Also Central are the sort of team that will continue to be great in the wet or the dry so I cant see them slipping but the bottom teams could cause more upsets in the wetter conditions which quite often happens.

the wetter the better

Why do you say that tiger79?

Last year your mob belted us at Adelaide in the dry :?

weve had 2 starts on good, fast tracks for 2 losses

1 start on a dead track for a loss that really should have resulted in a win

1 start on a heavy track for a win

They're our bogey team

CORRECTION

You played daylight three times in the minor round and once in the finals for a clean sweep of victories.

In the Grand Final you played a Sturt Football Club that, for the first and only time in 2002 against CDFC, was able to pick it's best 21.

Funny how different our recollections of that year was I was sure we had played SFC 3 times plus an easy final. Sill don't know who we played in the GF. If it was the real SFC where did they disappear to since?

Congrat's mate, you have officially got me confused.

Three times in the minor round was exactly what I said, plus an 'easy' final (with a monstrous final margin of 9 points  )

It's history now but the great thing about history is the pages never lie.

Play on.....

wasn't it 14 points?

The scores were:
Central 9 14 68
Sturt 8 6 54

Yes 14 points - plus 23 scoring shots to 14 and 56% if it % had meant anything which I think is a comfortable win.

So you've backed down on 'easy' and gone with 'comfortable' now buddy?

Can you provide us all with the scoring shots and 'if % mean't anything' for the game played between the two sides a fortnight later?

Nope I am trying to erase all memory of what was probably our worst game this century.

Wish I hadn't brought it up now. The opposition did play well that day.

Presumably, still busy picking their best 21 :)

I am suprised when people say the dogs were daylight ahead in 02. Wernt they 17-1 or 18-2 with Norwood and Sturt 16-1/17-3? From memory Sturt always beat Norwood, Norwood always beat Central and Central always beat Sturt. Is that correct? People thought Norwood would give Central the most trouble. I disagreed. Sturt always seemed likely to beat Norwood in the prelim for mine anyway.

A friend of mine thought Sturt were going to win the GF. He watched them in the 2nd semi and saw good signs plus a couple of key players returned from memory? He reckons they peaked beautifully. Albiet a Sturt fan, not a passionate 1 though this fella.
Never give a sucker an even break

"Baby on board". Why dont you put a sign on ur car saying "adult on board" or "car stereo in use"?

Central, Sturt and Norwood did not lose to any of the other six sides at all during 2002.

You are correct in that Central always beat Sturt, but Sturt lost once to Norwood in the wet at AO about mid-season. Norwood did have the wood on Central, even beating them at Elizabeth.

I think the fact that we had beaten them three times in the monor round and one (which I concede was the closest game that the two sides had played). Central had had the weeks break while Sturt had a tough preminimary final. Everything appeared to favour the doggies but history shows that wasn't the case.
