Unfortunately, cos I'm in. I'll try again to get a higher ranked player in.

Surely you were close enough to the ranking cut off and besides I think we would all agree you deserve some reward for all the time you commit to organizing the Hogg leagues for us.

Re: Phil Walsh murdered

I think today is way too early to even think about playing...ideally a decision should be made tomorrow when 24 hours have passed and everyone has some clearer heads, but I suspect they need to make a call either way today.

If it happened a couple of days ago I think playing would have been a good tribute, but just over 48 hours is to close and raw IMO

Re: Things that you rate!

I'm nearly 8 months sober and the other half is 6 months sober. We wouldn't be together if we were still drinking. Hell, one of us might not even be alive. I don't have a problem with other people drinking (although when I say I don't drink, people tend to give me a wide berth like I'm the alcohol police, which s***s me no end) but it's not for me, not any more. I do miss having the odd glass of red with the girls, but it doesn't come close to what I'd miss if alcohol still played a role in our family.

Re: Restaurant & Pub Reviews

Went to an old favourite today that I used to go to with the old man once a month ; The Laksa House

Located in Chinatown, second shop on the right of the food court as you enter off the main drag. Mixed combo Laksa $10.30

An enormous taste sensation and always struggle to get through it. A spicy rich blend littered with prawns, chicken, tofu, shrimp, noodles, sprouts, cucumber, chilli and more. It's a genuine battle to get through. You leave very full and satisfied. You will "rush the bowl" later that day as the boys at the footy club experienced tonight.

I have taken 5 or 6 girlfriends their over the years as it's a barometer for what kind of nut case I was dating at the time. If you can't handle a man getting the food sweats with the heat of the chilli, a bit of splash factor and some yellow smudge on the face while he powers through using fork, spoon, chopsticks and the old bowl to mouth liquid indulgence then you're probably not worth the effort in my book :) . It's a food experience and if you can't handle the spice I don't want to know you either.

9/10. Highly recommend this little beauty. You will be eating 5 mins after ordering and it takes about 20 minutes to work through. Slight anal burn upon exit will occur in most cases.

Re: Restaurant & Pub Reviews

Stuff this cheap shit here is a higher class establishment

Coal Cellar & Gril - Victoria Square, Ground Floor Hilton Hotel.

Well a lump of fossilised carbon is not what you get served up here....specailising in South Australian produce and cooked like a backyard BBQ with charcoal grills and rotisseries among the cooking methods . As you would expect this is not your Tuesday night CBF meal but somewhere to take the missus to get out of the doghouse or show her that you are actually are a caring considerate bastard!

Staff are not over the top with their service and will give you plenty of time to peruse the menu over a glass of water after ordering your first round of drinks. Our group of 3 didn't bother with entrees and got straight down to business with ordering mains. An order of of Whole Baby Barramundi, and an Angus Pure Grass Fed Tomahawk Steak for 2 were selected. Whilst waiting for the mains to come out the old man and myself (the steak eaters) went on a bit of a World Brewery tour with our drinks with Boags Premium, Heineken, Hoegaarden Wheat and the safe Hahn Super Dry consumed before and during the meal. When the food arrives it is actually true to description, My mother's Barra was actually whole....head, eyes and fins  my immediate comment was to make sure was it scaled [emoji38] . The Tomahawk landed on the table on a chopping block about 800mm long and looked like the chef was hacking up a dinasour out the back the rib bone left on it would have took up 70% of the board. Couldn't find a fault with the steak as I carved off chunks and onto a smaller plate with our sides of creamy mashed potato and garden salad. Contrary to my comment about checking for scales on the Barra the bone structure of the animal just fell out of the flesh and didn't cause any issues.

Mains were cleared and the desert menu arrived, after demolishing a large portion of a cow it was a toss up if even to get desert at all. It was decided that a bowl of Strawberries and Cream designed for 2 would be shared between the 3 of us. Staff were all to happy to oblige with an extra set of cutlery. Just as well as it was a good practice run for December 25 with the amount of food consumed.

All up for 3 people including drinks only $260 damage to the Mastercard. 8/10 for a fine dining experience

What is sad is the fact that this story has dominated various forms of media, less than a day after a bloke drove he and his 2 kids off a cliff, and another had his life support turned off as a result of a cowardly punch.

Not to say that what Gayle did was appropriate (not sexist though), but surely this is prime time to again highlight our nations issues surrounding alcohol fuelled violence and depression..

