Well FFS aren't Sturt 3rd?
And how can we beat ourselves or Port if we haven't played them yet?

Do these journos just guess and hope things are true or something?

We have lost 2 games to one club - Centrals. So what is the suprise or shock there or has that reporter been in a coma for the last 10 years???

Actually I think he's been in Canberra, some people would rate that as similar to a coma though.

Sam, sure was - going for what I believe will be a record eighth GF in a row this year.
Wedgie, have more faith in your boys. Motlop is certainly not the only shining light at North. I believe that even you have been talking up Sporn for the Magarey, have you not?

Cheers

Cannot believe North supporters saying that the loss of Motlop is the only reason they lost. After all, Shannon only had six kicks in ninty minutes of football.

I agree but by the same token Centrals supporter talking up Callinans game as a match winner might be stretching it a little. Until Krieg went off injured Callinan had 1 possession in the first half. He did end with 7 kicks and 4 quality goals and certainly does the job if he is given half a sniff and is the type of small fwd North need but he wasn't the one that got Centrals on the roll - he was there when it mattered however to convert those crumbing chances. A role that Ladhams should be playing but he is not fit and carrying a groin and it is showing. Callinan also has good leg speed and ability to break tackles which makes him ever dangerous. He is the icing on the cake when you think Centrals have Slade and O'Sullivan as similar types of players and also Slattery who looks nothing like he was at West! A nice luxury to have or should I say all the other clubs would like to have.

Not a bad effort from Darryl Wintle to pick up 7 touches, according to today's Sunday Mail. Must have been a surprise to him, given he didn't actually play!

Fantastic win by the dogs. Superior quality in the midfield that shows thru in the second half of games. The first half was an arm wrestle North got some gimme frees. Gill marked well but as Wedgie mentioned his kicking at goal was terrible. Allen & Motlop impressed for the cocks while Ben HArt is simply playing within himself.

Dogs defence looks great .Whilst Lawry and j.Westhoff continue to do the job upfront. Ruck is really the only question mark over the dogs but it doesnt seem to be hurting us. Seven from Seven and a three game gap over the comp in 8 rounds of football.

Wedgie, I might have been a bit unfair if it sounded like I was writing Alleway's entire game off. He's a good leading type player, but for a bloke 190 odd and 100kg he should scare the crap out of defenses and take a few blokes to stop. I just don't get the feeling he's like that. And I think if he were to add a more physical presence to his game it would open up huge holes in the forward lines for Gill to work in, and for crumbers to feed off. And I think that journalist noticed that you'd lost twice to Central and thought there must be some witty, broad-sweeping statement to be made. Guess he didn't have to try to hard to outsmart himself.

Still say you're full of crap, SMAC. Lawry plays in front as much as any other forward in the game, and more than you could expect. If he's behind then there's a very good reason for it, usually that the pass to him is a bit high and he has to back track around to try to get into a winning position. 48 marks, 11 goals, 7 wins in 7 games this season from CHF. Game, set and match.

Disagreeing with you does not make one full of crap, Graham. If you read my posts carefully, I have not said sack him. I have not said he was crap. I said I am unconvinced. I am allowed to be that as he has yet to convince me that he can tear a game apart - this is what I expect from a gun recruit CHF and he hasn't done it yet. I am looking forward to the day he does.

If thats the case you better hope he makes a miraculous recovery. What a crock. I think you are selling the rest of your team short.

If I was selling the rest of the team short we wouldn't have been outscored 69-33 in 1.5 quarters of footy.
Definately not something Im happy about, far from it, just a fact though, Im a realist.

Sorry, Wedgie, but the above did make it seem that you were saying the loss of Motlop was the reason North went down. If I have misinterpreted that, sorry.

Disagreeing with me doesn't make you full of crap. Being wrong does. Seems like you're the one who needs to read carefully. Can't find anywhere that you've said you remain unconvinced with his ability to destroy a team, just unconvinced with him as a CHF. No CHF destroys a team in this comp without getting a call from an AFL club, so to expect a recruit to come in and do that in the SANFL is asking a heck of a lot. Lawry is not only doing the job as a CHF, he's doing a superb job. To say he is unconvincing with what he's done in basically every game this season beggars belief.

This is all I said.

Unconvinced of him up forward.

Unconvinced about his ability to tear a game apart.

Don't take it personally mate, (does the 'l' on the end of your username stand for Lawry? :D ) I just have high expectations of players that size. He should be able to control a game from that position and I am still waiting for it to happen. Good signs, I admit. But I remain unconvinced. I'm allowed to be.

Letting this one go now mate as I am expecting topsy to jump in with a "supporters fighting amongst themselves" comment any time now...

In Grahaml's match report I think the most accurate point made was that Norths first dozen players equal the Doggies first 12 but their next 6- 10 are currently better than Norths. This may be partly due to Norths group mainly being inexperienced youngsters. Bottom line is Centrals are currently too good for North.

G, just to add to that I'd back the dog's first dozen players against any other club's when it matters.
