I've been getting counselling since last years GF but am now able to bring myself to post again. Its a bit hard posting smart arse comments when you've been done in the GF. Oh yeah, congratulations Eagles. You are the team to beat this year.

I wasn't talking about you doggies  I know only too well about the pain of Grand Final defeat! Although the guilty conscience part I am not so familar with LOL.

And I still think you will be bottom. I didn't see anything on the weekend to suggest you have improved much from last year. You cant rely on Chambers kicking 8 out off 11 goals each week, and I think West will be a 4 goal better team when Cupido comes back.

Just a couple of key areas where we have improved I would expect PAFC.

Nobody is suggesting a Sturt flag this year mate, but if you can't see the improvement you are either a really poor judge, or you dont see a lot of Sturt. I am guessing a pretty even portion of both.

See you at Alberton a week Sunday.

Yep, you can see all that from one game where you played the team who won the spoon last year.

At least you didn't lose by 15 goals as was happening at the end of last year.

You may well have improved in those areas, but after round 1 is way too early to be raising your hopes for an improved performance this year. Give it a few weeks, and after your first big loss, to see how you bounce back. Same thing with Carlton this year, win the NAB Cup, win R1, people ger excited. Big loss on the weekend, and we will see this week if they have improved. Will be the same for Essendon and the Power. And will be the same with Sturt. Improvement is more than one or two good games.

You are not telling me anything I don't already know buddy. Nothing cutting edge or insightful there I am afraid.

If I, or any other football supporter for that matter, want's to 'raise my hopes' after round one, then that is my parogative.

Sturt didn't enjoy a victory until about round six last season, so please allow me to be a little chipper.

And yes my Wharfie friend, I can 'see all that from one game', because unlike your good self, I sat through twenty Sturt games last year and therefore that makes me qualified to judge them

But it was more than a victory for Greece. It was a stirring example to free people throughout the world of what a few brave men can accomplish once they refuse to submit to tyranny.

In all honesty, let's get things in perspective here ppl.

I saw the Port V Norwood game on Thursday as well as the game at the 'Rectum, and I don't think Sturt (or West for that matter) would get within cooee of either at the moment. It was a vastly higher standard game, especially when you consider it was under (very poor) lights. And they are arguably middle of the road teams anyway.

Damn, I knew there was somebody with perspective out there somewhere! Just when I was enjoying the big cloud of smug, along comes "Mr P" and blows it all out the window!!

Spot on. And after watching it on TV our game looked even scrappier. And we were lucky to win....Very Relieved to get the 2 points but there is a lot of improvement required to challenge the likes of Norwood, North, Centrals, Eagles or Port. As always, I reserve any comment re South...

Is that a cloud of smug forming over Oxford Tce?

Yeah, blame us 4WD driving, fuel guzzling, A/C loving Sturt supporters for global warming. At least our houses won't be swallowed by rising sea levels like the Glenelg Clubrooms, and, God forbid, their new toilets!

Now, go catch me a squid!
