Re: SAAFL Division 1 2014

Wow 15 games. I was watching the game as a Rocs supporter and I didn't see anything that deserved anything near 15 games. In my 20 years of playing, coaching and watching amateurs I have seen all sorts of crap that deserved big number games and i saw nothing that resembled that in the GF. I must have missed some bad stuff but I feel for Callum. Seems like a harsh penalty from what I saw and compared to what I have seen in the past.

Re: SAAFL Division 1 2014

I sat behind him for the 2nd and 4th and he didn't seem that dirty to me. The video may tell a different tale. His prime objective was footy from my view point. He looks like a monster but in my opinion didn't behave like one. If thats the precedent set for the type of game that gets you deregistered we are going to see many players careers end in 2014.

Re: Things that give you the sh1ts

We just had 1 minutes silence at work- fair enough in a call centre environment there will be the odd person on a call when the clock ticks over to 11- but the amount of people that weren't on calls just chatting away......FFS its 1 ******* minute!

Punch them in the f,n head mate. That's unacceptable. You make a politically incorrect remark and you get the sack. You ask for 1 minute of the year to pay respect for the sacrifices made possibly including in many cases people's direct family and its optional.
Fu@k that. Give me their names and addresses mate, ill teach them to respect.

This gives me the shits more than anything else. I would have lost my job as I would have exploded. Glad I took the day off today.

Re: Pro Wrestling Talk

Don't know how you can't appreciate his work. I understand you don't like the bloke, but that doesn't mean his work isn't entertaining. His work during the mid 2000's was good and hence he got rewarded with a few main event opportunities. Not one of the greatest of all time, but it will definitely be my honour and privilege to see him in action in a couple weeks.[/quote]

Did you get ringside tickets as they include a meet and greet with him. This was previously about an hour long and included a questions from the crowd, photos and discussion time in previous shows with international stars.

Re: Sheffield Shield SA v WA - Nov 13-16

If its not free being a Saturday you should be able to get a nearby park for free.

Haven't watched a ton of Cleary and wouldn't mind having a good look. Also keen to see Botha chuck a couple down.

If we have a special day we will be top of the table for the first time in a long long time.

Re: Gaelic Football in South Australia

Oh and congrats to Brad Ditmar on his 50th game. Is it any wonder he has just been signed by a Div 1 club. Talk about putting the team on your back :)

Yea that guy is a gun, 50 games is a reasonable effort in Gaelic footy with few games each season (in comparison to footy). I think you'll find that he was at a D1 club this year though too WW :)

Yeah that's right he is a man of unlimited talents Div 1 footballer, Star Gaelic footballer, radio mega star, professional commentator, lawyer and lawn bowls specialist. No wonder Port are on the way up. ;)

Re: SAAFL Division 8 2014

I am surprised that Flinders Park would play in D8 considering they made the finals in D7, and their D's made the GF last year...

Yep that's odd. Only 9 teams in Div 6 as well not 9 teams in Div 8 which is good for Div 8 I guess.

Will be interesting to see which club wins the sandbagger of the year award in this Div.

Re: SAAFL Division 8 2014

I have heard a strong rumour that Pnu have recruited at least 7 Mitchell Park players. Could be closer to 10 by Christmas. First training was supposed to be tonight for the c & d grade at Pnu. I couldn't make it but will find out tomorrow if any showed up.

That seems unusal considering the distance between the clubs.

1. Martin Hamilton Smith CAN recruit.
2. MHS will give away free bins to lure footballers
3. Several Mitchell Park plays already work for MHS
4. MHS is a prick of a man to work for when you don't play footy for his team. I believe he even made one close friend of a poster cry whilst leaving his phone on speaker.
5. MHS is good at luring groups of 2s,3s and 4s as they are more likely to stick it out.
6. MHS doesn't like to see footballers "Wasteaway" in the lower divisions :)

The above reasons and the fact that PNU will need an extra 30-40 on their registered list I'm not surprised to read this.

Re: Ashes 2nd Test Adelaide Discussion

Finally had my first taste of cricket at the new Adelaide Oval and what a ground and what a day.

