Norwood 2012

Postby Wedgie » Tue Mar 20, 2012 3:45 pm

Were disappointing at the pointy end of the season last year and have been around the mark for 2 years now. Have kicked off 2012 with some great trial game form.
Will they bounce back using last year's finals results to spur them on? They're still considered a strong contender for the flag by the bookies.
How will some of the off field dramas over the summer break impact upon them?
Should come home with a wet sail as have 5 of their last 6 games at Norwood Oval.

Need a decent start as the draw is kinder with a string of home matches to conclude the regular season .. Wouldn't want to be far off the pace though.

To win a flag you need just a little bit of luck and things to go your way.
2010 were a kick away from a flag.
2011 devistated by serious injuries by half time in the 2nd SF and spent too much gas with no bench trying to get back. Dead meat for the Eagles the following week.
2012 lost quality players but recruited well and younger players appear ready to take the next step.

Forget off field dramas no effect on the players and dealt with quickly and effectively.

Sorry again Wedgie but Gags looks like he will play on.... so just a half a retirement. Good mentor in the 2's early and higher up if needed later in the year.

Have the best coach on planet earth and will be a serious contender for the flag again.

Things are going nicely, the less injuries the better. KMAC was a big loss but we seem to have covered the gaps there. Full charge to the finals now...

We'll finish top three.

Thanks.

Things are going nicely so far, the coach would be quite happy to be on top of the ladder with only one unlucky loss. I heard Bassett made the changes necessary after the preliminary final last year and the results show up to this point. Great start boys.

Can any norwood supporter tell me how Grigg is going? I think he was drafted by the Crows last year and was an All-Australian U18. I also remember him playing a few games last year where he looked very good given his age. Has his form been ordinary or is he just a victim of the strong norwood league team keeping him out?

Others would have seen more of the Magoo's than me mate, so might be able to provide better info .. But my understanding was that form wise he was a bit slow to start the year, but is getting closer to selection now.
