Does Ben Hart hope that North don't make the grand final?

All discussions to do with the SANFL

At least he'll be in the country, unlike G.Cornes who obviously doesn't have any faith on the Bays making it.

The Slow-down is for a good cause, it's a harmless exhibition game designed for fun and fundraising ...... just get over it. Ben Hart is going to play .... so what? Good on him for supporting the cause.

Sometimes we get so sensitive about the SANFL and our perception that everyone has turned their back on it that we get this huge chip on our shoulders and start to see demons and threats that just aren't there.

G wrote:Ben Hart will not, I repeat will not, play any part in a hillbilly game while North are still involved in a finals campaign. Its even ludicrous to suggest otherwise and a slur on Bens professionalism and character. We all agree its a great cause but the line has to be and will be drawn somewhere.

There's no doubt the Slowdown is a great cause, but I've always felt the timing of it is terrible and has taken fans away from SANFL footy finals. Why not have the Slowdown this weekend each year? No AFL to compete with and now that it is held at AAMI Stadium there is no issue with cricket.

And by the way, if you think Hart will play if North are still alive in the finals, you know nothing about football.

Cheers mate, I knew you'd like that, twas shocked to hear he has a planned overseas jaunt when the GF is on, rest assured our champion Barrie R will be there if we make it unlike your unloyal mob!

I take that back, Cornsey's loyal, he just has no faith in the Glenelg Footy Club this year, and fair enough too.

Why not have the slowdown as a curtain raiser to one of the SANFL finals games. Just a thought

2 points

1, how would they workout monies to the charity ? perhaps add an extra $2.00 at the gate/on the ticket
2, how would the league look if there was 50,000 there at 1.30pm & by 2.30pm there was only 20,000 there ? that wouldn't be a good advertisment for the league
i thought secret groups were a thing of the past, well not on websites anyway

The Slowdown has nothing to do with the SANFL and, as a Charity event, Tony & Chris are entitled to run it at a time that raises the most money for the sick kids, not when it suits the SANFL. It's no different to any other event that is on at that time of year (and there are a lot in spring) - do we want everything in Adelaide cancelled for the SANFL finals?

The other point is, what if the Slowdown were capable of selling out (or near enough) in it's own right and it meant week-in week-out loyal SANFL followers were deprived of watching their team in a finals match?

Ben Hart is being paid by and contractually obliged to the North Adelaide Football Club. Surely it is the Roosters which will decide his availability. I can't believe the hoo-ha.
