Re: Sydney Swans 2014

Ted Richards has re signed for another year...

where is this mass exodus the media are predicting?????

its not these old workhorses you have to worry about, richards and mcveigh were never leaving ever, but its your younger up and coming guys that you have to worry about. and armstrong lamb, mumford, white, everitt were all decent depth players (with the exception of mumford, he was a first grader) that you wont have if/when injuries strike this year.

cant deny that depth has been hurt by buddy coming up to sydney, espsecially in your rucks. with pyke and mummy there it was one of the better ruck divisions in the league, maybe only the clubs out west had better ones. but now it pyke goes down you will be in a world of pain.

still not doom and gloom as some people are predicting, and i still think you will finish top 4 without too much worries, though a spate of injures wont be handled as well as it has been in the past.

Armstrong really??

Re: BL&G Football League

I am amazed the Herald let Media Mike write the crap he does each week. His top 20 again show his absolute biais towards Angaston with 3 Ango players in the top 20. He then has Angaston finishing 5th on this years ladder when they have finished bottom the last 2 years. Hell Days would not even have them that high in 2014. I follow Tanunda and to have Lachie Agars in the best 20 in the association in front of Stanley from Centrals and about 50 others is just embarassing and shows the writer has no football knowledge .Comparing the liftout from the Bunyip and the Herald it would be embarassing for the Herald as the Bunyip's lift out is fantastic and a great endorsment of the BLG. Well done Sam and all those at the Bunyip for a great production on local sport.

Well passed his use by date. Sam, Dogwatcher and co at the Bunyip have done a brilliant job again, but that is no real surprise

Re: Round 11 Chat

nope, you need force too. its pretty clear cut what the MRP assess on.

of course if the contact was forceful he would have gone for weeks.

Goodes hit Selwood hard, a lot harder than Steele did so your argument is flawed.

Did you see Selwoods face after the contact, he wasnt too happy or moving to well for a while.
If it wasnt Goodes he would have been in that persons face big time.

how can you say he hit selwood harder than sidey did, the dude sidey hit was subbed out with concussion!

what the bet if it had happened to sloane or dangerfield, bennymacca would be asking for the death penalty ;-)

Re: Things that give you the sh1ts

ah, chopping wood. memories from my childhood that i hate haha.

the old man never paid for wood ever, relied on getting it from farmer mates whose tree had fallen down, etc etc.

so random early sunday mornings, with no warning, me and my brother would be hauled out of bed and it would be a full day of holding logs whilst dad cut them into trailer sized bits with the chainsaw, then home to cut them smaller and stack them in the wood sheds.

worst was when we were 16-20 or so when still at home, and dad would know were were hung over and yet still we had to go and do it. and because he knew we would both leave home some time soon, he stockpiled about 7 years worth of wood before we left.

wonder how 23 year old little bro is going still at home haha.

The old Silverfox, very clever individual

Re: West Coast Eagles 2014

Living here in Perth both Carl Langdon and Brad Hardie are 2 of the best non parochial sports presenters I have heard;

*Wellingham is not the right fit and doesn't apply himself as he should off the field. Could seriously be shown the door.
*Masten can't hit the side of a barn by foot. Will be trade bait.
* Nic Nat could end up being CHF full time after this year. I can't beleive his latest contract btw.
*Will be big players in coming years on the free agency market.

he cant mark the ball though. will be a great tap ruckman when given full time role next year (if fit)

Kennedy and Darling do not need big Nic Nat up their getting in their way. He will ruck, reckon they would prefer to use Lycett up forward at least he can mark.

6 of them have played 16 games A grade between them. 10 of these games belong to 2 of them. 6 between the other 4. No team sacking mate!

It's a long way back to him playing cricket again, if at all.

Re: R.I.P. Phillip Hughes

Terrible day for Australia and world sport. Horrible sickening feeling and I don't know if there has been a worse day in Australian sport.
This will change forever the way we play cricket. I also think in memory of such a tragic event this bloke should never be forgotten @ any stage on the ultimate stage. I would personally like to see the the Baggy Green re-named the Phil Hughes in memory of its importance to Australian Cricket.....

I don't normally get emotional over celebrities, sports stars or people I don't know personally. But this made my physically sick today, can't believe he has died playing a sport that he and a lot of us love.
