Read Doug Robertsons best players and his comments about match ups and any key moves that were made and you will get my drift. Couple those factors with the games stats- which I know arent everything, and then judge for yourself.

I'm not trying to be deliberately argumentative - but I've come across this in the past through my work.
And a football writer's best players don't always have to match up against the club's. Just like the umpires' voters don't.
People see the game differently.
And if league clubs are like regular clubs - they have five or six people doing votes, and then they get collated.
So in that context, a football writer could have similar best players to the various people who provided votes.

But I will take a closer look at Doug's work in the future.

I agree on this - with so many people doing votes it can be all over the shop.

Nearly every week I do not agree with most columnist's best players and I often ask were they watchin the same game as me - so who is write and who is wrong ???

Of course Rucci does a good job - you folks are all debating his merits. Mind you, he can't go wrong in a one paper town.
