Re: 2023 Silly Season

Done deal for Dylan Stephens.

Sydney get North’s future special assistance pick + pick 44 this year.

North get Dylan Stephens + pick 25.

Is that the future special assistance pick that was given with the caveat that it would be reviewed?!

Kinda hard to review it if you allow someone to trade it now.

Re: 2023 Silly Season

WCE with picks 1 & 22 (and then 36), you would think they might like to get a better hand than that, North have the picks, make sense from WCE's position to do a deal, esp when the Roos might be eyeing off the WA lad and the talk is that this draft is not deep Then make an offer worth while and stop dicking around with 15, 18 and 21.

Yes we would like more picks especially inside the top 10. That's why the price is 2, 3 and 15.

We are happy to take Pick 1 to thr draft. If you want puck 1, then get serious. Otherwise don't worry about it and concrete on something else.

It doesn't matter what the Vic media commentary is, we don't care how much of a hand out or leg up the AFL is trying to give you.

You want pick 1, then you know what it will take.
Is that like banging two 3’s and a 4 over the weekend and claiming you banged a 10?

It counts if its in one transaction.

Re: Things that you rate!

A pepper steak pie from Tumby Bay Bakery.
Stopped in at Kimba back in 2022 at the Big Galah Cafe and they get them in from Tumby. I said to the missus that it was the best pie I’ve ever had. Even eclipsing the one I had at Stone Hut circa 2006. She scoffed at me. On the weekend we headed over to Streaky Bay & stopped at Kimba again for lunch. Still selling Tumby Bay pies - and again, the best pie I’ve ever had.

Re: 2023 Silly Season

Ginnivan to Adelaide for the McAdam future second round pick

Surely not

Given Adelaide have Rachele and Rankine would they need another small forward / potential midfielder type. Reckon they would have more pressing areas to distribute salary cap space.

Would be interesting to know what wage demands Ginnivan has. Has had the well document behavioral issues but has the potential to be a B+ / A Grader in the future. The big plus is his marketability, get Ginnivan and you pretty much capture every 12-15 year old girl in the country, .

His social media reach is crazy. 122k followers on instagram, compared to say Tex Walker 119k, Josh Rachele 34k as examples.

Are we trading based on Insta followers now? Man I’m old…

Re: AFLW 2023

Even though she has shown she is a superstar player I guess AFLW came a decade too late to show her true ability. A younger Phillips would have been unstoppable.

Will make a great coach when she is ready.

She is by far the best player to have played AFLW.
No one even comes close to her.
I agree, superstar

At U14 level she was rated the best talent in junior football in SA.

She was good, but I can assure you she wasn't rated the best junior talent in SA at 14.

Re: The never ending No AFL in the SANFL whinge thread

Is it AFL money or footy money you know footy as sport that existed wayyyyy before the AFL existed and built on by SANFL and the governors of footy in this state

AS Dedja pointed out the money generated by SMA due to footy in this state is backed by the government

Port and Adelaide Footy club clubs could be wiped out tomorrow (wont happen) by the AFL if they wanted to under their licencing structure and two new AFL franchises created and played at Adelaide oval

the $$$ would still come in

its footy money not Port and Crows money

I used to go to Port games as a neutral thanks to free tickets from the SANFL.

I brought beers and chips to support footy in this state not Port.

So I want the profit from my $$$ going back to the SANFL thanks.

Correct - $88 million back to the SANFL Clubs via the stadium hosting games, not exclusively by the Crows or Power.

If there was a Gold Coast Suns fan on here they could also legitimately have claimed to contribute to the funds back to the SANFL Clubs.

Re: TDK's International Test Cricket Update's

Ben Duckett:

Duckett also felt without England’s ‘Bazball’ tactics under Test coach Brendon McCullum, Jaiswal — and other players across the world — might not have had the confidence to play in such a manner.

“When you see players from the opposition playing like that, it almost feels like we should take some credit that they’re playing differently than how other people play Test cricket,” Duckett said

He missed the goals by about 30 metres with one shot last night. Pretty sure the goals were his target.

Thats intelligent, finished with 3.0, if you’re gonna miss, miss by a mile.

3 goals, 12 score involvements the most on the ground.

According the AFL website stats and their elite, above average etc rating last year he was:

-elite for inside 50’s
-elite for effective kicks
-elite for effective disposals
-elite for goal assists
-elite for score involvements
-elite for pressure acts
-elite for metres gained

If there is anything that is overdone in the game it’s the use of the word ‘elite’

We can wax lyrical about the good old days of footy as much as we like, it isn’t going back to that and will continue to evolve.

The new generation of fans doesn’t have the old version to reflect upon and so they love the version that they see.
