South Break the Cap for 2nd year running

All discussions to do with the SANFL

Postby Squawk » Wed Dec 20, 2006 11:51 pm

The SANFL should do a survey of what players get paid for on-field work and what they get paid for off-field work for the same club.

For example, some players get paid pretty well for doing a couple of clinics a week or working at a gaming venue. I would imagine that some playing assistant coaches are also paid a lot more as an assistant coach than they are as a player.

At the end of the day, the salary cap is a good thing but clearly it is a joke the way it is administered and the ease at which it (apparently) seems to be flaunted.

Based on what phantom and how the hell would you know??? I suppose your CEO told you after he got up at your AGM and bullsh*tted to the members only for the second breach to be revealed just after your AGM!. Mind you, your club would be petty enough to complain about another club simply because they got caught however your club is not one of the one's I refer to in the following paragraph.

Well phantom for your info we got looked at very closely this year and audited heavily because of complaints at the league table by the CEO's of 3 other clubs. If I could post what our CEO and President said in reaction to it I would but suffice to say those clubs who complained (and Punk and I have alluded to one of them previously on similar type topics) are pathetic whingers if they "cry" to Whicker and Co about what another club "might be doing" because they had no fact to base their complaints on except that we recruited well.

BPBRB, when clubs are after the same player, the club who misses out at least gets a fair bit of information about what's been offered. Why do you think several clubs have consistently complained about one or two other clubs?

Perhaps where there's smoke, there's fire.

Perhaps evidence is mounting :D

I'm sure that the sanfl went through North with CSI like precision, you know torches and hairspray etc.
The fact that the sanfls watchdog/policeman on this issue is a longstanding North member and official would ensure that the sanfl would have known where to look or should I say where not to look.
Its time for the sanfl to engage an independent authority to do salary cap audits.

Motlop, Hart, Sporn all unknowns are they? James Allan such an unknown he made the VFL Team of the Year! So you think they will all be Koops types hey? You really are a w....r at times!

It must be that all the known players have been signed by Sturt hey? So name them Jimmy and we will compare recruit quality?

P.S. - I would hardly call some of Port Adelaide's recruits unknown either - cue Hargraves and LeCras for starters.
