Rnd 10: Eagles v Sturt @ M.Thiem Hyundai Oval (Sun 9/6)

Postby Big Phil » Tue Jun 04, 2013 9:52 am

The Eagles will be hosting the bottom places Double Blues and will be keen to respond from their poor showing at the Ponderosa last week. Sturt are still playing some good footy, just not able to sustain it for the 4 quarters, which is costing them dearly...

These 2 sides probably feel the affect of AFL selections the most so will be intersting to see what unfolds this week from that perspective on the selection table...

Eagles by plenty. Sturt are crap based on wat we saw last week. Close the doors now before they become an embarrassment. Maloney has no idea. So many good people won't go near the place anymore. Pity

Might be an upset brewing here. I think the Eagles will be pretty down after the loss to Central and a good win here against Sturt will prove nothing. However, as is with football, what has happened last week now means nothing and all focus needs to be on this game. That is the challenge for the Eagles.

Presumably Paul Stewart will replace Culley and Joyce may be in doubt with the last minute concussion. Muirhead might come back in, can only presume Godden thought his light frame wouldn't be suited to the conditions last week, as he has done nothing wrong and it would be good to see him get some more experience at league level.

Aerie, agree with you, I think Muirhead was very unlucky to be dropped. Thought his light frame would carry him over the heavy ground without getting bogged.
Been very impressed with Lachlan Carey, has played extremely well in the last four reserves games, has improved has disposal enormously and I would give him a go on a H/B flank and play P. Stewart up forward if we get him.. With the injury to Culley, Day has most probably saved his position in the league team. Another poor game against Centrals where he had to be shifted up forward.
Joyce has played poorly in his last three games and I feel was due for a spell in the reserves regardless of his injury, Angus Poole would be an ideal replacement.
Sorry about wrong info. on Salts. last week.

sounds a bit like the talk that was going round in the mid 90's about Sturt didnt happen then and wont happen now.

wow.

Ignore supercoach - serial troll in the Hills League thread. I believe he does not follow Central, the Cows or Uraidla.

In fact, this post may just give his identity away to those in the know in the hills.
