Get your facts right we have not been the reigning premiers for two years now and for your info Norwood is the reigning Premier they won the granny in 2012 against West and the Eagles in 2011 When you start beating sides by a least 4 goals plus then you are back. The reason Central are now being beaten is because of player turnover i calculated we have lost about a dozen players with over a 1,000 games of experience we are rebuilding if we stay in the five it will be a great year for us a very big diffence in this Central side compared to when it dominated the comp think about it as they say the wheel turns and now its someelses turn in the sunshine we will be back in the near future.

so beating the reigning premiers and a side who has dmoinated over the past 13 years is luck???
i can't stand port, but that is a ridiculous statement!!!!

I agree - you have to give credit where it is due and the Magpies are playing very well at present.

Yes i have given credit in my post on the Port/Central game however i was just sayin all teams have lucky wins Centrals has had a lot of lucky wins where the results could of been different if there was say another 20 seconds of play and yes the Magpies are a better side this year.

Don't know if that team is right but LOL at D Butcher starting in the midfield after his 7 disposal game last round.

D Butcher isn't AFL standard, but definitely deserving his spot in the league team, very good one on one defender, shuts people out of the game

Yep, I think he is in the side purely to play a run-with role. I cant see why else...

Looking at scott's stats (excellent job mate) this game will be an interesting "clash" of styles.

The Eags are the second highest scoring team, avg 96 ppg. Port avg 79ppg.

Port average 18 more diposals per game then their opponents. Showing we like to hang on to the ball. Port avg over 100 marks a game, the Eags 80.

Eags avg 50 tackles a game, Port just 35. Again showing Port like to keep possesion of the ball, it also shows the Eags tackle more than any other team and apply pressure to the ball carrier.

So this will come down to how effectively Port can hold the ball or how the Eags can pressure Port to give it up.

Here's hoping the conditions stay reasonably fine for this one as I think it will be a cracker. I think the difference might be the forward line Port are now assembling. Thurgood, Ebert, Johncock, Grove, Raikiwasa, Gray and J.Butcher all offer multiple goal scoring danger to the Eags.

Port by 17 points.

C'mon Ports!

I think one of the most interesting stats is that the Eagles' average winning margin (55) is the highest in the league, and their average losing margin (45) is only better than Glenelg and South. No other team in the top 5 has an average losing margin above 22, highlighting IMO how the Eagles are hot when they're hot, and awful when they're not. Hopefully Dr Jekyll comes out on Sunday...

That's the one stat I didnt make reference too, although I did take notice of it.

I think it shows that the teams who can score quickly worry the Eags ( North especially ) and moving the ball slowly as Port like to do and as demonstrated at Woodville earlier in the year, plays into the Eags hands.

I think Port are more adept at playing the style Kenny wants them too now than they were in our first encounter.

Another educated option ONR?

You've obviously missed the point where the PAFC wanted him developed as a run with/shut down type player. He has played this role very well, consistently again some quality opponents.

He probably isn't up to AFL standard, which is why he is on the Rookie List. Many Rookies on many lists aren't up to AFL standard.

Top Game.

Can't pick the winner here.

Whoever wins, will be a contender.

Goodluck to both teams.

Hope it's close.

Another break out game by D. Butcher today  Run with players / taggers also need to get the ball too and do something re atacking. At North our run with / tagger is Max Thring and he averages 22.5 disposals a game!
