Crikey don't tell SturtPeter.....

FWIW though watching the Strut games this year he certainly appears to be one coach who is OTM when it comes to tactical nous. Any AFL club would do well to have him on their coaching staff.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

He's hopeless and wouldn't make a good AFL assistant.
Bad tactics, man management..
Only good for an SANFL club.

i know things change but when he was announced coach of sturt, he was also asked if he had any afl ambitions & he said (paraphrasing) with my business i wouldn't have the time to justify doing it properly or thoroughly enough, so i'd say no but things can change
i thought secret groups were a thing of the past, well not on websites anyway

Blue Boy... Would not get too upset over this. Remember it is the Silly season. Rumour, scandal and innuendo are rife until round 1 next year!

I would imagine that the fact he has two young kids under the age of 6, and the amount of time he would have to dedicate as an AFL assistant coach would be the deciding factor. Tough enough being head honcho of an SANFL club.
Will be a few years yet!

I'd be surprised if any SANFL coach doesn't have a 'get out' clause associated with AFL opportunities.

That's a terrific point, I would imagine much closer to the truth than what MagareyLegend has posted.

Rick resisted all lucrative temptations to Coach at the other level, because he has the TOTAL respect of every player, administrator and Paid up Member and Barracker at Oxford Tce.
