Re: Diary of some pregnant blokes

Well guys, little Aidan Thomas arrived into the world at 5:30pm yesterday evening, weighing in at a healthy 8lb 5oz.

Mrs Valleys delivered via C Section, and unfortunately was put to sleep during the birth due to issues with the spinal anaesthesia. She is recovering very well which is a great sign. Anyone that has seen their wives/partners go through labour would agree that it is incredibly tough to watch at times, especially not to mention what they are going through. I not ashamed to say i'm really proud of my wife's efforts. She did everything she could to deliver naturally and I was more emotional for her having to miss such a precious moment than I was for the birth of our child.

Bubs is feeding very well which is also a great sign.

FC- anyone that has seen me play football knows that is hardly a compliment

What a day and a half its been- but I am one very proud dad and husband :D :D

big congrats mate, i have that labour thing to look forward to in February 2015

Re: SAAFL Division 3 2014

Carey, how would you respond to being the most heinous club in the saafl, or is it uncontestable??

We were beaten by a better side on the day and we feel shit about it.

But you behave like ferrals that no one wants to play against because they fear cowardly violence or umpire because they fear abuse and grotesque bullshit. . <edited: Uncalled for>

bad kicking for goal cost you when it counted.

At least you can say that the club is now a Div 2 club compared to some others which are still stuck in div 6.

The way the juniors are coming through the club is helping to make them good senior players, I reckon there would have been a good handful of players that played in the GF that would have been in the under 16s team I coached in 2010.

Re: Ch9 AFL Division 4 - 2015

a very disappointing last qtr in the A grade today with one umpire deciding to ruin a massive game for both clubs ! now no 11 for us deserved his yellow card but to firstly not yellow card no 4 for the elbow to the head to begin with was a disgrace , then secondly to yellow card 2 more players for just questioning the decision without abuse or swear words used was an utter farcical and that umpire should be shamed of himself. which then left us with 17 players as we had an injured player ruined the game which would have been a grandstand finish!

The b grade for Kenilworth had a great win and are starting to play some good footy at the right end of the year beating a team above us for the first time this year looking fwd to the last 3 rounds and then finals for sure

No 4 is the coach, sounds like he is leading from the front with his elbows

Re: Adelaide Footy League Division 5 - 2017

Impressive recruiting by the Rams, but 100+ point losses in C6 to almost every team with higher or lower senior teams suggests there's not much going on development-wise no matter how much they posture.
I wouldn't use my C Grade to develop young players, more likely to deter them from the game.

A quick perusal of the SANFL juniors ladders would suggest the Rams are doing plenty development-wise too.

Presumably they'd be looking to field an U18 team in the next year or two

Yes I assume you are one these intelligent check your facts and support your statements with said facts type operators. ;)

I had mentioned it on here previously that Simon and his crew have done great things building a junior program and anyone who even had a remote inclination to have a little Bruce Duperouzel would see the big strides made.

The notion that our team of little Aussie battlers in C grade copping a hiding somehow parlays to a lack of development is absurd and the idea that you must develop your kids through a C grade is an antiquated notion.

I think you would have all juniors except 18s at the moment Growler which is good for the club.

It is good to see the Rams have a C grade side, does help when the juniors come to seniors anx you play them in the As kr Bs and lush the older players to Cs who still want a kick.

Hope you do get 18s up next year.

Grange vs Trinity is the Div 2 final
By the sounds of it the grange game went down to the wire as did last week.

TOS after being on the back foot in their bowling innings brought it back as chased 123 down with 4 overs to go.

Grange needed 5 runs to win with 5 balls remaining and read that Grange won when the ball hit the helmet for a 5 run penalty

SANFL Under 18s and Under 16s

By ZAC MILBANK

The 2023 Torrens University SANFL U18 and U16 seasons promise to be the most exciting yet.

Featuring father-son prospects and a host of talented players priming themselves for the 2023 AFL Draft, South Australia’s prestigious elite talent competitions will be the only SANFL matches in action during the AFL Gather Round from April 13 to 16.

SANFL Head of Talent Brenton Phillips said the spotlight would shine on the State’s best teenage talent in Round 4, with AFL Gather Round presenting an ideal opportunity to showcase the Torrens University SANFL U18s and U16s in front of all AFL clubs and talent scouts.

Phillips said maximising this unique and historic opportunity, having four of the eight U16 and U18 matches played in conjunction with AFL club visits at SANFL venues, was a high priority.

At Hisense Stadium, West Adelaide will host Central District in the Torrens University SANFL U18s and U16s ahead of Collingwood’s training session on the afternoon of Saturday April 15.

At Prospect Oval, North Adelaide will tackle Sturt in the Torrens University SANFL U18s and U16s following Richmond’s player appearance on the morning of Saturday April 15.

“We’re set for one of the most exciting seasons yet for the Torrens University SANFL U18s and U16s, with AFL Gather Round being a highlight,” Phillips said.

“The depth of talent across all eight SANFL Clubs is also testament to the experienced and passionate Centre of Excellence coaches and staff at clubs who help ensure our talent pathway is one of the best in Australia.’’

Phillips also acknowledged the ongoing support of naming rights partner Torrens University Australia which was enabling SANFL to expand its elite male competitions.

In 2022, SANFL extended its Torrens University SANFL U16s season to 18 rounds, providing talented male players from the age of 15 with the opportunity to train and play at their SANFL Club for the whole year.

Torrens University Australia Chief Commercial Officer Jerome Casteigt said Torrens University Australia was proud of the longstanding partnership with the SANFL.

“Just as we support the growth and success of our students, this partnership ensures continued growth and success of the SANFL elite male competitions and talent programs,” he said.

“We’re looking forward to seeing the latent of these up-and-coming players showcased throughout this year’s season.”

Round 1 Torrens University SANFL U18s

West v Eagles at Hisense Stadium – 4.30pm