Re: 2015/16 NBL Season

This is music to the ears of us 36ers fans.

‘‘To be honest, he’s the best coach I ever had in my career and you can quote me on that,’’ Randle told the nbl.com podcast.

‘‘Just being an X’s and O’s coach doesn’t make you the best coach ever.

‘‘I think if you can have that great relationship with your players and have an open door policy with your players, I think that’s more important than X’s and O’s.

‘‘If you can get the best out of them and make them understand that this is a game and you just need to go out there and play free.’’

“I’m not too fond of Europe,” he said.

“I don’t feel they have the type of coaching skills Joey Wright has. They change your game a little bit.

“I’ve played overseas and I wasn’t allowed to do the things I’m allowed to here.

“Coach Joey is a great coach and he knows how to get the best out of his players.”

Randle is leading the NBL in scoring at 24.6 points per game, and is second in assists.

Re: Things that give you the sh1ts

One good thing about T20 is that it makes the one day 50 over stuff look a bit more like the real thing...
scoring 340 from 50 overs isnt that much different...
True. I said a "bit more".

So higher scores from less innings is a bad thing?
I find the bowling and fielding strategy, and sustained concentration required, more interesting than some swipe merchant lashing out at nearly every ball as if it is a baseball match.

Re: I need to know....

Why does Ouzo change its structure and texture when you put it into the Fridge?
What do the "sheets" it producers consist of?

From some other forum :

I'm pretty sure what you're seeing is potassium bitartrate. It is common in wines that haven't been cold stabilized, which just means chilled until the crystals fall out. As ouzo is pretty much just distilled flavored wine, I'm guessing that the excess tartaric acid survives the distillation process, and then falls out at near freezing temperatures.

If it is potassium bitartrate, it is absolutely nothing to be concerned about.

Re: NFL Season 2015/16

HH3 how are you going with the State training Monday's and Wednesday's?

Alaska

I'm doing my best.

There's about 8-10 DB's out there, including me. I don't know how many they're gonna keep on the roster. I'd guess 4 corners and 4 safeties, but you never know.

The intensity is crazy, especially compared to club training. Monday I was on the cusp of not being able to go anymore for most of the night, but I got through it.

Learning from different coaches is good too. One of the Razorback guys is my positional coach, and the DC is my club coach, so I get a new guy and someone I'm very familiar with.

My movement and positioning has improved heaps just from the last two sessions (about 5 hours total).

I think I'll be very lucky to make the side at this point, but I'll keep giving it my best and see how I go. If I get cut, I'll keep training with them, and keep getting better for next season.

Re: HFL Division 1 (Central)

Now look I know I may be considered somewhat of a dinosaur in football terms having been out of the game in a playing capacity for a few decades now but ................ all this talk online, in the media and in the local Courier newspaper has goaded me to make my first post on this forum.

Nobody admits to liking the umpires, we all know this, and this is exacerbated by some pitiful grandstanding performances in the AFL most weekends which arcs us all up. But from where I sit in the comfort of my trusty stead at the footy in the hills most weekends, we are pretty blessed with, generally speaking, an honest bunch of hardworking officials who on most occasions go above and beyond their duties every Saturday during the season. The game is umpired like the SANFL used to be before this years weird rule changes. I personally know some of these blokes and they really do love their job. Yes it is a paid gig but I don’t think many of us would run around for about 6 - 8km’s in a morning game and then another 12 – 14km’s for an A grade game for the dollars on offer.

To read that an experienced A Grade coach had tee’d off at young ex SANFL umpire with a tirade of expletives during a half time break where the umpire apparently HAD to traverse this area to use the toilets, was very disappointing indeed. But to then have an article published in the Courier almost blaming the young umpire for the outburst is totally out of line. Basically inferring the umpires performance had goaded the coach to abuse him? I think the old Fossil who wrote that letter to the sports editor may still be stuck back 56 years ago if he thinks this kind of behaviour is OK in 2016.

Also this week it appears our excellent local rag has decided to get awfully personal with yet another very experienced ex SANFL umpire by naming and shaming him in the Hahndorf vs Uraidla write up for one, yep one, “ridiculous free kick”. Whilst I was not at the game I did share a cold one or two during the week with a couple of old Hahndorf players who were at the game (for past players day) and they assured me the performance of both umpires in the A Grade game for the day was pretty good in the view that they went mainly un-noticed for most of the day, and most certainly had no effect on Uraidla winning the game.

