Kept his spot all year and played well in a team that made finals, while the other 6 of the top 7 played for dud teams where of course they would stand out.

The other 6 might have played better with better players around them?

No disrespect to the kids, but I don't think this award means that much, certainly won't dictate the status or $ contracts they reach by the end of their careers.

What they "might" have done shouldn't come into it. It's what they did do.

As Im obviously not up to speed with the lingo, Im not exactly sure what he was saying. The part I did understand was "yeah, it looks like it's something on our end"...I'll take his word for it.

They've booked someone to come out to have a look anyway, but he's gonna try to solve it from his end first if he can. Then just cancel the call-out if its fixed in time.

Re: AFL Finals - week # 2.

If the umpires are being instructed to not give Lindsay Thomas frees because of who he is, its a ******* disgrace. Not dissimilar to match fixing.

They should be totally impartial, look at the guernsey, not the player, and pay ANY free they see. Who committed and whoever it was committed against should have absolutely no bearing on if its paid or not.

Fair enough he staged, but thats when the umps shouldnt have given him frees. They can't just try to even things up after the fact. Where's the integrity in that.

Telstras contractor came out today, was here for 20 mins, worked on something across the road, and our speed went from 800kbps to 7.6mbps. THEN he said to call Adam coz they have reduced our speed to keep us with at least some internet. After 15 mins on the phone we now have 13mbps.

Re: Crows 2014

I have no problem with what Roo said. If it's ok for the player to not committ (even if it's just verbally in the media) then why not the club.

Coz the player isnt out of contract til the end of NEXT season. Roos talking about trading him this year. Imagine if Danger said "im gonna leave after next season" He'd be dogging the club in their eyes. There'd be talk of not playing him coz he's not committed to the club, yadda yadda.

Re: Biggest Finals Upsets

Please Morell, move on mate, worry about your own club, every topic you bring up Clg, if you put as much effort as you do bagging us into your own club, I can actually see a future for Mitchell park, but the rumours I heard on the weekend it could be a real struggle for Mitchell park, which would be a shame because there are some good people there! Pull your head in and put in some work.

Morning Scottroo,

Any reason on why you have moved on your coach mate after getting you up a division last season and nearly doing the same this season?

Seems a bit weird to move on someone so passionate for your club.

Whats the official line?

This is a performance based industry, and after their end of season review, the senior players got together with their CEO and board members and only talked about their pub, and then somehow the coach got sacked.

If you kick 100, you're surely playing around about the right spot. Whats he want? To play back pocket? I heard that he wanted to play more midfield as a bit of an injection, especially when they were getting beat in the middle, but was kept cold all day in the goal square.

I kind of agree, you put your best players where the ball is IMO, especially if you need something out of the box and extra especially (?) if they're struggling up forward. If you're getting beat in the guts having Lance Franklin at Full Forward won't win you the game.

This is all hearsay however.

Kept cold in the goal square? When I saw him play, he sat around CHF 90% of the day.

Coach is there to coach, players there to do what the coach tells him to do. If you can't follow instructions, and wanna play your own game, don't play team sports.

Re: Biggest Finals Upsets

Managing individuals doesn't mean if a player thinks he's above the other 20 players in the team on the day, he can pick and choose what positions he plays.

Thats like me sitting at back pocket and watching our forwards struggling, then just moseying up and having a crack up forward coz i think i would do a better job.

That shouldn't happen. Thats why the coach has the magnet board, and not the players.

From the outside looking in id say the team/individuals were managed pretty well considering the key forward kicked 117 goals, and the team made the Prelim in its first year in a tougher division, 12 months after playing off in a GF (be it unsuccessful).

Seems like the coach knew what he was doing (from the outside looking in, which is what you're doing too)

Re: Biggest Finals Upsets

You say "after consultation with the leadership group and coaches"...

Surely if this situation actually did happen, and I dont know if it did, coz the only person saying it did is you, who heard it secondhand apparenly, the forward in question would have said at least something to the coach/leadership group, and they must have said NO. end of discussion. they didn't trust that with his fitness, etc that he would be able to turn the game by being in the middle.

Also, hopefully you coach and get some egotistical players in your team, coz once you let one dictate where they play and when, you will generate a fair bit of disharmony in the playing group unless they're all mates, and agree on which position every player should be playing at any given time. There's only so many midfield positions, and if you have 5 senior players wanting to fill the 3 on-ball position (ruck excluded obviously) what are you gonna do?

Let them all go in? Nope. Coz thats a free the other way.

Let them work it out on the field? Maybe, but what if they don't like each other that much and it causes tension and arguments, while the games in the balance and emotions and adrenaline are high? Could be trouble.

Let the coach make the decision, take the brunt of the heat from the players, and keep the actual playing group on the field as unified as possible? I would. Maybe you would try something different, and thats fine.

This is all hypothetical coz this may not have even happened.

Im done too, I have work to do.

Re: Annoying!!!

Whos marrying them?

Our celebrant went through what she has to read out that they can only marry a man and a woman. Its law that she has to read that part out, and there's no alternative but to get the celebrant to add "but this couple fully support gay marriage" or some shizz like that.

But i guess coz its not gonna be a binding wedding, it doesnt matter who does it.

Some celebrant is doing it... It's called a committment ceremony! My dog could do the ceremony for free and it would have the same meaning...

Apparently this couple has invited a good friend to their honeymoon... Which my mum and law has paid for... So she is pretty much getting a free ride...

Hang on.....a friend on the honeymoon? Is this friend female? Is this friend also a fan of the V?
