Re: Round 14 - LIVE SCORES

Eagles getting an absolute free ride from the umps again! It's becoming a joke. Every week.
Its been happening since their inception, the SANFLs darling

You're right. Clearly there is a conspiracy plot going on.

I can't believe you've cracked it.
Mock all you like, I've never come across a team more looked after in the 35 years I've followed the SANFL than the hybrids. It's not just the supporters of NUMEROUS other teams either, I could name players I've spoken to from 4 clubs who feel the same way.
Doesn't matter if you win or lose by 10 goals against them, they invariably get a dream run.

Re: Round 18 - live scores, discussion & confabbing.

More on form - the best form out of any of the teams 5th down. You should only drop 1 more game for the year against Sydney.

Crows have collingwood and north away but on current form I would expect us to win both of those games. We also have games against Richmond Brisbane and west coast (home) so it's not a bad run home.

Collingwood have crows power west coast away Brisbane gws and hawthorn. I can only see them winning 2 of those.

Suns have Brisbane st Kilda Carlton power essendon and west coast.

They run looks much harder than it did a week ago. With their percentage they will miss out imo

How you say that with any confidence is a mystery. All 3 teams have had serious ups and downs this year.

I'd say the Collingwood one is 50/50 with Collingwood needing to get back as winners and the 'Roos game in their favour under the roof.
No roof in Tassie.

Ten inductees every year is too many - five would be ample.
Three years after finishing playing to be eligible also isn't long enough - somewhere around six or seven years would be better.

Is volunteering dead?

I think the problem would be most households need both parents to work to make ends meet, so there's less mums with time to volunteer like the good old days.
I miss the good ol' days...

Jim, you blokes got a dream ride today.
Not so much what was paid but what was let go when paid earlier.
In the end the Eagles were nearly six goals up in the third qtr. & cost themselves more than the one sided umpiring.

Re: Glenelg 2014

The reason you sponsor is to normally get something in return, not just the warm and fuzzy feeling of giving money away for nothing. End result is one less sponsor for next season. If you sponsor I hope you have a warm fuzzy feeling.
Numerous people sponsor the club because they love the club - not to make coin.
They may also be in a position to give back to a club that has given them so much.

Re: I need to know....

We were behind the northern goals at The Bay one Saturday afternoon in the '80s when a goal was kicked. The usual scrimmage & "stacks on" broke out amongst the large group of 12-13 year olds boys trying to get the match day footy & be the one who kicked it back over the fence. My mate somehow got it, kicked his own footy back & then legged it with the game ball out the gates & up Rugless Tce not to be seen again until school the following week.
We'd thought he'd got away with it until he told us at school on Monday that he forgot the footy he kicked back which was his, actually had his name & address on it. A GFC official went around to his house on Sunday morning and returned his ball & took the match ball back. He copped a fair bit of shit for that.

Re: Retirements - 2014

Luke Ball....

Never rated this bloke.
Coz he was taken in the same draft as Judd and Hodge he is mentioned in the same breathe..........Please!!
A good average player at best.
Please tell me you're taking the p1ss. Not his fault he was in the same draft as Hodge & Judd. No one ever called him a superstar, but I reckon if you ask the Saints & then Pies how they rate him, I dare say words like totally committed, never pulled out of a contest, made everyone around him better, fantastic club man, respected by the opposition - these blokes are diamonds at a footy club.
"good average player" is an insult and plain wrong.

But there is every chance it will be at the scg in a fortnight becaus NRL get preference

Re: Things that give you the sh1ts

The f**king **** at work that consistently leaves burnt cheese/bread on the toasted sandwich press and doesn't clean it off. I use the sandwich press in my lunchroom quite a bit, at least twice a week and I always find burnt bread on it and this is the final straw. I put up an abusive note so I hope the culprit takes note. I'm always kinda late into the lunchroom and I'm pretty certain I know who the culprit is as they seem to get into the lunchroom a little earlier than everyone else, but I can't prove it's them yet. I and others always clean it with a wet paper towel after use and it does the job but d!ckhead who has no respect for his fellow workers decides he doesn't have to clean up his mess. In my note I wrote your mum/missus isn't here to clean up your mess so do it yourself, so I hope they take note.

Re: AFL Finals - week # 3.

I just confused why he did it. There was no need for it.

I think you will find there would be many players in the AFL that would like to take Selwood head off
He gets booed every week.
Brereton & Carey got booed every week because they were so good. There's no doubting that Selwood's a good player but that's not why he gets booed. It's because he plays for frees, gets looked after, sooks and now you can add dobbing to that list.

My mail suggests Clarkson will coach the crows with an announcement late Wednesday afternoon!!!

Heard this today too

Also Jarrod Lyons in a trade for Levi Greenwood
Sounds fair, Greenwood had a breakout year for a club that played in a prelim who look to be on the up, the other couldn't get a game with a mob who finished in the bottom 8, don't have a coach & is on the nose in the industry.
I reckon North will jump at this deal whilst throwing in Goldstein as a sweetener...