I thought I may be getting a little sensitive in my old age being a former club boundary umpire from many moons ago. So today I went back through the weekends footy reports in the Courier imagining I would see numerous references to “ridiculous” errors from players being personally noted also. As we see for ourselves clangers happen on a pretty regular basis to every player and every club. But to my astonishment poor old Kent Shillitoe from Mt Barker (sorry Kent) was the only footballer in the hills to make a mistake over the weekend worth mentioning in the Courier ?
Go figure, over 350 players mentioned in the reports and this poor bloke was the only one who had “a poor disposal”.
Not even a Red or Yellow card was a big enough "ridiculous" mistake to get a mention.
And likewise poor old Umpire Ross Wall was the only umpire to pay a “ridiculous free kick”.

Thank goodness the Uri lad didn’t allegedly flash his member at the Umpire, the poor old maggot would have been accused of goading him to do it !
Seriously?

They put me out at receiver, which I've never played before, and ended up catching a 50 yard bomb for a touchdown!

My Spartans coach was there with me, so it looks like I'll be playing both sides of the ball from now on.

The drive home was not fun though.

Re: 2016 Country Football Championships - Port Lincoln

Would be great if you could add some commentary on how its going over there, cheers

Ok - seen most of the preliminary games thus far and it looks like Southern will again dominate their group although they havent player Western yet on their home deck and Western played pretty well this morning against Central. For me I still reckon Southern have bigger bodies and a bit too much class. In the other group Mid South East and Eastern look really close and hard to split - they are playing each other at the moment and the result could go either way. Northern played pretty well in the first game and I honestly couldn't tell you which of this group will play when tomorrow - its really tight in that group!!!!

Quality of the footy hasn't been too bad although the wind has made it a bit scrappy.

As for the weather - well its been dry so far but the wind is strengthening and blowing mainly across - maybe favouring the southern end a bit. Rain is due tonite which will make conditions difficult with the wind still meant to be blowing reasonably hard.

Good luck to all for tomorrow

Re: There's a special place in hell for drivers who...

Idiots that stop at the start of a slip lane waiting for a gap.

The Bolivar Road on to Port Wakefield Road one is the worst example of this, you have near a km to speed up and merge in but some dickwads just simply have no idea.

Same goes for the Kesters Road to Main North Road & Elder Smith Drive to Main North Road slip lanes...

The method is simple; get into the slip lane, accelerate to the appropriate speed, and there will be a gap. It's not rocket science, is it?

Re: Prison Release Umpires

About 10 prisoners took part this year and he wanted the program to expand next year.

so lets say one of these convicted people goal umpire or anything in general at a game will both clubs on the day be notified or only told if something bad happens
Why should you be notified? They're there doing a job trying to earn a crust. you wouldn't be notified if they had a job concreting and you were having a slab poured for a new shed at home. They have done their time and paid their dues. I think it's great that they're out there doing something in the community and not sitting at home on the dole doing bugger all. Whilst on Parole, they are still being supervised by Corrections and are in regular contact with them, so it's not like they're out there doing whatever they like. It doesn't work like that. They are pretty intensely monitored. Good luck to them I say.

Re: Horse Racing Tips & Discussion

15/ 10/ 2016 - Caulfield Cup Day, 2016

Really looking forward to my 1st visit to the Racecourse & sitting in the Stand viewing all the Fillies … Oh, & the Mares, Horses & Colts too ;)
Am ‘cashed up’ for the day too, so hopefully we can find some winners to line the pockets for a night on the town. Truth be told, I’m over here for my Sister-in-law’s 40th Birthday Party @ some swanky French Joint – the Races is just the ‘warm up’! Hope I don’t miss my flight on Sunday… Anyway, to the Ponies (& apologies for the length of the write up):

Caulfield Race 8 – Caulfield Cup

As previously stated on here, I’m somewhat bemused by the negativity around the field assembled for the race. Jameka is the obvious but less than 3/1 is way too short IMHO. Yes, she deserves favouritism, but there are some good Internationals in this field – of them, I think Scottish is the pick. The fact that Godolphin bypassed this race with Hartnel is a good ‘lead’ in my book. I backed Set Square weeks ago & unfortunately I think she’s lost form & the Gate is a big negative – she’ll go back from there IMHO, & that means she’ll need luck in the run to get close.

