I know Norwood have 50 plus players on their U18 list and from what I have seen some real good players. Have done a great job in the Golden Grove area.
A kid should not be held back if he is good enough to play resserves.
I believe sport should be compulsory. Any kid not playing sport should be cashierd into the army.
Areas seem to have too many or too few kids at various points in history. Sturt baseball club always has kids bursting at the seems while poor old Kensington struggles for numbers.... often picking up excess Sturt players.

Mighty Eagle I believe most TAC teams are linked to VFL sides or regions - yes they do have senior sides but no they are not allowed to play up. They must play in the elite comp to keep the integrity of the comp intact. I also watched the VFL game between Nth Ballarat and bendigo bombers and based on SANFL standard here in the seniors Nth Ballarat would make the top 5 easily here. Bendigo full of under 23's mainly - 8 or 9 on Essendons list and Nth had half dozen rookies from Kangas. Very good standard.

TAC teams are independent of any VFL teams but they do have regions. No senior sides. Players want to play TAC because it is a proven pathway to AFL.