The 5 things that stood out to me...
1. Pup is the best batter in the world.
2. Adelaide Oval when completed will be the finest cricket ground in the world.
3. Next years Showdowns are going to be phenomenal
4. $8.50 Super dry tastes better at the cricket than the free ones in my fridge at home.
5. I truly believe we will win back the Ashes

Lyon takes a ripper catch and doesn't bat an eyelid.

If Swan took that catch he would have danced around like the muppet he is.

It's far from over this match and the series but its hard to see England retaining the urn from here.

If we can have them 3fa at lunch and 5fa at tea I can't see the Pommy bastards saving it. Then heading to Perth with the short turn around the Ashes might be ours before Xmas. What a stocking stuffer that would be :D

Re: Ashes 3rd Test Perth Discussion

Am I the only one that is worried that England might actually turn the blow torch on Australia in Perth.

Anderson and Broad are still capable of devastating spells and there seems a worrying air of certainty that we will get the job done in Perth.

I hope my fear and paranoia are so sooo wrong but I think this Test will be a lot closer than the first two.

Re: David Hookes ... 10 years on

As i've said two my mates with the recent spate of incidents... if it wasn't for the buffoon bouncer who hit Hookes (whether guilty or not), if he hadn't hit Hookes, he'd still be alive today.

The courts need to throw the book at these idiots.

Got king hit myself this year and i will be going to court I have been told aprox. 2 years after the incident. I thought so much about Hookesy in the days following the incident as my head hit the pavement and I lost a lot of blood. I intend on doing whatever I can to ensure perpetrators of violent and unprovoked attacks are deterred in the future. The are the scum of the earth and Deserve incarceration.

didnt rosewater deck the cards last year with quality players only to go out in straight sets....guess money can only buy so much and yet it cant stop choking :)
What does "deck the cards" even mean?
and it wasn't straight sets...

rosewater had a 30 thousand football budget last year so i guess im saying out of that 30k money was paid to some quality players who in return failed to fire at finals time and no im not saying you used all 30k on players that was the total budget

What's Poorakas budget been and how would you rate their last two years?

50 wickets in 6 tests, some good runs at a decent average for a number. 8 and sublime fielding including some very good catches and a run out. I'd go as far as to say Mitch is in the hottest form in a six test period of anyone I have seen in my 39 yrs.

Certainly the catalyst for 6-0 and shifting the 4th or 5th best test team right back up to contending for top spot.

Network launch tonight. D-day to save Wrestlemania.

He's back Brother!!! The man that made wrestling. First few minutes of Raw was electric.
it's amazing what charisma and the look can do. HH was/is a very average wrestler. To do what he's done is an incredible effort on little wrestling talent

Watch his work in Japan and tell me he was average. He wrestled a very bland 80s style in the USA because it worked and thats what Vince wanted but he would go work in Japan with Inoki and tear the house down.

Mrs Wristy bought me the 9 hour ultimate unseen Hogan DVD and I watched him work with Bob Baclund for 30 minutes in a scientific match as a 28 year old. You need to see it to believe it.

Hogan just had arguably the greatest mind the business has ever seen and made the most money. The fact that he did it with increasingly limited out put as time went on tells you just how good he is.

He is the greatest and I won't hear a bad word about him ;) :)

Was he a top bloke in person???

Yeah he was great. Very humble and very helpful. Had a very relaxed demeanour and the other AFL 9s super stars seemed to looked up to him and be genuinely happy to work with him. It would be hard not to like him. Of all of them though including my beloved Port lads I found the most likeable to be Daisy Thomas. Funny guy and great with the kids.

Works strict social media policy prevents me from writing anything negative about any of the AFL players we employed but out of the 12-15 big names the one that I lets say didn't fall into the Goodesy/Daisy bracket was Jack Riewoldt. Having said that he was not bad and did all things asked and required but probably not with the same enthusiasm and manner as the aforementioned champions.

Re: Test Squad for South African Tour - predictions & discus

It will be interesting reading at the end of this series when they release the ICC world rankings but this series should result in two obvious changes for me...,
Vernon is not the second best bowler in the world and should slip to at least 4th. Jono and Harris should move to 2nd and third respectively and should be knocking on the door of top spot.
Davey will enter the top 10 for the first time. I don't think anyone could argue that Smith stays ahead of him.

Still plenty of cricket left in this test but Australia certainly look the goods.