As you might imagine, I’ve been studying Form all week for the meeting, & am really happy with the $10 Place on Tuesday, I got for Sacred Master on UBet . His 4th in the Metrop was full of merit & as I said last week; you just have to have a ticket on a Waller runner 2000m+. The price was very juicy & so its proven, halving in 3 days! Give Real Love a good chance of winning the race, like Jameka she’s very well weighted. But you can’t back them all, so I’ve settled on backing Scottish 1 x 3 Units @ the track. Backed Set Square @ $51 weeks ago & got Sacred Master for 3 Units the Place.

Box Trifecta: 3, 4, 11, 12, 13, 15

Caulfield Race 10 – Moonga Stakes

I really like Stratum Star at the price in this race. - $24 little blue button is way over the odds for a horse with his record; Track, Distance & 2nd Up!!! The Gate may well be a good one by that stage of the day, so not too worried about that. 2 x 5 Units on him.

Has been a bit of a tip around for No. 9 Durendal & No. 15 Dan Zephyr was a ‘black booker’ last start IMHO. This race could well increase the Quaddie Dividend very nicely if you can get it. Backed Stratum Star already & will also back Dan Zephyr 1 x 4 Units .

Box Trifecta: 1, 2, 9, 12, 15, 16

Caulfield Race 9 – Caulfield Sprint

All the talk is No. 5 Hellbent . At Even Money, I guess you need to take notice, but as always I can’t fathom taking those odds - he goes in the Quaddie only for me. I never like horses coming back in distance, particularly Sprinters. I’m having a win bet on Lankan Rupee . Can’t believe he’s $14 ‘Powered’. Betting Strategy: 3 Units Win No. 1;
Exacta: 1, 4 / 5 - 3 Units; Quinella: 1, 4, 5 - 4 Units

Caulfield Race 5 – Ladbrokes Classic

This is an interesting encounter. Most of these are on the Derby trail I think. To that end, No. 3 Throssell has apparently been backed significantly in the Derby – so I can certainly entertain a wager on it at the $14 Enhanced with Ladbrokes – 1 x 3 Units .

Seaburge was good for us last week – the extra 2 furlongs on the 7 day back up? Query for mine but concede a winning hope. As is Good Standing. The Godolphin runner Kent , No. 8, did a lot wrong last start but finished that race very strong – in fact was the fastest last 200m of any runner in that race at Flemington. Happy to have a Place Ticket on him at the Price too. Backing 3 & 8 .

Box Trifecta: 1, 2, 3, 8, 9, 14

Caulfield Race 7 – Tristarc Stakes

Tycoon Tara has been amazing since moving North to be trained by the Snowdens. She’s into this race up to her ears – Place certainty IMHO . I’ve always been a Jessy Belle fan & she can run a bit of a race dropping 2 kgs from her previous run at The Valley (but again, I don’t like them coming back in distance), that said, 1400m is her best distance & she’s never been out of a Place from 3 starts Track & Distance. Hayes camp is flying & the ‘Price is Right’ (bit of Larry Emda humour there for ya). But the Sydney Fillies are better, aren’t they? Backing No. 1 First Seal 2 x 4 & a Place bet on Jessy .

Box Trifecta: 1, 2, 3, 4, 9, 11

Other Races?
Caulfield Race 1 – I think No. 14 Petition might run a nice race for the Freedman’s.

Melbourne Quaddie for 15%

1, 2, 6, 11 / 3, 4, 11, 12 / 1, 2, 5 / 1, 2, 9, 11, 12, 15

Sorry for the length of this Preview
Enjoy the Day Lads - I know I will :D

Re: Things that you rate!

I rate a recent gesture by my best mate.

Unfortunately, earlier this year, my wife and I were victim to a break-in. A fair bit of jewellery was taken, most of it sentimental that doesn’t get worn often, if ever, such as my late Grandmothers wedding bands, my wife’s wedding jewellery etc.

My best mate got married last year, to which I was his best man. For his wedding, he had all his groomsmen made personalised cufflinks for the day, with each of our initials engraved on the front. A small gesture with a beautiful touch, that was extremely sentimental to me. These too, were taken as part of the break in.

Since the break-in, my wife and I have been going through the insurance claims process, and have only just received confirmation that our claim has been approved and settled. We have been compensated by way of a "voucher" to spend at a local jeweller. We will be able to “replace” the items taken as close as we can get to like for like, but quite obviously won’t truly replace the originals, and their worth.

