cheerio to James Byrne who is now somehow captain of Geelong VFL team

That went off. Best day at the footy in WA ever.

The result in the WA v Vic game is not going down too well over here. Theres a massive gulf in the quality of WAFL games compared to the east.

Crikey, he's a busy guy, I hope it takes his focus of Geelong tomorrow!

.....and doesn't stop him coming back from injury to the Hawthorn forward line.

Only saw the first 15 minutes on ABC2 the other night and no way did I think that showed a result like this was on the cards.
I think the West Australians showed us last year they can play some good football but this must have been just one of those days.
Interesting to see in the Victorian side a few guys like Ezra Poyas, Luke Livingston and David Spriggs who were highly rated coming into the AFL system but they never really made any impression.

IIRC, form side East Perth had NO representatives and from the views of my work colleagues it was a name side and not a form side.

I watched the first half. You're right, insofar as the Sandgropers actually played pretty well in the first quarter. The Vics didn't take the lead until the 12 minute mark, and only some poor finishing prevented them from being closer at the quarter time break.

But the second quarter was mesmerising. The Vics were dominant, ran circles around the Sandgropers like they were training cones. 10 goals to zero, game over.
