Well at least somebody gets a mention in the tiser. And dont worry the way things are going you wont have to worry about reading things about North in the tiser, or any other club for that matter.....

Talk to any journo about the work North do behind the scenes in regard to promotion, no other club comes close.
Christ, the money North spent on promoting the SANFL by going to the NT alone would be more than a alot of other clubs put together will spend for the entire year.

I suspect what the Norf supporters spent on alcohol that weekend would exceed the entire promotional budgets of all the clubs.

That doesn't even take into account live scoreboards, photographers, etc that they fork out for that other clubs don't.

Its no wonder media coverage is going backwards here with the effort some put in.

People shouldn't be chastising the Advertiser or North for their coverage, they should be praising them and getting their own club to aspire to the same level thus helping North to build the SANFL back up in the media world! I'm amazed at some people's negativity, get positive if you want the SANFL to progress.

All hail North Adelelaide. Where would the comp be without them. North should put a lot of money into the media, after the amount of coverage their financial plight had in the paper in the last few years. And yes, I will chastise the Advertiser for their shit coverage of the SANFL. Dont blame the clubs.

Never a truer word spoken Wedgie. The NAFC hierachy deserve much credit. The other clubs (including mine) should use their example and follow suit. You must provide the Tiser with a newsworthy story of some sort in order for it to go to print after all.
There is only one team I love as much as the Double Blues, the Double Blues Reserves.......

North have done a lot of good work, but I dont think it should be the job of the clubs to try to sell themselves to the Advertiser. The Advertiser act like they are the be all and end all of all promotion and reporting on events, when the role of a newspaper should be as a giver of information. Their view is that the clubs should bow down to them and be grateful for the tiny space the SANFL gets. In reality the Advertiser should just report what happens and stop trying to make celebrities of their journos.

What about the Port financial plights that get coverage??? Does the $2.00 shake a can campaign not that many years ago ring a bell. Typical warfie - not enough brains to hold a memory cell!

drebin, Im not really having a go at North, more so having a go at the Advertiser and the fact a club would need to put a shit load of money into getting crap coverage in our only daily newspaper. What North have done is great, and more clubs should do it, but it should have never gotten to the point where they need try and buy space in the paper.

Also don't think it hurt Netball coverage that the current sports editor of the Advertiser is a female New Zealander.

I'm told she's left (thank God) and there's a new bloke in charge. Don't know who he is though.

Cheers. Thought there seemed to be a bit less rugby union coverage.