Unbeknown to me, my mate went and sorted replacement cufflinks from where he had them made originally, and gave them too me last week. To say that I was blown away would be an understatement. I already held the bloke in such high regard to begin with, but gestures like that re-enforced the true value of our friendship. Absolutely first class.

Re: Things that you rate!

I have recently purchased my first home.

This afternoon I signed the mortgage forms at the bank and yesterday I went to see my conveyancer, so everything is now almost finalized for settlement in two weeks time.

I'm very excited, everything I've had to do for it is a bit overwhelming but I'm very happy with the house I've bought and I knew as soon as I walked it I wanted it.

The real estate agent has been very helpful, easy going and genuine good bloke, very different to some of the agents I've met over the past 6 months. I couldn't get to the first open due to footy so I rang the agent and he allowed me to go and look at the house before anyone else on the Saturday morning. From there I was effectively first in best dressed, first one to put in an offer and while I had to come up from my offer price to beat off two other offers I was his first preferred buyer.

I did my home loan pre approval in October so been officially looking since then and have looked at about 25 properties prior to finding my house.

The great thing is it's a 3 year old house so basically brand new and I don't have to do anything to it. I move from our family home that's 5 years old to a newer house and working full time I don't want to be spending my free time doing renovations, so buying a newer house was always going to be the objective. Working full time for 7 years now has allowed me to be in a strong financial position where I can buy a nice first home. I'm incredibly lucky to be where I am right now with the job I have.

Here's hoping for a smooth transition into my new home.

Re: I need to know....

boxer kelpie cross with a bit of husky in him, we got him from SA Dog Rescue, only 2 years old.

It's only a partial tear from what the first vet told us, but they don't operate on bigger dogs.

Meadows vet quoted $3500 but we don't have that kind of money to just spend on the spot.

It's not an easy decision. The money is a factor, I don't care what anyone says when it comes to their pets, there is most certainly a line. People say "I'll do anything, any cost". No, you have a line.If the dog is in pain or unable to live a "normal" life, then the money becomes less relevant.

Beasley was much older, losing the weight helped him and my biggest concern was the post surgery rehab. If it's not adhered to then likely hood of a repeat injury is high. Good luck mate, it's a tough decision process.

We went through with the surgery 10 days ago, plate inserted into the bone to stabilise the knee joint. Shit loads of drugs, time of work and $3750 later Henry is on the mend. Needs to be in a crate for 6 weeks except for toilet breaks but to see him get better each day makes it worth it. At only 2 we couldn't let him continue in pain for 10+ years.

Re: Is Cricket losing its appeal to the general public.

I haven't lost interest in the game but I have lost interest in many of the meaningless tours our national side goes on.

I'm interested in the test series against England, South Africa, India and New Zealand and not much else. ODI's are mildly entertaining on a hot day in summer when it's on the box, but I wouldn't bother watching one from O/S. T20 means nothing to me.

Pretty much my scenario.
I'll watch any Aussie Test matches, if time/time zones work for me.
I have little interest in ODI's and none in T20.
If it's on tv and there's no footy/soccer that I'm interested in, I'll watch women's matches.

I have a reasonably large cricket book collection and I'm starting to consider what to do with it.

However, I love being involved at club level and will continue to be well into the future.

Re: Is Cricket losing its appeal to the general public.

Not sure about the General Public.
Obviously the Big Bask has been a big hit with the public along with Night Test cricket at Adelaide Oval
Other than the Ashes, i think the rest has all become a bit Ho Hum.

Personally i've been a SACA / AO Member for over 30 years but i will NOT be renewing my membership this year and most likely ever again.
I guess thats a sign i've lost interest at 1st class level to a degree. Have ZERO interest in the Big Bash. Test matches have been live on telly in recent years so easy just to stay home. Shield cricket i used to go to but are now at Glenelg or when at AO are during the week these days so not convenient to attend.
Used to go to Domestic 1 dayers but SA dont even get to host them any more.

My interest in cricket at my local club is as strong as ever and appreciate and enjoy following the fortunes of my local country mates playing for fun 100 times more than the over paid Internationals playing for the sake of earning as much money as they can not that you can blame them tho.

Congratulations to Shanes Superboots, 'The Indian's team who scalped the lot of us this season. It wasn't all good for The Indian though as he lost his Grand Final to FNQ Trotters so his only honour for the Hogg after such a brilliant season was to top the scoring. In Hogg Elite qualification Poon Army narrowly beat out Adelaide Crows for that last Elite spot next year. Congratulations to all those who qualified for Hogg Elite in 2018. A final word about a possible new rising star. iSwiTch has been a regular contender for the Mighty Eags memorial last spot in the Hogg award but in recent weeks young Lily has been on fire and scored a PB over over 2400 last week, a score that would have cleaned up the majority of this weekend's Grand Finalists. A huge effort by iSwiTch to finish in the top 100 from where they came back from.

