Uncanny Scores/Margins...

Postby SnappyTom » Sun Jun 03, 2007 1:15 pm

An uncanny set of scores and margins this weekend...

Fos Williams passed away prior to the Centrals vs Port Qualifying final in 2000 - margin was 73 points against Port.
Von Willams passed away earlier this week prior to Port vs North at Alberton - margin was 74 points against Port.

Swans last night - 73.
Bombers last night - 74. (we can blame the one point discrepency on Westies Reserves side)

Lions last night - 73.
Tigers last night - 73.

All means nothing, but I was a bit fascinated by how uncanny the numbers all were in relation to 73 and 74.

I guess the Eagles are destined to go back-to-back this season - The then Eagles won the flag in 1933, 73 years prior to 2006, 74 years prior to 2007! :toimonster: :toimonster: :toimonster:

Yep, I did note that 1934 would buck any long-term, deep-and-meaningful trend.
Mark Williams did coach you lot at one stage, maybe that's where the Bays link resides...

I thought Fos died in 2001 - I remember the Power smacked West Coast by 20 goals the game after he passed away (round 22 2001 I believe).
They don't keep me here because I'm gorgeous and 5'10

Phew, took a while for someone to correct it!
Yep, he actually passed away on 1 September 2001. Centrals never played Port in the finals that season.

But the 73 and 74's were good to get on a roll!

And yes, West Coast were pumped directly after.
