Re: Things that give you the sh1ts

I have a couple of things that give me the shits.

1. People who whinge (especially on social media) about how they're having problems and hard times, yet do nothing to try to better their situation.

2. My sister is taking advantage of my mum at the moment. My sister and her on again-off again-rinse & repeat husband keep busting up, so my sister and her three kids are living with my mum in her three bedroom house. My sister seemingly uses this to her advantage, and constantly goes out with her friends all night, leaving my mum, who works night shifts Mon-Fri mornings, to babysit the kids.

My mum knows my sister is taking her for a ride, yet she does nothing about it. Her rationale is that my sister needs to 'get her mind off things'. Shouldn't my sister be focusing on her three kids? It's not like she has a job...

I brought this subject up with my mum a few days ago, and was basically told to can it. I just don't want my mum to put up with it, yet she seems to suffer in silence.

Re: Things that you rate!

Who the hell is this Caitlin chick anyway ? I've actually never heard of her.

Does this mean all she'll ever be known for is having a crack at Bindi.

In summary, she was on Neighbours years ago, and has really done **** all since. She recently decided to go topless on Instagram or Twitter as part of a protest against censorship or something (who actually knows?).

I've never liked Bindi until know. As a kid, her whole schtick looks really contrived, despite all the good things her family was doing for wildlife.

Top marks for coming out and saying that kids should act and dress like kids. There's not enough of that these days.

Re: Things that make you laugh

LOL, It was just a misunderstanding ... mate, just admit you cocked up.

A COMMONWEALTH Games weightlifter from Papua New Guinea has been committed to stand trial over an alleged sexual assault on another man, Robert Craddock writes.

Toua Udia, 22, is alleged to have touched the man in a Tesco toilets less than a kilometre from the athletes village.

He was arrested and charged last Tuesday and has pleased not guilty, claiming it was “a misunderstanding”.

Udia was released on bail after surrendering his passport and was given permission to attend the opening ceremony.

He competed in the 77kg weightlifting category on Sunday, finishing ninth.

Was he competing in the Clean & Jerk?

Re: Diary of some pregnant blokes

Speaking of baby's and please be honest does anyone have an issue with baby's at the football?

On the weekend this women (although that's subject to proof) in the Collingwood crowd carried on cause we had our 3+1/2 week daughter there saying it was no place for a baby.

Well she's still breast feeding, she had a single on then a size 00 jump suit on with a size 1 rabbit suit over the top of that with a hood on and over the hood ear muffs with 2 Blankets. She slept the whole time and didn't make a noise after a heap of beers if I heard her say it well it would've ended a lot different hence my mrs not telling me till the next day.

For the record my daughter has now been to 3 games nearly averaging one a week for her life time lol ;)

Port v Melb, Cats v Roos and Port v Collingwood

Does anyone think the Neanderthal is right? I dont see an issue with it but I may be wrong wouldn't be the first time defiantly won't be the last.

I think the only people qualified to make that call are the parents. If you and the missus think your little one will cope at the footy, then you shouldn't feel bad about bringing her. **** anyone who tries to tell you otherwise.

By the way, it was nice meeting little Phoebe at the game yesterday. The three of you look really happy.

Re: Things that you rate!

I rate my wife.

I'm not usually one for sharing my sob stories, but here goes.

Recently, my depression has started to get the better of me and this, combined with strong back pain, is causing me to have daily anxiety attacks.

Most people would tell me to just get over it.

Not her.

Today, she showed the patience of a saint, She woke up, helped me get my breathing on track, rubbed my back and shoulders, and talked me through it. She then suggested I return to see my counselor, and I agreed.

For me, my depression and anxiety are manageable 95% of the time. It's times like this that I appreciate my wife even more.

8) yeah that's not me :D

In all seriousness though, good luck mate, as someone whose dealt with the same for most my adult life, it's a real prick of a thing but I've always felt it comes in waves and tomorrow may not be as bad as today. You're very fortunate to have a loving and supporting partner who can help you through the bad times.

It's sad but I think mental health is becoming more of a problem these days for people, I put it down to the pressures placed on us through either work, family, the government (taxes, interest rates etc) or even placed on by ourselves (high standards/expectations)

Cheers lads.

PG, I know what you mean. I've lived with this now for about 20 years, and it does come in waves. I know I might never be completely rid of depression and anxiety, but I'm working on getting it back to the stage where I can function like a normal person.

I feel there's still a huge stigma attached to the mental illness as a whole, despite celebrities and famous athletes being affected. I don't know about you, PG, but most people wouldn't have the slightest idea about my condition. Is it because (as blokes), we find ourselves being judged by our family, friends and peers as being lesser people for it?

There have been countless times over the past two decades where people have dismissed, ignored, or ridiculed me for having issues, so I'm now at the stage where I'm no longer ashamed about having depression and anxiety. I'm used to it, and although at times I don't deal with it as well as I should, I'm not ready to throw in the towel today. However, there have been times where I've wanted or tried...

Although it's not the cause of it (but it definitely contributes to it), my job is not making my life easier. When I started my job four months ago, I thought it was going to be a huge opportunity for me to expand myself. Instead, I'm getting **** all hours, and I've had terrible back pains for the last two months. However, I can't afford to quit my job. It's quite the catch-22.

I have thought about getting into a couple of short TAFE courses next year, once I can afford to buy myself a camera, in the hope that I can either do it more as a hobby, or make something out of it.

Sorry for the long-winded post, but I have a hard time explaining myself most of the time.

I really do appreciate everyone's concern for me, it honestly means a lot.

Cheers, ladies and gents.

Re: Faith No More to release first album in 18 years this Ap

Influential alterna-metal iconoclasts Faith No More are set to release their seventh album — their first in 18 years — in April of 2015, bassist Bill Gould tells Rolling Stone. The record will be a totally independent product — produced by Gould, recorded in their Oakland rehearsal space and released on their own imprint, Reclamation Records (which will be distributed by frontman Mike Patton's long-running label, Ipecac Recordings).