So that's it for the Hogg for another year. Keep an eye out for the updated Honour Board which will include a nerd's delight of Hogg statistics including top 40 for wins and losses, success rates for teams that have played over 35 matches and the overall win loss records for all 2017 active coaches.

Catch ya ron.

Re: Horse Racing Tips & Discussion

29 & 30/09/2017 & 01/10/2017 (posted Wednesday Night 9pm)
Massive weekend of Racing & Group 1’s on all 3 days! Felt a bit unlucky not to get the PLACE $$$ last week in the Golden Rose – hands up those who backed the Winner! As for Big Duke, he was a Big Dud!

Friday at The Valley :

MR 7 ‘The Moir’
Huge field, with 9 of 17 First Up. I think there’s a stand out but the Gate is a big concern. I’ve backed Heatherly – her record Track & Distance is superb. Mooney Valley is that type of track where horse who’ve run well there, tend to keep doing so. Her 2 runs back from a spell have been good & the enhanced $17 & $4.40 with Ladbrokes just had to be taken. I’m very worried about Gate 13, as her best pattern of racing is to lead – so she’ll burn some fuel early to get over. That said, there’s a fair bit of speed around her, so she might get a trail behind 5, 7 or 9. Faatinah is an interesting runner & I’m keen to have a small PLACE bet on it @ $9.20 – will get all the favours from the alley & has a great first up record.

Saturday at Randwick :

SR 7 ‘The Epsom’
The ‘Rule of Thumb’ for any big ‘Randwick Mile’ is back Gai’s horses, but very unusually, she doesn’t have a runner! The barriers again, are sure to play a role in the outcome of the race & that makes the fav Happy Clapper a solid chance, but as you know by now I can’t have 2/1 on any horse, even if it is the best horse in the race. If Red Excitement gets a ‘cosier’ time up front this week, then he’s sure to be in it for a long way. I do like Foxplay @ the price, but the barrier is of concern in terms of winning the race. It appears to me that Tom Melbourne has improved moving away from the Freedmans to the Waller Yard. He seems to have changed him from a distance horse to a middle-distance horse, so I can see him being right in the finish here. His last 2 runs @ the 7 Furlongs have been full of merit, & if we could get $8 plus, I’d like him to win the race . Interesting race.

Trifecta Bets : 1,5/1,5/Field; 1,9/1,9/Field; 5,9/5,9/Field (2 x 2 x 11)

SR 8 ‘The Metropolitan’
Don’t like the race, personally. Will be watching to see if I backed Big Duke a week too early. If I had to have a bet, maybe Foundry but I can’t see too many of this field going on to challenge for the big Cups in a month’s time. Apart from perhaps Libran , these are 2nd string stayers in my view. Leave me out.

Sunday at Caulfield

MR 7 ‘The Underwood’
Hard to go past the top 2 here again. Was happy to be on Humidor the last time these 2 clashed @ Flemington (ran 2nd & 3rd). They will be much harder to run down @ Caulfield, with the shorter straight. Obviously, they are the 2 to beat. Happy to have a small wager on Abbey Marie , on the 7-day back up. The $36 Power-play is worth a few Units & $4.40 the Place (in a 9 horse field) is entertaining as well. I think Hartnell will win & he’s my pick at this stage for the Caulfield Cup. Maybe a couple of Exactas & Quinellas with BHB, Hartnell & Abbs .

MR 8 ‘Rupert Clarke’
Backing Grande Rosso here. In really good form, Corey Brown to ride & he drops 4kgs on his first up 3rd in the Aurie’s Star. 7 Furlong specialist & 2 from 2 @ the track – he’ll do me. Concede winning chances to 1, 3 & 4 but happy with the Powered $18 & the $4.60 the Place is a GIFT in my view. Loaded up on him 4 units x 11units , in fact, my bet of the weekend is Grande Rosso the PLACE, that $4.60 is too tempting.

Trifectas : 1,4/1,4/Field; 1,5/1,5/Field; 4,5/4,5/Field

Lets hope for a collect or two this week 8)
Good Luck Lads!
