The loss of Cowan is a bit of a blow but I rate the current midfield as about the best the doggies have ever had, the defence is equal to our best which was probably 2000/01. The attack has a lot of youth now without Cowan but we have plenty of options and the young blokes are all performing and getting better.

So I rate 07 as better than 06. I'm not sure overall how we would compare with the 2000 - 2005 teams - I would have to study all the ins and outs.

From the 2 games I've seen them play, I reckon they are as good a SANFL team as I can remember in the last 10 odd years
