Most colleges I can vouch for in their enrolment days make it clear that college sport comes first but there are some outs:

You can play a sport the school doesn't offer without having to represent the school.

Gee that's good of them!

This is such a beat up.

Clubs should be viewing this as an opportunity to look at other players and developing more than just their best 22 or so.
College footy has no impact on SANFL finals.
Most College kids are available for approx. 4 rounds at start of year, plus school holidays, long weekends, a couple of games at end of season. Usually comes to 10-12 rounds plus finals or about half of the season. Many of SA's recent high draft picks have come through this system.

Some clubs make it work, some clubs bitch about it.

Eagles, Norwood & Sturt finished up top of 18s comp last year and they would be impacted as much as any club in the comp.

Not sure that view sits well at North. When College Football commenced last year North made 18 changes from the week previous and from that point struggled to maintain pace thru the unavailability of the College players and subequently didn't play finals in the U'18's but it is a fact of life and has been for decades.
Piss weak SANFL and the CLOWNS who run it.

18 changes in a week would surprise me greatly. Which rounds are you referring to? I'd be interested to follow up who these lads were.

All clubs hate how the colleges steal their players so stamp it out now.

You got it the other way around guys. Kids are playing at school before they play at an sanfl club. If they don't want to play for a college, don't go there! Simple. It's in their enrolment details usually at the private schools.

Pac and saints have kids on scholarships, I know that shc do not and have not, not sure about others. By memory Ben hart was 'taken' by Rostrevor from Blackfriars back in the day, not sure what the deal was or if the move was simply a personal one made to try and increase his profile.
